- Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁעַyehoshua
Joshua

YHWH
The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.

Gibeon
Today: al-Jib (Gibeon), West Bank
A city about 6 miles (10 km) northwest of Jerusalem.
Its people tricked Joshua into making peace with Israel (Josh 9:3-15). When Joshua defended them, the sun stood still (Josh 10:12). Solomon offered sacrifices there (1 Kgs 3:4).
The context
11And it came about, as they fled before Israel, while they were on the descent of Beth-horon, that YHWH threw down on them great stones from the heavens as far as Azekah, and they died. More were those who died by the hailstones than those whom the sons of Israel killed with the sword.
12 · This verse (above)
13And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on its enemies. Is it not written in the book of the Upright? The sun stopped in the middle of the heavens and did not hurry to go down for about a whole day.
