Nehemiah 11

The officialsוַ שָׂרֵיof the peopleהָעָםlivedיֵּשְׁבוּin Jerusalem;בִּירוּשָׁלִָםand the restוּשְׁאָרof the peopleהָעָםcastהִפִּילוּlotsגוֹרָלוֹתto bringלְהָבִיאoneאֶחָדout ofמִןtenהָעֲשָׂרָהto liveלָשֶׁבֶתin Jerusalem,בִּירוּשָׁלִַםthe holyהַקֹּדֶשׁcity,עִירand the nine partsוְתֵשַׁע הַיָּדוֹתin the cities.בֶּעָרִים

And the peopleוַ הָעָםblessedיְבָרֲכוּallלְכֹלthe menהָאֲנָשִׁיםwho offered themselves willinglyהַמִּתְנַדְּבִיםto liveלָשֶׁבֶתin Jerusalem.בִּירוּשָׁלִָם

And theseוְאֵלֶּהare the headsרָאשֵׁיof the provinceהַמְּדִינָהwhoאֲשֶׁרlivedיָשְׁבוּin Jerusalem;בִּירוּשָׁלִָםbut in the citiesוּבְעָרֵיof Judahיְהוּדָהlived,יָשְׁבוּeachאִישׁon his possessionבַּאֲחֻזָּתוֹin their cities,בְּעָרֵיהֶםIsrael,יִשְׂרָאֵלthe priests,הַכֹּהֲנִיםthe Levites,וְהַלְוִיִּםthe Nethinim,וְהַנְּתִינִיםand the sonsוּבְנֵיof the servantsעַבְדֵיof Solomon.שְׁלֹמֹה

And in Jerusalemוּבִירוּשָׁלִַםlivedיָשְׁבוּsome of the sonsמִבְּנֵיof Judahיְהוּדָהand of the sonsוּמִבְּנֵיof Benjamin.בִנְיָמִןOf the sonsמִבְּנֵיof Judah:יְהוּדָהAthaiahעֲתָיָהsonבֶןof Uzziah,עֻזִּיָּהsonבֶּןof Zechariah,זְכַרְיָהsonבֶןof Amariah,אֲמַרְיָהsonבֶּןof Shephatiah,שְׁפַטְיָהsonבֶןof Mahalalel,מַהֲלַלְאֵלof the sonsמִבְּנֵיof Perez;פָרֶץ

and Maaseiahוּמַעֲשֵׂיָהsonבֶןof Baruch,בָּרוּךְsonבֶּןof Col-hozeh,כָּל חֹזֶהsonבֶּןof Hazaiah,חֲזָיָהsonבֶןof Adaiah,עֲדָיָהsonבֶןof Joiarib,יוֹיָרִיבsonבֶּןof Zechariah,זְכַרְיָהsonבֶּןof the Shilonite.הַשִּׁלֹנִי

Allכָּלthe sonsבְּנֵיof Perezפֶרֶץwho livedהַיֹּשְׁבִיםin Jerusalem:בִּירוּשָׁלִָםfour hundred sixty-eightאַרְבַּע מֵאוֹת שִׁשִּׁים וּשְׁמֹנָהcapableחָיִלmen.אַנְשֵׁי

And theseוְאֵלֶּהare the sonsבְּנֵיof Benjamin:בִנְיָמִןSalluסַלֻּאsonבֶּןof Meshullam,מְשֻׁלָּםsonבֶּןof Joed,יוֹעֵדsonבֶּןof Pedaiah,פְּדָיָהsonבֶןof Kolaiah,קוֹלָיָהsonבֶןof Maaseiah,מַעֲשֵׂיָהsonבֶּןof Ithiel,אִיתִיאֵלsonבֶּןof Jeshaiah;יְשַׁעְיָה

and after himוְאַחֲרָיוGabbai,גַּבַּיSallai:סַלָּיnine hundred twenty-eight.תְּשַׁע מֵאוֹת עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁמֹנָה

And Joelוְיוֹאֵלsonבֶּןof Zichriזִכְרִיwasthe one appointedפָּקִידover them;עֲלֵיהֶםand Judahוִיהוּדָהsonבֶןof Hassenuahהַסְּנוּאָהwasoverעַלthe city,הָעִירthe second.מִשְׁנֶה

Ofמִןthe priests:הַכֹּהֲנִיםJedaiahיְדַעְיָהsonבֶןof Joiarib,יוֹיָרִיבJachin,יָכִין

Seraiahשְׂרָיָהsonבֶןof Hilkiah,חִלְקִיָּהsonבֶּןof Meshullam,מְשֻׁלָּםsonבֶּןof Zadok,צָדוֹקsonבֶּןof Meraioth,מְרָיוֹתsonבֶּןof Ahitub,אֲחִיטוּבrulerנְגִדof the houseבֵּיתof Elohim,הָאֱלֹהִים

and their brothersוַאֲחֵיהֶםwho didעֹשֵׂיthe workהַמְּלָאכָהof the house:לַבַּיִתeight hundred twenty-two;שְׁמֹנֶה מֵאוֹת עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁנָיִםand Adaiahוַעֲדָיָהsonבֶּןof Jeroham,יְרֹחָםsonבֶּןof Pelaliah,פְּלַלְיָהsonבֶּןof Amzi,אַמְצִיsonבֶןof Zechariah,זְכַרְיָהsonבֶּןof Pashhur,פַּשְׁחוּרsonבֶּןof Malchijah,מַלְכִּיָּה

and his brothers,וְאֶחָיוheadsרָאשִׁיםof fathers’ houses:לְאָבוֹתtwo hundred forty-two;מָאתַיִם אַרְבָּעִים וּשְׁנָיִםand Amashsaiוַעֲמַשְׁסַיsonבֶּןof Azarel,עֲזַרְאֵלsonבֶּןof Ahzai,אַחְזַיsonבֶּןof Meshillemoth,מְשִׁלֵּמוֹתsonבֶּןof Immer,אִמֵּר

and their brothers,וַאֲחֵיהֶםmighty warriors:גִּבּוֹרֵי חַיִלone hundred twenty-eight;מֵאָה עֶשְׂרִים וּשְׁמֹנָהand the one appointedוּפָקִידover themעֲלֵיהֶםwasZabdielזַבְדִּיאֵלsonבֶּןof Haggedolim.הַגְּדוֹלִים

And ofוּמִןthe Levites:הַלְוִיִּםShemaiahשְׁמַעְיָהsonבֶןof Hasshub,חַשּׁוּבsonבֶּןof Azrikam,עַזְרִיקָםsonבֶּןof Hashabiah,חֲשַׁבְיָהsonבֶּןof Bunni;בּוּנִּי

and Shabbethaiוְשַׁבְּתַיand Jozabad,וְיוֹזָבָדoverעַלthe outsideהַחִיצֹנָהworkהַמְּלָאכָהof the houseלְבֵיתof Elohim,הָאֱלֹהִיםofמֵthe headsרָאשֵׁיof the Levites;הַלְוִיִּם

and Mattaniahוּמַתַּנְיָהsonבֶןof Micah,מִיכָהsonבֶּןof Zabdi,זַבְדִּיsonבֶןof Asaph,אָסָףheadרֹאשׁof the beginning,הַתְּחִלָּהwho gave thanksיְהוֹדֶהin the prayer;לַתְּפִלָּהand Bakbukiah,וּבַקְבֻּקְיָהthe secondמִשְׁנֶהamong his brothers;מֵאֶחָיוand Abdaוְעַבְדָּאsonבֶּןof Shammua,שַׁמּוּעַsonבֶּןof Galal,גָּלָלsonבֶּןof Jeduthun.יְדוּתוּן

Allכָּלthe Levitesהַלְוִיִּםin the holyבְּ הַקֹּדֶשׁcity:עִירtwo hundred eighty-four.מָאתַיִם שְׁמֹנִים וְאַרְבָּעָה

And the gatekeepers:וְהַשּׁוֹעֲרִיםAkkub,עַקּוּבTalmon,טַלְמוֹןand their brothers,וַאֲחֵיהֶםwho stood guardהַשֹּׁמְרִיםat the gates:בַּשְּׁעָרִיםone hundred seventy-two.מֵאָה שִׁבְעִים וּשְׁנָיִם

And the restוּשְׁאָרof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלthe priests,הַכֹּהֲנִיםthe Levites,הַלְוִיִּםwerein allבְּכָלthe citiesעָרֵיof Judah,יְהוּדָהeachאִישׁin his inheritance.בְּנַחֲלָתוֹ

And the Nethinimוְהַנְּתִינִיםwere livingיֹשְׁבִיםon the Ophel;בָּעֹפֶלand Zihaוְצִיחָאand Gishpaוְגִשְׁפָּאwereoverעַלthe Nethinim.הַנְּתִינִים

And the one appointedוּפְקִידof the Levitesהַלְוִיִּםin JerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִַםwasUzziעֻזִּיsonבֶןof Bani,בָּנִיsonבֶּןof Hashabiah,חֲשַׁבְיָהsonבֶּןof Mattaniah,מַתַּנְיָהsonבֶּןof Mica,מִיכָאof the sonsמִבְּנֵיof Asaph,אָסָףthe singers,הַמְשֹׁרְרִיםoverלְנֶגֶדthe workמְלֶאכֶתof the houseבֵּיתof Elohim.הָאֱלֹהִים

Forכִּיthere was a commandmentמִצְוַתof the kingהַמֶּלֶךְconcerning them,עֲלֵיהֶםand a firm agreementוַאֲמָנָהforעַלthe singers,הַמְשֹׁרְרִיםwhat was dueדְּבַרeach dayיוֹםon its day.בְּיוֹמוֹ

And Pethahiahוּפְתַחְיָהsonבֶּןof Meshezabel,מְשֵׁיזַבְאֵלof the sonsמִבְּנֵיof Zerahזֶרַחsonבֶּןof Judah,יְהוּדָהwasat the handלְיַדof the kingהַמֶּלֶךְfor everyלְכָלmatterדָּבָרof the people.לָעָם

And as forוְאֶלthe villagesהַחֲצֵרִיםin their fields:בִּשְׂדֹתָםsome of the sonsמִבְּנֵיof Judahיְהוּדָהlivedיָשְׁבוּin Kiriath-arbaבְּקִרְיַת הָאַרְבַּעand its settlements,וּבְנֹתֶיהָin Dibonוּבְדִיבֹןand its settlements,וּבְנֹתֶיהָand in Jekabzeelוּבִיקַּבְצְאֵלand its villages,וַחֲצֵרֶיהָ

and in Jeshua,וּבְיֵשׁוּעַin Moladah,וּבְמוֹלָדָהin Beth-pelet,וּבְבֵית פָּלֶט

in Hazar-shual,וּבַחֲצַר שׁוּעָלin Beershebaוּבִבְאֵר שֶׁבַעand its settlements,וּבְנֹתֶיהָ

in Ziklag,וּבְצִקְלַגin Meconahוּבִמְכֹנָהand in its settlements,וּבִבְנֹתֶיהָ

in En-rimmon,וּבְעֵין רִמּוֹןin Zorah,וּבְצָרְעָהin Jarmuth,וּבְיַרְמוּת

Zanoah,זָנֹחַAdullamעֲדֻלָּםand their villages,וְחַצְרֵיהֶםLachishלָכִישׁand its fields,וּשְׂדֹתֶיהָAzekahעֲזֵקָהand its settlements.וּבְנֹתֶיהָSo they encampedוַיַּחֲנוּfrom Beershebaמִבְּאֵר שֶׁבַעtoעַדthe valleyגֵּיאof Hinnom.הִנֹּם

And the sonsוּבְנֵיof Benjamin,בִנְיָמִןfrom Geba:מִגָּבַעMichmash,מִכְמָשׂand Aija,וְעַיָּהand Bethelוּבֵית אֵלand its settlements,וּבְנֹתֶיהָ

Anathoth,עֲנָתוֹתNob,נֹבAnaniah,עֲנָנְיָה

Hazor,חָצוֹרRamah,רָמָהGittaim,גִּתָּיִם

Hadid,חָדִידZeboim,צְבֹעִיםNeballat,נְבַלָּט

Lodלֹדand Ono,וְאוֹנוֹthe valleyגֵּיof the Craftsmen.הַחֲרָשִׁים

And ofוּמִןthe Levites,הַלְוִיִּםdivisionsמַחְלְקוֹתof Judahיְהוּדָהpassed to Benjamin.לְבִנְיָמִין
