AndוַElohimאֱלֹהִיםblessedיְבָרֶךְNoahאֶת נֹחַand his sonsוְאֶת בָּנָיוand saidוַיֹּאמֶרto them,לָהֶם“Be fruitfulפְּרוּand multiplyוּרְבוּand fillוּמִלְאוּthe earth.אֶת הָאָרֶץ
And the fearוּמוֹרַאֲand the dreadוְחִתְּof youכֶם כֶםwill beיִהְיֶהonעַלeveryכָּלanimalחַיַּתof the earthהָאָרֶץand onוְעַלeveryכָּלbirdעוֹףof the sky,הַשָּׁמָיִםon everythingבְּכֹלthatאֲשֶׁרcreepsתִּרְמֹשׂon the ground,הָאֲדָמָהand on allוּבְכָלthe fishדְּגֵיof the sea;הַיָּםinto your handבְּיֶדְכֶםthey are given.נִתָּנוּ
Everyכָּלcreeping thingרֶמֶשׂthatאֲשֶׁרisaliveהוּא חַיwill beיִהְיֶהfoodלְאָכְלָהfor you;לָכֶםasכְּthe greenיֶרֶקplants,עֵשֶׂבI giveנָתַתִּיyouלָכֶםeverything.אֶת כֹּל
Onlyאַךְfleshבָּשָׂרwith its life,בְּנַפְשׁוֹits blood,דָמוֹyou shall notלֹאeat.תֹאכֵלוּ
Andוְsurelyאַךְyour blood,אֶת דִּמְכֶםfor your lives,לְנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶםI will require;אֶדְרֹשׁfrom the handמִיַּדof everyכָּלanimalחַיָּהI will require it,אֶדְרְשֶׁנּוּand from the handוּמִיַּדof the human being,הָאָדָםfrom the handמִיַּדof each oneאִישׁforhis brother,אָחִיוI will requireאֶדְרֹשׁthe lifeאֶת נֶפֶשׁof the human being.הָאָדָם
Whoever shedsשֹׁפֵךְthe bloodדַּםof the human being,הָאָדָםby the human beingבָּאָדָםhis bloodדָּמוֹwill be shed;יִשָּׁפֵךְforכִּיin the imageבְּצֶלֶםof Elohimאֱלֹהִיםhe madeעָשָׂהthe human being.אֶת הָאָדָם
And you,וְאַתֶּםbe fruitfulפְּרוּand multiply,וּרְבוּswarmשִׁרְצוּon the earthבָאָרֶץand multiplyוּרְבוּon it.”בָהּ
AndוַElohimאֱלֹהִיםspokeיֹּאמֶרto Noahאֶל נֹחַand to his sonsוְאֶל בָּנָיוwith him,אִתּוֹsaying,לֵאמֹר
“And I,וַאֲנִיlook,הִנְנִיI am establishingמֵקִיםmy covenantאֶת בְּרִיתִיwith youאִתְּכֶםand with your offspringוְאֶת זַרְעֲכֶםafter you,אַחֲרֵיכֶם
and with everyוְאֵת כָּלliving beingנֶפֶשׁ הַחַיָּהthatאֲשֶׁרiswith you,אִתְּכֶםthe birds,בָּעוֹףthe livestock,בַּבְּהֵמָהand everyוּבְכָלanimalחַיַּתof the earthהָאָרֶץwith you,אִתְּכֶםof allמִכֹּלthat came outיֹצְאֵיof the ark,הַתֵּבָהto everyלְכֹלanimalחַיַּתof the earth.הָאָרֶץ
And I will establishוַהֲקִמֹתִיmy covenantאֶת בְּרִיתִיwith you:אִתְּכֶםand neverוְלֹאagainעוֹדwill allכָּלfleshבָּשָׂרbe cut offיִכָּרֵתby the watersמִמֵּיof the flood,הַמַּבּוּלand neverוְלֹאagainעוֹדwill there beיִהְיֶהa floodמַבּוּלto destroyלְשַׁחֵתthe earth.”הָאָרֶץ
AndוַElohimאֱלֹהִיםsaid,יֹּאמֶר“Thisזֹאתisthe signאוֹתof the covenantהַבְּרִיתthatאֲשֶׁרIאֲנִיam givingנֹתֵןbetween meבֵּינִיand youוּבֵינֵיכֶםand everyוּבֵין כָּלliving beingנֶפֶשׁ חַיָּהthatאֲשֶׁרiswith you,אִתְּכֶםfor generationsלְדֹרֹתforever:עוֹלָם
my bowאֶת קַשְׁתִּיI have putנָתַתִּיin the cloud,בֶּעָנָןand it will beוְהָיְתָהfor a signלְאוֹתof the covenantבְּרִיתbetween meבֵּינִיand the earth.וּבֵין הָאָרֶץ
And it will happen,וְהָיָהwhen I bringבְּעַנְנִיcloudsעָנָןoverעַלthe earthהָאָרֶץandוְthe bowהַקֶּשֶׁתappearsנִרְאֲתָהin the cloud,בֶּעָנָן
that I will rememberוְזָכַרְתִּיmy covenantאֶת בְּרִיתִיthatאֲשֶׁרisbetween meבֵּינִיand youוּבֵינֵיכֶםand everyוּבֵין כָּלliving beingנֶפֶשׁ חַיָּהof allבְּכָלflesh;בָּשָׂרandוְthe watersהַמַּיִםwill neverלֹאagainעוֹדbecomeיִהְיֶהa floodלְמַבּוּלto destroyלְשַׁחֵתallכָּלflesh.בָּשָׂר
Andוְthe bowהַקֶּשֶׁתwill beהָיְתָהin the cloud,בֶּעָנָןand I will see itוּרְאִיתִיהָto rememberלִזְכֹּרthe eternalעוֹלָםcovenantבְּרִיתbetweenבֵּיןElohimאֱלֹהִיםand everyוּבֵין כָּלliving beingנֶפֶשׁ חַיָּהof allבְּכָלfleshבָּשָׂרthatאֲשֶׁרisonעַלthe earth.”הָאָרֶץ
AndוַElohimאֱלֹהִיםsaidיֹּאמֶרto Noah,אֶל נֹחַ“Thisזֹאתisthe signאוֹתof the covenantהַבְּרִיתthatאֲשֶׁרI have establishedהֲקִמֹתִיbetween meבֵּינִיand allוּבֵין כָּלfleshבָּשָׂרthatאֲשֶׁרisonעַלthe earth.”הָאָרֶץ
Andוַthe sonsבְנֵיof Noahנֹחַwho went outהַיֹּצְאִיםof the arkמִן הַתֵּבָהwereיִּהְיוּShem,שֵׁםHam,וְחָםand Japheth;וָיָפֶתand Hamוְחָםwasהוּאthe fatherאֲבִיof Canaan.כְנָעַן
Theseאֵלֶּהthreeשְׁלֹשָׁהwerethe sonsבְּנֵיof Noah,נֹחַand from theseוּמֵאֵלֶּהthe wholeכָלearthהָאָרֶץwas spread out.נָפְצָה
AndוַNoah,נֹחַa manאִישׁof the ground,הָאֲדָמָהwas the firstיָּחֶלto plantוַיִּטַּעa vineyard.כָּרֶם
And he drankוַיֵּשְׁתְּof the wineמִן הַיַּיִןand became drunkוַיִּשְׁכָּרand uncovered himselfוַיִּתְגַּלinsideבְּתוֹךְhis tent.אָהֳלֹה
AndוַHam,חָםthe fatherאֲבִיof Canaan,כְנַעַןsawיַּרְאthe nakednessאֵת עֶרְוַתof his fatherאָבִיוand toldוַיַּגֵּדhis twoלִשְׁנֵיbrothersאֶחָיוoutside.בַּחוּץ
AndוַShemשֵׁםand Japhethוָיֶפֶתtookיִּקַּחthe cloakאֶת הַשִּׂמְלָהandוַlaid itיָּשִׂימוּonעַלthe shouldersשְׁכֶםof both of them,שְׁנֵיהֶםand they walkedוַיֵּלְכוּbackwardאֲחֹרַנִּיתand coveredוַיְכַסּוּthe nakednessאֵת עֶרְוַתof their father;אֲבִיהֶםand their facesוּפְנֵיהֶםwere turnedbackward,אֲחֹרַנִּיתandוְthe nakednessעֶרְוַתof their fatherאֲבִיהֶםthey did notלֹאsee.רָאוּ
AndוַNoahנֹחַawokeיִּיקֶץfrom his wineמִיֵּינוֹand knewוַיֵּדַעwhatאֵת אֲשֶׁרhis youngestהַקָּטָןsonבְּנוֹhad doneעָשָׂהto him.לוֹ
And he said,וַיֹּאמֶר“CursedאָרוּרbeCanaan;כְּנָעַןa slaveעֶבֶדof slavesעֲבָדִיםhe will beיִהְיֶהto his brothers.”לְאֶחָיו
And he said,וַיֹּאמֶר“BlessedבָּרוּךְbeYHWH,יְהֹוָהthe Elohimאֱלֹהֵיof Shem;שֵׁםand letוִיהִיCanaanכְנַעַןbeיהִיtheirלָמוֹslave.עֶבֶד
May Elohimאֱלֹהִיםmake roomיַפְתְּfor Japheth,לְיֶפֶתand let him liveוְיִשְׁכֹּןin the tentsבְּאָהֳלֵיof Shem;שֵׁםand letוִיהִיCanaanכְנַעַןbeיהִיtheirלָמוֹslave.”עֶבֶד
AndוַNoahנֹחַlivedיְחִיafterאַחַרthe floodהַמַּבּוּלthree hundredשְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹתandוַfiftyחֲמִשִּׁיםyears.שָׁנָה שָׁנָה
Andוַallכָּלthe daysיְמֵיof Noahנֹחַwereיִּהְיוּnine hundredתְּשַׁע מֵאוֹתandוַfiftyחֲמִשִּׁיםyears;שָׁנָה שָׁנָהand he died.וַיָּמֹת
