AndΚαὶafterμετὰsixἓξdaysἡμέραςJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςtakes alongπαραλαμβάνειPeterτὸν ΠέτρονandκαὶJamesτὸν ἸάκωβονandκαὶJohn,Ἰωάννηνandκαὶleadsἀναφέρειthemαὐτοὺςupἀναφέρειontoεἰςa highὑψηλὸνmountainὄροςby themselvesκατ’ ἰδίανalone.μόνουςAndκαὶhe was transfiguredμετεμορφώθηbeforeἔμπροσθενthem,αὐτῶν
andκαὶhis clothesτὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦbecameἐγένετοradiant,στίλβονταintenselyλίανwhite,λευκὰsuch asοἷαnoοὐlaundererγναφεὺςonἐπὶearthτῆς γῆςcanδύναταιwhiten themλευκᾶναιlike that.οὕτως
AndκαὶElijahἨλίαςappearedὤφθηto themαὐτοῖςwithσὺνMoses,Μωϋσεῖandκαὶthey wereἦσανtalking withσυλλαλοῦντεςJesus.τῷ Ἰησοῦ
AndκαὶPeterὁ Πέτροςrespondsἀποκριθεὶςand saysλέγειto Jesus,τῷ Ἰησοῦ“Rabbi,Ῥαββίit isἐστινgoodκαλόνfor usἡμᾶςto beεἶναιhere;ὧδεandκαὶlet us makeποιήσωμενthreeτρεῖςtents,σκηνάςoneμίανfor youσοὶandκαὶoneμίανfor MosesΜωϋσεῖandκαὶoneμίανfor Elijah.”Ἠλίᾳ
Forγὰρhe did notοὐknowᾔδειwhatτίto answer,ἀποκριθῇforγὰρthey had becomeἐγένοντοterrified.ἔκφοβοι
Andκαὶa cloudνεφέληcame,ἐγένετοovershadowingἐπισκιάζουσαthem,αὐτοῖςandκαὶa voiceφωνὴcameἐγένετοout ofἐκthe cloud:τῆς νεφέλης“ThisΟὗτόςisἐστινmyμουbelovedὁ ἀγαπητόςSon;ὁ υἱόςlisten toἀκούετεhim.”αὐτοῦ
Andκαὶsuddenly,ἐξάπιναlooking around,περιβλεψάμενοιthey no longerοὐκέτιsawεἶδονanyoneοὐδέναwithμεθ’themἑαυτῶνbutἀλλὰJesusτὸν Ἰησοῦνonly.μόνον
AndΚαὶas theyαὐτῶνwere coming downκαταβαινόντωνfromἐκthe mountain,τοῦ ὄρουςhe orderedδιεστείλατοthemαὐτοῖςtoἵναtellδιηγήσωνταιno oneμηδενὶwhatἃthey had seen,εἶδονexceptεἰ μὴwhenὅτανthe Sonὁ υἱὸςof Manτοῦ ἀνθρώπουhad risenἀναστῇfromἐκthe dead.νεκρῶν
Andκαὶthey keptἐκράτησανthe matterτὸν λόγονtoπρὸςthemselves,ἑαυτοὺςdiscussingσυζητοῦντεςwhatτίthe risingτὸ ἀναστῆναιfromἐκthe deadνεκρῶνmeant.ἐστιν
Andκαὶthey were askingἐπηρώτωνhim,αὐτὸνsaying,λέγοντες“WhyὍτιdo the scribesοἱ γραμματεῖςsayλέγουσινthatὅτιElijahἨλίανmustδεῖcomeἐλθεῖνfirst?”πρῶτον
Andδὲheὁsaidἔφηto them,αὐτοῖς“ElijahἨλίαςdoesμὲνcomeἐλθὼνfirstπρῶτονand restoresἀποκαθιστάνειall things.πάνταAndκαὶhowπῶςis it writtenγέγραπταιaboutἐπὶthe Sonτὸν υἱὸνof Manτοῦ ἀνθρώπουthatἵναhe should sufferπάθῃmany thingsπολλὰandκαὶbe treated with contempt?ἐξουδενηθῇ
ButἀλλὰI tellλέγωyouὑμῖνthatὅτιElijahἨλίαςhas indeedκαὶcome,ἐλήλυθενandκαὶthey didἐποίησανto himαὐτῷwhateverὅσαthey wanted,ἤθελονasκαθὼςit is writtenγέγραπταιofἐπ’him.”αὐτόν
AndΚαὶwhen they cameἐλθόντεςtoπρὸςthe disciples,τοὺς μαθητὰςthey sawεἶδονa largeπολὺνcrowdὄχλονaroundπερὶthem,αὐτοὺςandκαὶscribesγραμματεῖςarguingσυζητοῦνταςwithπρὸςthem.αὐτούς
Andκαὶat onceεὐθὺςallπᾶςthe crowd,ὁ ὄχλοςseeingἰδόντεςhim,αὐτὸνwere greatly amazed,ἐξεθαμβήθησανandκαὶrunning up,προστρέχοντεςthey were greetingἠσπάζοντοhim.αὐτόν
Andκαὶhe askedἐπηρώτησενthem,αὐτούς“WhatΤίare you arguing aboutσυζητεῖτεwithπρὸςthem?”αὑτούς
Andκαὶoneεἷςofἐκthe crowdτοῦ ὄχλουansweredἀπεκρίθηhim,αὐτῷ“Teacher,ΔιδάσκαλεI broughtἤνεγκαmy sonτὸν υἱόν μουtoπρὸςyou,σέwho hasἔχονταa muteἄλαλονspirit;πνεῦμα
andκαὶwhereverὅπου ἐὰνit seizesκαταλάβῃhim,αὐτὸνit throwsῥήσσειhimαὐτόνdown,ῥήσσειandκαὶhe foamsἀφρίζειandκαὶgrindsτρίζειhis teethτοὺς ὀδόνταςandκαὶbecomes rigid;ξηραίνεταιandκαὶI toldεἶπαyour disciplesτοῖς μαθηταῖς σουtoἵναdriveἐκβάλωσινitαὐτὸout,ἐκβάλωσινandκαὶthey were notοὐκstrong enough.”ἴσχυσαν
Andδὲheὁansweredἀποκριθεὶςthemαὐτοῖςand says,λέγει“OὮunbelievingἄπιστοςgeneration,γενεὰhow longἕως πότεwill I beἔσομαιwithπρὸςyou?ὑμᾶςHow longἕως πότεwill I put up withἀνέξομαιyou?ὑμῶνBringφέρετεhimαὐτὸνtoπρόςme.”με
Andκαὶthey broughtἤνεγκανhimαὐτὸνtoπρὸςhim.αὐτόνAndκαὶwhen the spiritτὸ πνεῦμαsawἰδὼνhim,αὐτὸνat onceεὐθὺςit convulsedσυνεσπάραξενthe boy,αὐτόνandκαὶfallingπεσὼνonἐπὶthe groundτῆς γῆςhe was rolling about,ἐκυλίετοfoaming.ἀφρίζων
Andκαὶhe askedἐπηρώτησενhis father,τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ“How longΠόσος χρόνοςis itἐστὶνsinceὡςthisτοῦτοhas been happeningγέγονενto him?”αὐτῷAndδὲheὁsaid,εἶπεν“FromἘκchildhood;παιδιόθεν
andκαὶoftenπολλάκιςit has thrownἔβαλενhimαὐτὸνbothκαὶintoεἰςfireπῦρandκαὶintoεἰςwaterὕδαταtoἵναdestroyἀπολέσῃhim.αὐτόνButἀλλ’ifεἴyou can doδύνῃanything,τιhave compassionσπλαγχνισθεὶςonἐφ’usἡμᾶςand helpβοήθησονus!”ἡμῖν
AndδὲJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaidεἶπενto him,αὐτῷ“‘IfΤὸ Εἰyou can’!δύνῃAll thingsπάνταare possibleδυνατὰfor the one whoτῷbelieves.”πιστεύοντι
At onceεὐθὺςthe fatherὁ πατὴρof the childτοῦ παιδίουcried outκράξαςand was saying,ἔλεγεν“I believe;Πιστεύωhelpβοήθειmyμουunbelief!”τῇ ἀπιστίᾳ
Andδὲwhen Jesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsawἰδὼνthatὅτιa crowdὄχλοςwas running together,ἐπισυντρέχειhe rebukedἐπετίμησενthe uncleanτῷ ἀκαθάρτῳspirit,τῷ πνεύματιsayingλέγωνto it,αὐτῷ“MuteΤὸ ἄλαλονandκαὶdeafκωφὸνspirit,πνεῦμαIἐγὼcommandἐπιτάσσωyou,σοιcome outἔξελθεofἐξhimαὐτοῦandκαὶnever againμηκέτιenterεἰσέλθῃςintoεἰςhim!”αὐτόν
Andκαὶcrying outκράξαςandκαὶconvulsing himσπαράξαςterribly,πολλὰit came out;ἐξῆλθενandκαὶhe becameἐγένετοlikeὡσεὶa corpse,νεκρὸςso thatὥστεmostτοὺς πολλοὺςwere sayingλέγεινthatὅτιhe had died.ἀπέθανεν
ButδὲJesus,ὁ Ἰησοῦςtakingκρατήσαςhim by the hand,τῆς χειρὸς αὐτοῦraisedἤγειρενhim,αὐτόνandκαὶhe stood up.ἀνέστη
Andκαὶwhen heαὐτοῦhad goneεἰσελθόντοςintoεἰςthe house,οἶκονhis disciplesοἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦwere askingἐπηρώτωνhimαὐτόνprivately,κατ’ ἰδίαν“WhyὍτιcould weἡμεῖςnotοὐκdriveἐκβαλεῖνitαὐτόout?”ἠδυνήθημεν
Andκαὶhe saidεἶπενto them,αὐτοῖς“ThisΤοῦτοkindτὸ γένοςcannotδύναταιcome outἐξελθεῖνbyἐνanythingοὐδενὶbutεἰ μὴbyἐνprayer.”προσευχῇ
And going out from there,Κἀκεῖθεν ἐξελθόντεςthey were passingπαρεπορεύοντοthroughδιὰGalilee,τῆς Γαλιλαίαςandκαὶhe did notοὐκwantἤθελενanyoneτιςto know it;ἵνα γνοῖ
forγὰρhe was teachingἐδίδασκενhis disciplesτοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦandκαὶsayingἔλεγενto them,αὐτοῖς“The SonὉ υἱὸςof Manτοῦ ἀνθρώπουis being handed overπαραδίδοταιintoεἰςthe handsχεῖραςof men,ἀνθρώπωνandκαὶthey will killἀποκτενοῦσινhim;αὐτόνandκαὶwhen he has been killed,ἀποκτανθεὶςafterμετὰthreeτρεῖςdaysἡμέραςhe will rise.”ἀναστήσεται
Butδὲtheyοἱdid not understandἠγνόουνthe saying,τὸ ῥῆμαandκαὶthey were afraidἐφοβοῦντοto askἐπερωτῆσαιhim.αὐτὸν
AndΚαὶthey cameἦλθονtoεἰςCapernaum.ΚαφαρναούμAndκαὶwhen he wasγενόμενοςinἐνthe house,τῇ οἰκίᾳhe was askingἐπηρώταthem,αὐτούς“WhatΤίwere you discussingδιελογίζεσθεonἐνthe way?”τῇ ὁδῷ
Butδὲtheyοἱwere silent;ἐσιώπωνforγὰρonἐνthe wayτῇ ὁδῷthey had arguedδιελέχθησανwithπρὸςone anotherἀλλήλουςabout whoτίςwasthe greatest.μείζων
Andκαὶsitting down,καθίσαςhe calledἐφώνησενthe Twelveτοὺς δώδεκαandκαὶsaysλέγειto them,αὐτοῖς“IfΕἴanyoneτιςwantsθέλειto beεἶναιfirst,πρῶτοςhe will beἔσταιlastἔσχατοςof allπάντωνandκαὶservantδιάκονοςof all.”πάντων
Andκαὶtakingλαβὼνa child,παιδίονhe setἔστησενitαὐτὸinἐνthe middleμέσῳof them;αὐτῶνandκαὶtaking it in his arms,ἐναγκαλισάμενος αὐτὸhe saidεἶπενto them,αὐτοῖς
“WhoeverὋς ἂνreceivesδέξηταιoneἓνofτῶνsuchτοιούτωνchildrenπαιδίωνinἐπὶmy nameτῷ ὀνόματί μουreceivesδέχεταιme;ἐμὲandκαὶwhoeverὃς ἂνreceivesδέχηταιmeἐμὲreceivesδέχεταιnotοὐκmeἐμὲbutἀλλὰthe one whoτὸνsentἀποστείλαντάme.”με
Johnὁ ἸωάννηςsaidἜφηto him,αὐτῷ“Teacher,Διδάσκαλεwe sawεἴδομένsomeoneτιναdriving outἐκβάλλονταdemonsδαιμόνιαinἐνyour name,τῷ ὀνόματί σουandκαὶwe tried to stopἐκωλύομενhim,αὐτόνbecauseὅτιhe was notοὐκfollowingἠκολούθειus.”ἡμῖν
ButδὲJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaid,εἶπεν“Do notΜὴstopκωλύετεhim;αὐτόνforγάρthere isἐστινno oneοὐδεὶςwhoὃςwill doποιήσειa miracleδύναμινinἐπὶmy nameτῷ ὀνόματί μουandκαὶbe ableδυνήσεταιsoon afterταχὺto speak evil ofκακολογῆσαίme.με
Forγὰρwhoeverὃςis notοὐκ ἔστινagainstκαθ’usἡμῶνisἐστινforὑπὲρus.ἡμῶν
ForγὰρwhoeverὋς ἂνgivesποτίσῃyouὑμᾶςa cupποτήριονof waterὕδατοςto drinkποτίσῃin the nameἐν ὀνόματιthatὅτιyou belong toἐστεthe Messiah,χριστοῦtrulyἀμὴνI tellλέγωyou,ὑμῖνhe will neverοὐ μὴloseἀπολέσῃhis reward.τὸν μισθὸν αὐτοῦ
AndΚαὶwhoeverὃς ἂνcausesσκανδαλίσῃoneἕναof theseτούτωνlittle onesτῶν μικρῶνwhoτῶνbelieveπιστευόντωνinεἰςmeἐμέto stumble,σκανδαλίσῃit would beἐστινfar betterκαλόν μᾶλλονfor himαὐτῷifεἰa millstoneμύλος ὀνικὸςwere hungπερίκειταιaroundπερὶhis neckτὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦandκαὶhe were thrownβέβληταιintoεἰςthe sea.τὴν θάλασσαν
AndΚαὶifἐὰνyour handἡ χείρ σουcausesσκανδαλίζῃyouσεto stumble,σκανδαλίζῃcutἀπόκοψονitαὐτήνoff;ἀπόκοψονit isἐστίνbetterκαλόνfor youσεto enterεἰσελθεῖνintoεἰςlifeτὴν ζωὴνmaimedκυλλὸνthanἢhavingἔχονταthe twoτὰς δύοhandsχεῖραςto go awayἀπελθεῖνintoεἰςGehenna,τὴν γέεννανintoεἰςthe unquenchableτὸ ἄσβεστονfire.τὸ πῦρ
where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.
Andκαὶifἐὰνyour footὁ πούς σουcausesσκανδαλίζῃyouσεto stumble,σκανδαλίζῃcutἀπόκοψονitαὐτόνoff;ἀπόκοψονit isἐστίνbetterκαλόνfor youσεto enterεἰσελθεῖνintoεἰςlifeτὴν ζωὴνlameχωλὸνthanἢhavingἔχονταthe twoτοὺς δύοfeetπόδαςto be thrownβληθῆναιintoεἰςGehenna.τὴν γέενναν
where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.
Andκαὶifἐὰνyour eyeὁ ὀφθαλμός σουcausesσκανδαλίζῃyouσεto stumble,σκανδαλίζῃthrowἔκβαλεitαὐτόνout;ἔκβαλεit isἐστινbetterκαλόνfor youσέto enterεἰσελθεῖνintoεἰςthe kingdomτὴν βασιλείανof Godτοῦ θεοῦwith one eyeμονόφθαλμονthanἢhavingἔχονταtwoδύοeyesὀφθαλμοὺςto be thrownβληθῆναιintoεἰςGehenna,τὴν γέενναν
whereὅπουtheir wormὁ σκώληξ αὐτῶνdoes notοὐdie,τελευτᾷandκαὶthe fireτὸ πῦρis notοὐquenched.σβέννυται
ForγὰρeveryoneΠᾶςwill be saltedἁλισθήσεταιwith fire.πυρὶ
Saltτὸ ἅλαςis good;καλὸνbutδὲifἐὰνthe saltτὸ ἅλαςbecomesγένηταιsaltless,ἄναλονwithἐνwhatτίνιwill you seasonἀρτύσετεit?αὐτὸHaveἔχετεsaltἅλαinἐνyourselves,ἑαυτοῖςandκαὶbe at peaceεἰρηνεύετεwithἐνone another.”ἀλλήλοις
