On the eighthהַשְּׁמִינִיdayבַּיּוֹםMosesמֹשֶׁהcalledקָרָאAaronלְאַהֲרֹןand his sonsוּלְבָנָיוand the eldersוּלְזִקְנֵיof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵל
He saidוַיֹּאמֶרto Aaron,אֶל אַהֲרֹן“Takeקַחfor yourselfלְךָa calfעֵגֶלof the herdבֶּן בָּקָרfor a sin offering,לְחַטָּאתand a ramוְאַיִלfor a burnt offering,לְעֹלָהboth without defect,תְּמִימִםand present themוְהַקְרֵבbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWH.יְהוָה
And toוְאֶלthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלyou shall speak,תְּדַבֵּרsaying,לֵאמֹר‘Takeקְחוּa male goatשְׂעִיר עִזִּיםfor a sin offering,לְחַטָּאתand a calfוְעֵגֶלand a lamb,וָכֶבֶשׂa year old,בְּנֵי שָׁנָהwithout defect,תְּמִימִםfor a burnt offering,לְעֹלָה
and an oxוְשׁוֹרand a ramוָאַיִלfor peace offerings,לִשְׁלָמִיםto sacrificeלִזְבֹּחַbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWH,יְהוָהand a grain offeringוּמִנְחָהmixedבְּלוּלָהwith oil;בַשָּׁמֶןforכִּיtodayהַיּוֹםYHWHיְהוָהwill appearנִרְאָהto you.’”אֲלֵיכֶם
They broughtוַיִּקְחוּwhatאֲשֶׁרMosesמֹשֶׁהhad commandedצִוָּהbeforeאֶל פְּנֵיthe tentאֹהֶלof meeting,מוֹעֵדand allוַ כָּלthe communityהָעֵדָהdrew nearיִּקְרְבוּand stoodוַיַּעַמְדוּbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWH.יְהוָה
Mosesמֹשֶׁהsaid,וַיֹּאמֶר“This isזֶהthe thingהַדָּבָרthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhas commandedצִוָּהyou to do,תַּעֲשׂוּand the gloryוְ כְּבוֹדof YHWHיְהוָהwill appearיֵרָאto you.”אֲלֵיכֶם
Mosesמֹשֶׁהsaidוַיֹּאמֶרto Aaron,אֶל אַהֲרֹן“Draw nearקְרַבtoאֶלthe altarהַמִּזְבֵּחַand offerוַעֲשֵׂהyour sin offeringחַטָּאתְךָand your burnt offering,וְ עֹלָתֶךָand make expiationוְכַפֵּרfor yourselfבַּעַדְךָand forוּבְעַדthe people;הָעָםand offerוַעֲשֵׂהthe offeringקָרְבַּןof the peopleהָעָםand make expiationוְכַפֵּרfor them,בַּעֲדָםasכַּאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhas commanded.”צִוָּה
Aaronאַהֲרֹןdrew nearוַיִּקְרַבtoאֶלthe altarהַמִּזְבֵּחַand slaughteredוַיִּשְׁחַטthe calfעֵגֶלof the sin offeringהַחַטָּאתthat wasאֲשֶׁרfor himself.לוֹ
The sonsבְּנֵיof Aaronאַהֲרֹןpresentedוַיַּקְרִבוּthe bloodהַדָּםto him,אֵלָיוand he dippedוַיִּטְבֹּלhis fingerאֶצְבָּעוֹin the bloodבַּדָּםand put itוַיִּתֵּןonעַלthe hornsקַרְנוֹתof the altar,הַמִּזְבֵּחַand the rest of the bloodוְ הַדָּםhe poured outיָצַקatאֶלthe baseיְסוֹדof the altar.הַמִּזְבֵּחַ
The fat,וְ הַחֵלֶבthe kidneys,וְ הַכְּלָיֹתand the lobeוְ הַיֹּתֶרֶתofמִןthe liverהַכָּבֵדfromמִןthe sin offeringהַחַטָּאתhe offered up in smokeהִקְטִירon the altar,הַמִּזְבֵּחָהasכַּאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhad commandedצִוָּהMoses.אֶת מֹשֶׁה
The fleshוְ הַבָּשָׂרand the skinוְ הָעוֹרhe burnedשָׂרַףwith fireבָּאֵשׁoutsideמִחוּץthe camp.לַמַּחֲנֶה
He slaughteredוַיִּשְׁחַטthe burnt offering,הָעֹלָהand the sonsוַ בְּנֵיof Aaronאַהֲרֹןhandedיַּמְצִאוּthe bloodהַדָּםto him,אֵלָיוand he splashed itוַיִּזְרְקֵהוּagainstעַלthe altarהַמִּזְבֵּחַall around.סָבִיב
The burnt offeringוְ הָעֹלָהthey handedהִמְצִיאוּto himאֵלָיוin its pieces,לִנְתָחֶיהָwith the head,וְ הָרֹאשׁand he offered them up in smokeוַיַּקְטֵרonעַלthe altar.הַמִּזְבֵּחַ
He washedוַיִּרְחַץthe entrailsהַקֶּרֶבand the legsוְ הַכְּרָעָיִםand offered them up in smokeוַיַּקְטֵרon top ofעַלthe burnt offeringהָעֹלָהon the altar.הַמִּזְבֵּחָה
He presentedוַיַּקְרֵבthe offeringקָרְבַּןof the people,הָעָםtookוַיִּקַּחthe goatשְׂעִירof the sin offeringהַחַטָּאתthat wasאֲשֶׁרfor the people,לָעָםslaughtered it,וַיִּשְׁחָטֵהוּand offered it for sinוַיְחַטְּאֵהוּlike the first.כָּרִאשׁוֹן
He presentedוַיַּקְרֵבthe burnt offeringהָעֹלָהand offered itוַיַּעֲשֶׂהָaccording to the regulation.כַּמִּשְׁפָּט
He presentedוַיַּקְרֵבthe grain offering,הַמִּנְחָהfilledוַיְמַלֵּאhis palmכַפּוֹfrom it,מִמֶּנָּהand offered it up in smokeוַיַּקְטֵרonעַלthe altar,הַמִּזְבֵּחַbesidesמִלְּבַדthe burnt offeringעֹלַתof the morning.הַבֹּקֶר
He slaughteredוַיִּשְׁחַטthe oxהַשּׁוֹרand the ram,וְ הָאַיִלthe sacrificeזֶבַחof peaceהַשְּׁלָמִיםthat wasאֲשֶׁרfor the people,לָעָםand the sonsוַ בְּנֵיof Aaronאַהֲרֹןhandedיַּמְצִאוּthe bloodהַדָּםto him,אֵלָיוand he splashed itוַיִּזְרְקֵהוּagainstעַלthe altarהַמִּזְבֵּחַall around,סָבִיב
and the fat portionsוְ הַחֲלָבִיםfromמִןthe oxהַשּׁוֹרand fromוּמִןthe ram,הָאַיִלthe fat tail,הָאַלְיָהand that which covers,וְהַמְכַסֶּהand the kidneys,וְהַכְּלָיֹתand the lobeוְיֹתֶרֶתof the liver;הַכָּבֵד
they putוַיָּשִׂימוּthe fat portionsהַחֲלָבִיםonעַלthe breasts,הֶחָזוֹתand he offered up in smokeוַיַּקְטֵרthe fat portionsהַחֲלָבִיםon the altar.הַמִּזְבֵּחָה
But the breastsוְ הֶחָזוֹתand the rightהַיָּמִיןthighוְ שׁוֹקAaronאַהֲרֹןwavedהֵנִיףas a wave offeringתְּנוּפָהbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWH,יְהוָהasכַּאֲשֶׁרMosesמֹשֶׁהhad commanded.צִוָּה
Aaronאַהֲרֹןliftedוַיִּשָּׂאhis handsיָדָיוtowardאֶלthe peopleהָעָםand blessed them;וַיְבָרְכֵםand he came downוַיֵּרֶדfrom offeringמֵעֲשֹׂתthe sin offering,הַחַטָּאתthe burnt offering,וְהָעֹלָהand the peace offerings.וְהַשְּׁלָמִים
Mosesמֹשֶׁהand Aaronוְאַהֲרֹןwentוַיָּבֹאintoאֶלthe tentאֹהֶלof meeting,מוֹעֵדand they came outוַיֵּצְאוּand blessedוַיְבָרֲכוּthe people;הָעָםand the gloryוַ כְבוֹדof YHWHיְהוָהappearedיֵּרָאtoאֶלallכָּלthe people.הָעָם
Fireאֵשׁcame outוַתֵּצֵאfrom beforeמִלִּפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהand consumedוַתֹּאכַלonעַלthe altarהַמִּזְבֵּחַthe burnt offeringהָעֹלָהand the fat portions;וְ הַחֲלָבִיםand allוַ כָּלthe peopleהָעָםsaw it,יַּרְאand they shouted for joyוַיָּרֹנּוּand fellוַיִּפְּלוּonעַלtheir faces.פְּנֵיהֶם
