Shemer: a name that, according to the lexicon, means "what is kept" (like the lees of wine). He is the owner of the hill that Omri bought; "Samaria" comes from his name (1 Kings 16:24). Other men have the same name in Chronicles. In 1 Chronicles 8:12 the Hebrew text writes שָׁמֶד, "Shemed," another man (the lexicon lists this name with Shemer).
