And theseוְאֵלֶּהwere the officialsהַשָּׂרִיםthatאֲשֶׁרwere his:לוֹAzariahעֲזַרְיָהוּsonבֶןof Zadokצָדוֹקthe priest;הַכֹּהֵן
Elihorephאֱלִיחֹרֶףand Ahijah,וַאֲחִיָּהsonsבְּנֵיof Shisha,שִׁישָׁאscribes;סֹפְרִיםJehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָטsonבֶּןof Ahilud,אֲחִילוּדthe chronicler;הַמַּזְכִּיר
and Benaiahוּבְנָיָהוּsonבֶןof Jehoiadaיְהוֹיָדָעwas overעַלthe army;הַצָּבָאand Zadokוְצָדוֹקand Abiatharוְאֶבְיָתָרwere priests;כֹּהֲנִים
and Azariahוַעֲזַרְיָהוּsonבֶןof Nathanנָתָןwas overעַלthe prefects;הַנִּצָּבִיםand Zabudוְזָבוּדsonבֶּןof Nathan,נָתָןa priest,כֹּהֵןwas the king’sהַמֶּלֶךְcompanion;רֵעֶה
and Ahisharוַאֲחִישָׁרwas overעַלthe house;הַבָּיִתand Adoniramוַאֲדֹנִירָםsonבֶּןof Abdaעַבְדָּאwas overעַלthe forced labor.הַמַּס
And Solomon hadוְלִשְׁלֹמֹהtwelveשְׁנֵים עָשָׂרprefectsנִצָּבִיםoverעַלallכָּלIsrael,יִשְׂרָאֵלand they sustainedוְכִלְכְּלוּthe kingאֶת הַמֶּלֶךְand his house;וְאֶת בֵּיתוֹfor a monthחֹדֶשׁin the yearבַּשָּׁנָהit would beיִהְיֶהonעַלeach oneהָאֶחָדto sustain them.לְכַלְכֵּל
And theseוְאֵלֶּהare their names:שְׁמוֹתָםBen-hur,בֶּן חוּרin the hill countryבְּהַרof Ephraim;אֶפְרָיִם
Ben-deker,בֶּן דֶּקֶרin Makazבְּמָקַץand in Shaalbimוּבְשַׁעַלְבִיםand Beth-shemeshוּבֵית שָׁמֶשׁand Elon-beth-hanan;וְאֵילוֹן בֵּית חָנָן
Ben-hesed,בֶּן חֶסֶדin Arubboth;בָּאֲרֻבּוֹתhisלוֹwas Socohשֹׂכֹהand allוְכָלthe landאֶרֶץof Hepher;חֵפֶר
Ben-abinadab,בֶּן אֲבִינָדָבallכָּלthe heightsנָפַתof Dor;דֹּארTaphathטָפַתdaughterבַּתof Solomonשְׁלֹמֹהwasהָיְתָהhisלּוֹwife;לְאִשָּׁה
Baanaבַּעֲנָאsonבֶּןof Ahilud,אֲחִילוּדTaanachתַּעְנַךְand Megiddoוּמְגִדּוֹand allוְכָלBeth-shean,בֵּית שְׁאָןwhich isאֲשֶׁרbesideאֵצֶלZarethanצָרְתַנָהbelowמִתַּחַתJezreel,לְיִזְרְעֶאלfrom Beth-sheanמִבֵּית שְׁאָןtoעַדAbel-meholah,אָבֵל מְחוֹלָהas far asעַדbeyondמֵעֵבֶרJokmeam;לְיָקְמֳעָם
Ben-geber,בֶּן גֶּבֶרin Ramoth-gilead;בְּרָמֹת גִּלְעָדhisלוֹwere Havvoth-jairחַוֺּת יָאִירof Jairsonבֶּןof Manasseh,מְנַשֶּׁהwhich isאֲשֶׁרin Gilead;בַּגִּלְעָדhisלוֹwas the regionחֶבֶלof Argob,אַרְגֹּבwhich isאֲשֶׁרin Bashan,בַּבָּשָׁןsixtyשִׁשִּׁיםgreatגְּדֹלוֹתcitiesעָרִיםwith wallחוֹמָהand barsוּבְרִיחַof bronze;נְחֹשֶׁת
Ahinadabאֲחִינָדָבsonבֶּןof Iddo,עִדֹּאat Mahanaim;מַחֲנָיְמָה
Ahimaaz,אֲחִימַעַץin Naphtali;בְּנַפְתָּלִיheהוּאalsoגַּםtookלָקַחBasemathאֶת בָּשְׂמַתdaughterבַּתof Solomonשְׁלֹמֹהas a wife;לְאִשָּׁה
Baanaבַּעֲנָאsonבֶּןof Hushai,חוּשָׁיin Asherבְּאָשֵׁרand in Aloth;וּבְעָלוֹת
Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָטsonבֶּןof Paruah,פָּרוּחַin Issachar;בְּיִשָׂשכָר
Shimeiשִׁמְעִיsonבֶןof Ela,אֵלָאin Benjamin;בְּבִנְיָמִן
Geberגֶּבֶרsonבֶּןof Uri,אֻרִיin the landבְּאֶרֶץof Gilead,גִּלְעָדthe landאֶרֶץof Sihonסִיחוֹןkingמֶלֶךְof the Amoriteהָאֱמֹרִיand of Ogוְעֹגkingמֶלֶךְof Bashan;הַבָּשָׁןand there was oneוּ אֶחָדprefectנְצִיבwho wasאֲשֶׁרin the land.בָּאָרֶץ
Judahיְהוּדָהand Israelוְיִשְׂרָאֵלwere many,רַבִּיםlike the sandכַּחוֹלthat isאֲשֶׁרbyעַלthe seaהַיָּםin multitude,לָרֹבeatingאֹכְלִיםand drinkingוְשֹׁתִיםand rejoicing.וּשְׂמֵחִים
And Solomonוּשְׁלֹמֹהwasהָיָהrulingמוֹשֵׁלover allבְּכָלthe kingdomsהַמַּמְלָכוֹתfromמִןthe riverהַנָּהָרEuphratestothe landאֶרֶץof the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּיםand toוְעַדthe borderגְּבוּלof Egypt;מִצְרָיִםthey broughtמַגִּשִׁיםtributeמִנְחָהand servedוְעֹבְדִיםSolomonאֶת שְׁלֹמֹהallכָּלthe daysיְמֵיof his life.חַיָּיו
And the foodוַ לֶחֶםof Solomonשְׁלֹמֹהfor oneלְ אֶחָדdayיוֹםwasיְהִיthirtyשְׁלֹשִׁיםkorsכֹּרof fine flourסֹלֶתand sixtyוְשִׁשִּׁיםkorsכֹּרof meal,קָמַח
tenעֲשָׂרָהfatבְּרִאִיםoxen,בָקָרand twentyוְעֶשְׂרִיםpasture-fedרְעִיoxen,בָּקָרand a hundredוּמֵאָהsheep,צֹאןbesidesלְבַדdeer,מֵאַיָּלand gazelle,וּצְבִיand roebuck,וְיַחְמוּרand fattenedאֲבוּסִיםfowl.וּבַרְבֻּרִים
Forכִּיheהוּאwas rulingרֹדֶהover allבְּכָלthe other sideעֵבֶרof the river,הַנָּהָרfrom Tiphsahמִתִּפְסַחas far asוְעַדGaza,עַזָּהover allבְּכָלthe kingsמַלְכֵיof the other sideעֵבֶרof the river;הַנָּהָרand he hadוְ הָיָה לוֹpeaceשָׁלוֹםon allמִכָּלhis sidesעֲבָרָיוall around.מִסָּבִיב
And Judahוַ יְהוּדָהand Israelוְיִשְׂרָאֵלlivedיֵּשֶׁבsecurely,לָבֶטַחeach manאִישׁunderתַּחַתhis vineגַּפְנוֹand underוְתַחַתhis fig tree,תְּאֵנָתוֹfrom Danמִדָּןeven toוְעַדBeersheba,בְּאֵר שָׁבַעallכֹּלthe daysיְמֵיof Solomon.שְׁלֹמֹה
And Solomonוַ לִשְׁלֹמֹהhadיְהִיfortyאַרְבָּעִיםthousandאֶלֶףstallsאֻרְוֺתof horsesסוּסִיםfor his chariots,לְמֶרְכָּבוֹand twelveוּשְׁנֵים עָשָׂרthousandאֶלֶףhorsemen.פָּרָשִׁים
And thoseהָאֵלֶּהprefectsהַנִּצָּבִיםsustainedוְכִלְכְּלוּKingאֶת הַמֶּלֶךְSolomonשְׁלֹמֹהand allוְאֵת כָּלwho came nearהַקָּרֵבtoאֶלthe tableשֻׁלְחַןof KingהַמֶּלֶךְSolomon,שְׁלֹמֹהeachאִישׁin his month;חָדְשׁוֹthey let nothingלֹא דָּבָרbe lacking.יְעַדְּרוּ
And the barleyוְהַשְּׂעֹרִיםand the strawוְהַתֶּבֶןfor the horsesלַסּוּסִיםand for the steedsוְלָרָכֶשׁthey broughtיָבִאוּtoאֶלthe placeהַמָּקוֹםwhereאֲשֶׁרit should be,יִהְיֶה שָּׁםeachאִישׁaccording to his rule.כְּמִשְׁפָּטוֹ
And Elohimוַ אֱלֹהִיםgaveיִּתֵּןSolomonלִשְׁלֹמֹהwisdomחָכְמָהand understandingוּתְבוּנָהin very great measure,הַרְבֵּה מְאֹדand breadthוְרֹחַבof heartלֵבlike the sandכַּחוֹלthat isאֲשֶׁרonעַלthe shoreשְׂפַתof the sea.הַיָּם
And the wisdomוַ חָכְמַתof Solomonשְׁלֹמֹהsurpassedתֵּרֶבthe wisdomמֵחָכְמַתof allכָּלthe sonsבְּנֵיof the eastקֶדֶםand allוּמִכֹּלthe wisdomחָכְמַתof Egypt.מִצְרָיִם
And he was wiserוַיֶּחְכַּםthan allמִכָּלhuman beings,הָאָדָםthan Ethanמֵאֵיתָןthe Ezrahite,הָאֶזְרָחִיand Heman,וְהֵימָןand Calcol,וְכַלְכֹּלand Darda,וְדַרְדַּעthe sonsבְּנֵיof Mahol;מָחוֹלand his nameשְׁמוֹwasוַיְהִיamong allבְכָלthe nationsהַגּוֹיִםaround.סָבִיב
And he spokeוַיְדַבֵּרthreeשְׁלֹשֶׁתthousandאֲלָפִיםproverbs,מָשָׁלand his songsשִׁירוֹwereוַיְהִיa thousandאָלֶףand five.חֲמִשָּׁה וָ
And he spokeוַיְדַבֵּרofעַלthe trees,הָעֵצִיםfromמִןthe cedarהָאֶרֶזthat isאֲשֶׁרin Lebanonבַּלְּבָנוֹןeven toוְעַדthe hyssopהָאֵזוֹבthatאֲשֶׁרcomes outיֹצֵאin the wall;בַּקִּירand he spokeוַיְדַבֵּרofעַלthe beasts,הַבְּהֵמָהand ofוְעַלthe birds,הָעוֹףand ofוְעַלthe creeping things,הָרֶמֶשׂand ofוְעַלthe fish.הַדָּגִים
And they cameוַיָּבֹאוּfrom allמִכָּלthe peoplesהָעַמִּיםto hearלִשְׁמֹעַthe wisdomאֵת חָכְמַתof Solomon,שְׁלֹמֹהfromמֵאֵתallכָּלthe kingsמַלְכֵיof the earthהָאָרֶץwhoאֲשֶׁרhad heardשָׁמְעוּof his wisdom.אֶת חָכְמָתוֹ
