“Come,לְכוּand let us returnוְנָשׁוּבָהto YHWH;אֶל יְהוָהforכִּיheהוּאhas torn,טָרָףand he will heal us;וְיִרְפָּאֵנוּhe has struck,יַךְand he will bind us up.וְיַחְבְּשֵׁנוּ
He will revive usיְחַיֵּנוּafter two days;מִיֹּמָיִםon the thirdבַּ שְּׁלִישִׁיdayיּוֹם הַhe will raise us up,יְקִמֵנוּand we will liveוְנִחְיֶהbefore him.לְפָנָיו
And let us know,וְנֵדְעָהlet us press onנִרְדְּפָהto knowלָדַעַתYHWH;יְהוָהlike the dawn,כְּשַׁחַרhis going outמוֹצָאוֹis sure;נָכוֹןand he will comeוְיָבוֹאto usלָנוּlike the rain,כַגֶּשֶׁםlike the late rainכְּמַלְקוֹשׁthat watersיוֹרֶהthe earth.”אָרֶץ
Whatמָהshall I doאֶעֱשֶׂהwith you,לְּךָEphraim?אֶפְרַיִםWhatמָהshall I doאֶעֱשֶׂהwith you,לְּךָJudah?יְהוּדָהFor your loyal loveוְחַסְדְּכֶםis like a morningכַּ בֹּקֶרcloud,עֲנַןand like the dewוְכַטַּלthat goes awayהֹלֵךְearly.מַשְׁכִּים
Thereforeעַל כֵּןI have hewn themחָצַבְתִּיby the prophets,בַּנְּבִיאִיםI have killed themהֲרַגְתִּיםby the wordsבְּאִמְרֵיof my mouth;פִיand your judgmentsוּמִשְׁפָּטֶיךָare like lightאוֹרthat goes out.יֵצֵא
ForכִּיI desireחָפַצְתִּיloyal loveחֶסֶדand notוְלֹאsacrifice,זָבַחand the knowledgeוְדַעַתof Elohimאֱלֹהִיםmore than burnt offerings.מֵעֹלוֹת
But they,וְהֵמָּהlike Adam,כְּאָדָםhave transgressedעָבְרוּthe covenant;בְרִיתthereשָׁםthey acted treacherouslyבָּגְדוּagainst me.בִי
Gileadגִּלְעָדis a cityקִרְיַתof those who work wickedness,פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶןtrackedעֲקֻבָּהwith blood.מִדָּם
And asוּכְbands of raidersגְּדוּדִיםlie in waitחַכֵּיfor a man,אִישׁso is the companyחֶבֶרof priests;כֹּהֲנִיםon the roadדֶּרֶךְthey murderיְרַצְּחוּtoward Shechem,שֶׁכְמָהforכִּיthey commitעָשׂוּinfamy.זִמָּה
In the houseבְּבֵיתof IsraelיִשְׂרָאֵלI have seenרָאִיתִיa horrible thing:שַׁעֲרוּרִיָּהthereשָׁםis the prostitutionזְנוּתof Ephraim;לְאֶפְרַיִםIsraelיִשְׂרָאֵלis defiled.נִטְמָא
Also,גַּםJudah,יְהוּדָהa harvestקָצִירis appointedשָׁתfor you,לָךְwhen I turn backבְּשׁוּבִיthe captivityשְׁבוּתof my people.עַמִּי
