andκαὶhe saidεἶπενto hisτοῖς αὐτοῦservants,παισὶν“ThisΟὗτόςisἐστινJohnἸωάννηςthe Immerser;ὁ βαπτιστήςheαὐτὸςhas been raisedἠγέρθηfromἀπὸthe dead,τῶν νεκρῶνandκαὶthat is whyδιὰ τοῦτοthe powersαἱ δυνάμειςare at workἐνεργοῦσινinἐνhim.”αὐτῷ
ForγὰρHerod,Ὁ Ἡρῴδηςhaving seizedκρατήσαςJohn,τὸν Ἰωάννηνboundἔδησενhimαὐτὸνandκαὶput him awayἀπέθετοinἐνprisonφυλακῇbecause ofδιὰHerodias,Ἡρῳδιάδαthe wifeτὴν γυναῖκαof PhilipΦιλίππουhisαὐτοῦbrother,τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ
forγὰρJohnὁ Ἰωάννηςhad been sayingἔλεγενto him,αὐτῷ“It is notΟὐκlawfulἔξεστίνfor youσοιto haveἔχεινher.”αὐτήν
Andκαὶthough he wantedθέλωνto killἀποκτεῖναιhim,αὐτὸνhe fearedἐφοβήθηthe crowd,τὸν ὄχλονbecauseὅτιthey heldεἶχονhimαὐτὸνto beὡςa prophet.προφήτην
ButδὲwhenγενομένοιςHerod’sτοῦ Ἡρῴδουbirthdayγενεσίοιςcame,γενομένοιςthe daughterἡ θυγάτηρof Herodiasτῆς Ἡρῳδιάδοςdancedὠρχήσατοin the midstἐν τῷ μέσῳandκαὶpleasedἤρεσενHerod,τῷ Ἡρῴδῃ
soὅθενhe promisedὡμολόγησενwithμετὰan oathὅρκουto giveδοῦναιherαὐτῇwhateverὃ ἐὰνshe asked.αἰτήσηται
Andδὲshe,ἡpromptedπροβιβασθεῖσαbyὑπὸherαὐτῆςmother,τῆς μητρὸςsays,φησίν“GiveΔόςmeμοιhereὧδεonἐπὶa platterπίνακιthe headτὴν κεφαλὴνof JohnἸωάννουthe Immerser.”τοῦ βαπτιστοῦ
Andκαὶthe kingὁ βασιλεὺςwas grieved,λυπηθεὶςbut because ofδιὰthe oathsτοὺς ὅρκουςandκαὶthose reclining at table with himτοὺς συνανακειμένουςhe orderedἐκέλευσενit to be given.δοθῆναι
Andκαὶhe sentπέμψαςand beheadedἀπεκεφάλισενJohnτὸν Ἰωάννηνinἐνthe prison.τῇ φυλακῇ
Andκαὶhisαὐτοῦheadἡ κεφαλὴwas broughtἠνέχθηonἐπὶa platterπίνακιandκαὶgivenἐδόθηto the girl,τῷ κορασίῳandκαὶshe brought itἤνεγκενto herαὐτῆςmother.τῇ μητρὶ
Andκαὶhisαὐτοῦdisciplesοἱ μαθηταὶcameπροσελθόντεςand tookἦρανthe corpseτὸ πτῶμαandκαὶburiedἔθαψανhim,αὐτόνandκαὶthey wentἐλθόντεςand reported itἀπήγγειλανto Jesus.τῷ Ἰησοῦ
Hearing this,ἈκούσαςJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςwithdrewἀνεχώρησενfrom thereἐκεῖθενinἐνa boatπλοίῳtoεἰςa desertedἔρημονplaceτόπονby himself;κατ’ ἰδίανandκαὶwhen the crowdsοἱ ὄχλοιheard it,ἀκούσαντεςthey followedἠκολούθησανhimαὐτῷon footπεζῇfromἀπὸthe towns.τῶν πόλεων
Andκαὶgoing ashore,ἐξελθὼνhe sawεἶδενa largeπολὺνcrowd,ὄχλονandκαὶhe was moved with compassionἐσπλαγχνίσθηforἐπ’themαὐτοῖςandκαὶhealedἐθεράπευσενtheirαὐτῶνsick.τοὺς ἀρρώστους
When eveningὀψίαςcame,γενομένηςthe disciplesοἱ μαθηταὶcameπροσῆλθονto him,αὐτῷsaying,λέγοντες“The placeὁ τόποςisἐστινdeserted,Ἔρημόςandκαὶthe hourἡ ὥραhas alreadyἤδηpassed;παρῆλθενsendἀπόλυσονthe crowdsτοὺς ὄχλουςaway,ἀπόλυσονso thatἵναthey may goἀπελθόντεςintoεἰςthe villagesτὰς κώμαςand buyἀγοράσωσινfoodβρώματαfor themselves.”ἑαυτοῖς
ButδὲJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaidεἶπενto them,αὐτοῖς“They haveἔχουσινnoΟὐneedχρείανto go away;ἀπελθεῖνyouὑμεῖςgiveδότεthemαὐτοῖςsomething to eat.”φαγεῖν
Andδὲtheyοἱsayλέγουσινto him,αὐτῷ“We haveἔχομενnothingΟὐκhereὧδεexceptεἰ μὴfiveπέντεloavesἄρτουςandκαὶtwoδύοfish.”ἰχθύας
Andδὲheὁsaid,εἶπεν“BringΦέρετέthemαὐτούςhereὧδεto me.”μοι
Andκαὶorderingκελεύσαςthe crowdsτοὺς ὄχλουςto sit downἀνακλιθῆναιonἐπὶthe grass,τοῦ χόρτουtakingλαβὼνthe fiveτοὺς πέντεloavesἄρτουςandκαὶthe twoτοὺς δύοfish,ἰχθύαςand looking upἀναβλέψαςtoεἰςheaven,τὸν οὐρανὸνhe blessed;εὐλόγησενandκαὶbreaking them,κλάσαςhe gaveἔδωκενthe loavesτοὺς ἄρτουςto the disciples,τοῖς μαθηταῖςandδὲthe disciplesοἱ μαθηταὶgave themto the crowds.τοῖς ὄχλοις
Andκαὶallπάντεςateἔφαγονandκαὶwere satisfied;ἐχορτάσθησανandκαὶthey picked upἦρανwhat was left overτὸ περισσεῦονof the pieces,τῶν κλασμάτωνtwelveδώδεκαbasketsκοφίνουςfull.πλήρεις
Andδὲthose whoοἱateἐσθίοντεςwereἦσανaboutὡσεὶfive thousandπεντακισχίλιοιmen,ἄνδρεςbesidesχωρὶςwomenγυναικῶνandκαὶchildren.παιδίων
AndΚαὶat onceεὐθέωςhe madeἠνάγκασενthe disciplesτοὺς μαθητὰςgetἐμβῆναιintoεἰςa boatπλοῖονandκαὶgo ahead ofπροάγεινhimαὐτὸνtoεἰςthe other side,τὸ πέρανuntilἕως οὗhe sentἀπολύσῃthe crowdsτοὺς ὄχλουςaway.ἀπολύσῃ
Andκαὶafter sendingἀπολύσαςthe crowdsτοὺς ὄχλουςaway,ἀπολύσαςhe went upἀνέβηontoεἰςthe mountainτὸ ὄροςby himselfκατ’ ἰδίανto pray.προσεύξασθαιWhen eveningὀψίαςcame,γενομένηςhe wasἦνthereἐκεῖalone.μόνος
Butδὲthe boatτὸ πλοῖονwasἀπεῖχενalreadyἤδηmanyπολλοὺςstadiaσταδίουςawayἀπεῖχενfromἀπὸthe land,τῆς γῆςbatteredβασανιζόμενονbyὑπὸthe waves,τῶν κυμάτωνforγὰρthe windὁ ἄνεμοςwasἦνagainst it.ἐναντίος
Andδὲin the fourthτετάρτῃwatchφυλακῇof the nightτῆς νυκτὸςhe cameἦλθενtoπρὸςthem,αὐτοὺςwalkingπεριπατῶνonἐπὶthe sea.τὴν θάλασσαν
Butδὲwhen the disciplesοἱ μαθηταὶsawἰδόντεςhimαὐτὸνwalkingπεριπατοῦνταonἐπὶthe sea,τῆς θαλάσσηςthey were terrified,ἐταράχθησανsaying,λέγοντες“It isἐστινa ghost!”ΦάντασμάAndκαὶthey cried outἔκραξανforἀπὸfear.τοῦ φόβου
Butδὲat onceεὐθὺςJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςspokeἐλάλησενto them,αὐτοῖςsaying,λέγων“Take courage;Θαρσεῖτεit isεἰμιI;ἐγώdo notμὴbe afraid.”φοβεῖσθε
AndδὲPeterὁ ΠέτροςansweredἈποκριθεὶςhimαὐτῷand said,εἶπεν“Lord,Κύριεifεἰit isεἶyou,σὺcommandκέλευσόνmeμεto comeἐλθεῖνtoπρὸςyouσὲonἐπὶthe waters.”τὰ ὕδατα
Andδὲheὁsaid,εἶπεν“Come.”ἘλθέAndκαὶgetting downκαταβὰςfromἀπὸthe boat,τοῦ πλοίουPeterΠέτροςwalkedπεριεπάτησενonἐπὶthe watersτὰ ὕδαταandκαὶcameἦλθενtoπρὸςJesus.τὸν Ἰησοῦν
Butδὲseeingβλέπωνthe strongἰσχυρὸνwind,τὸν ἄνεμονhe was afraid,ἐφοβήθηandκαὶbeginningἀρξάμενοςto sink,καταποντίζεσθαιhe cried out,ἔκραξενsaying,λέγων“Lord,Κύριεsaveσῶσόνme!”με
Andδὲat onceεὐθέωςJesus,ὁ Ἰησοῦςstretching outἐκτείναςhis hand,τὴν χεῖραtook hold ofἐπελάβετοhimαὐτοῦandκαὶsaysλέγειto him,αὐτῷ“You of little faith,Ὀλιγόπιστεwhyεἰς τίdid you doubt?”ἐδίστασας
Andκαὶwhen theyαὐτῶνhad gotten upἀναβάντωνintoεἰςthe boat,τὸ πλοῖονthe windὁ ἄνεμοςceased.ἐκόπασεν
Andδὲthoseοἱinἐνthe boatτῷ πλοίῳbowed down beforeπροσεκύνησανhim,αὐτῷsaying,λέγοντες“TrulyἈληθῶςyou areεἶthe Sonυἱὸςof God.”θεοῦ
AndΚαὶcrossing over,διαπεράσαντεςthey cameἦλθονtoἐπὶlandτὴν γῆνatεἰςGennesaret.Γεννησαρέτ
Andκαὶwhen the menοἱ ἄνδρεςof thatτοῦ ἐκείνουplaceτόπουrecognizedἐπιγνόντεςhim,αὐτὸνthey sent wordἀπέστειλανintoεἰςallὅληνthatἐκείνηνsurrounding region,τὴν περίχωρονandκαὶthey broughtπροσήνεγκανto himαὐτῷallπάνταςwhoτοὺςwere ill,κακῶς ἔχοντας
andκαὶthey were beggingπαρεκάλουνhimαὐτὸνthatἵναthey might onlyμόνονtouchἅψωνταιthe fringeτοῦ κρασπέδουof hisαὐτοῦcloak;τοῦ ἱματίουandκαὶall whoὅσοιtouched itἥψαντοwere made well.διεσώθησαν
