The sonsבְּנֵיof Japheth:יֶפֶתGomer,גֹּמֶרMagog,וּמָגוֹגMadai,וּמָדַיJavan,וְיָוָןTubal,וְתֻבָלMeshech,וּמֶשֶׁךְand Tiras.וְתִירָס
And the sonsוּבְנֵיof Gomer:גֹּמֶרAshkenaz,אַשְׁכֲּנַזRiphath,וְרִיפַתand Togarmah.וְתֹגַרְמָה
And the sonsוּבְנֵיof Javan:יָוָןElishah,אֱלִישָׁהTarshish,וְתַרְשִׁישׁKittim,כִּתִּיםand Dodanim.וְדֹדָנִים
From theseמֵאֵלֶּהthe coastlandsאִיֵּיof the nationsהַגּוֹיִםseparatedנִפְרְדוּinto their lands,בְּאַרְצֹתָםeachאִישׁaccording to his language,לִלְשֹׁנוֹaccording to their families,לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָםin their nations.בְּגוֹיֵהֶם
And the sonsוּבְנֵיof Ham:חָםCush,כּוּשׁMizraim,וּמִצְרַיִםPut,וּפוּטand Canaan.וּכְנָעַן
And the sonsוּבְנֵיof Cush:כוּשׁSeba,סְבָאHavilah,וַחֲוִילָהSabtah,וְסַבְתָּהRaamah,וְרַעְמָהand Sabteca.וְסַבְתְּכָאAnd the sonsוּבְנֵיof Raamah:רַעְמָהShebaשְׁבָאand Dedan.וּדְדָן
AndוְCushכוּשׁfatheredיָלַדNimrod;אֶת נִמְרֹדheהוּאbeganהֵחֵלto beלִהְיוֹתa mighty oneגִּבֹּרon the earth.בָּאָרֶץ
Heהוּאwasהָיָהa mightyגִבֹּרhunterצַיִדbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWH;יְהוָהthat is whyעַל כֵּןit is said,יֵאָמַר“Like Nimrod,כְּנִמְרֹדa mightyגִּבּוֹרhunterצַיִדbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWH.”יְהוָה
Andוַthe beginningרֵאשִׁיתof his kingdomמַמְלַכְתּוֹwasתְּהִיBabel,בָּבֶלErech,וְאֶרֶךְAccad,וְאַכַּדand Calneh,וְכַלְנֵהin the landבְּאֶרֶץof Shinar.שִׁנְעָר
From thatמִן הַהִואlandהָאָרֶץhe went outיָצָאto Assyriaאַשּׁוּרand builtוַיִּבֶןNineveh,אֶת נִינְוֵהRehoboth-Ir,וְאֶת רְחֹבֹת עִירCalah,וְאֶת כָּלַח
and Resenוְאֶת רֶסֶןbetweenבֵּיןNinevehנִינְוֵהand Calah;וּבֵין כָּלַחthatהִואisthe greatהַגְּדֹלָהcity.הָעִיר
AndוּMizraimמִצְרַיִםfatheredיָלַדthe Ludim,אֶת לוּדִיםthe Anamim,וְאֶת עֲנָמִיםthe Lehabim,וְאֶת לְהָבִיםthe Naphtuhim,וְאֶת נַפְתֻּחִים
the Pathrusim,וְאֶת פַּתְרֻסִיםthe Casluhimוְאֶת כַּסְלֻחִים(from whereאֲשֶׁר מִשָּׁםthe Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּיםcame out),יָצְאוּand the Caphtorim.וְאֶת כַּפְתֹּרִים
AndוּCanaanכְנַעַןfatheredיָלַדSidon,אֶת צִידֹןhis firstborn,בְּכֹרוֹand Heth,וְאֶת חֵת
and the Jebusite,וְאֶת הַיְבוּסִיthe Amorite,וְאֶת הָאֱמֹרִיthe Girgashite,וְאֵת הַגִּרְגָּשִׁי
the Hivite,וְאֶת הַחִוִּיthe Arkite,וְאֶת הַעַרְקִיthe Sinite,וְאֶת הַסִּינִי
the Arvadite,וְאֶת הָאַרְוָדִיthe Zemarite,וְאֶת הַצְּמָרִיand the Hamathite.וְאֶת הַחֲמָתִיAnd afterwardוְאַחַרthe familiesמִשְׁפְּחוֹתof the Canaanitesהַכְּנַעֲנִיwere spread abroad.נָפֹצוּ
Andוַthe territoryגְּבוּלof the Canaanitesהַכְּנַעֲנִיwasיְהִיfrom Sidon,מִצִּידֹןin the directionבֹּאֲכָהof Gerar,גְרָרָהas far asעַדGaza;עַזָּהin the directionבֹּאֲכָהof Sodom,סְדֹמָהGomorrah,וַעֲמֹרָהAdmah,וְאַדְמָהand Zeboiim,וּצְבֹיִםas far asעַדLasha.לָשַׁע
Theseאֵלֶּהarethe sonsבְנֵיof Ham,חָםaccording to their families,לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָםaccording to their languages,לִלְשֹׁנֹתָםin their lands,בְּאַרְצֹתָםin their nations.בְּגוֹיֵהֶם
And to Shemוּלְשֵׁםalso,גַּםto him,הוּאsonswere born,יֻלַּדthe fatherאֲבִיof allכָּלthe sonsבְּנֵיof Eber,עֵבֶרthe elderהַגָּדוֹלbrotherאֲחִיof Japheth.יֶפֶת
The sonsבְּנֵיof Shem:שֵׁםElam,עֵילָםAsshur,וְאַשּׁוּרArpachshad,וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁדLud,וְלוּדand Aram.וַאֲרָם
And the sonsוּבְנֵיof Aram:אֲרָםUz,עוּץHul,וְחוּלGether,וְגֶתֶרand Mash.וָמַשׁ
AndוְArpachshadאַרְפַּכְשַׁדfatheredיָלַדShelah;אֶת שָׁלַחand ShelahוְשֶׁלַחfatheredיָלַדEber.אֶת עֵבֶר
And to Eberוּלְעֵבֶרwere bornיֻלַּדtwoשְׁנֵיsons:בָנִיםthe nameשֵׁםof the oneהָאֶחָדwasPeleg,פֶּלֶגforכִּיin his daysבְיָמָיוthe earthהָאָרֶץwas divided;נִפְלְגָהand the nameוְשֵׁםof his brotherאָחִיוwasJoktan.יָקְטָן
AndוְJoktanיָקְטָןfatheredיָלַדAlmodad,אֶת אַלְמוֹדָדSheleph,וְאֶת שָׁלֶףHazarmaveth,וְאֶת חֲצַרְמָוֶתJerah,וְאֶת יָרַח
Hadoram,וְאֶת הֲדוֹרָםUzal,וְאֶת אוּזָלDiklah,וְאֶת דִּקְלָה
Obal,וְאֶת עוֹבָלAbimael,וְאֶת אֲבִימָאֵלSheba,וְאֶת שְׁבָא
Ophir,וְאֶת אוֹפִרHavilah,וְאֶת חֲוִילָהand Jobab;וְאֶת יוֹבָבallכָּלtheseאֵלֶּהwerethe sonsבְּנֵיof Joktan.יָקְטָן
Andוַtheir dwelling placeמוֹשָׁבָםwasיְהִיfrom Meshaמִמֵּשָׁאin the directionבֹּאֲכָהof Sephar,סְפָרָהthe hill countryהַרof the east.הַקֶּדֶם
Theseאֵלֶּהarethe sonsבְנֵיof Shem,שֵׁםaccording to their families,לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָםaccording to their languages,לִלְשֹׁנֹתָםin their lands,בְּאַרְצֹתָםaccording to their nations.לְגוֹיֵהֶם
