The sonsבְּנֵיof Levi,לֵוִיheadsרָאשֵׁיof the fathers’ houses,הָאָבוֹתwere writtenכְּתוּבִיםinעַלthe bookסֵפֶרof the chronicles,דִּבְרֵי הַיָּמִיםevenוְuntilעַדthe daysיְמֵיof Johananיוֹחָנָןsonבֶּןof Eliashib.אֶלְיָשִׁיב

And the sonsוַ בְּנֵיof the singersהַמְשֹׁרְרִיםgatheredיֵּאָסְפוּboth fromוּמִןthe plainהַכִּכָּרaroundסְבִיבוֹתJerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַםand fromוּמִןthe villagesחַצְרֵיof the Netophathite,נְטֹפָתִי

And the priestsוַ הַכֹּהֲנִיםand the Levitesוְהַלְוִיִּםpurified themselves,יִּטַּהֲרוּand they purifiedוַיְטַהֲרוּthe peopleהָעָםand the gatesוְ הַשְּׁעָרִיםand the wall.וְ הַחוֹמָה
Then I brought upוָאַעֲלֶהthe officialsשָׂרֵיof Judahיְהוּדָהontoמֵעַלthe wall,לַחוֹמָהand I appointedוָאַעֲמִידָהtwoשְׁתֵּיgreatגְּדוֹלֹתthanksgiving choirsתוֹדֹתand processions:וְתַהֲלֻכֹתone went to the rightלַיָּמִיןon top ofמֵעַלthe wallלַחוֹמָהtoward the Dung Gate.לְשַׁעַר הָאַשְׁפֹּת
And after themוַ אַחֲרֵיהֶםwentיֵּלֶךְHoshaiahהוֹשַׁעְיָהand halfוַחֲצִיof the officialsשָׂרֵיof Judah,יְהוּדָה
and Azariah,וַעֲזַרְיָהEzra,עֶזְרָאand Meshullam,וּמְשֻׁלָּם
Judahיְהוּדָהand Benjamin,וּבִנְיָמִןand Shemaiahוּשְׁמַעְיָהand Jeremiah,וְיִרְמְיָה
and of the sonsוּמִבְּנֵיof the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִיםwith trumpets:בַּחֲצֹצְרוֹתZechariahזְכַרְיָהsonבֶןof Jonathan,יוֹנָתָןsonבֶּןof Shemaiah,שְׁמַעְיָהsonבֶּןof Mattaniah,מַתַּנְיָהsonבֶּןof Micaiah,מִיכָיָהsonבֶּןof Zaccur,זַכּוּרsonבֶּןof Asaph,אָסָף
and his brothers,וְאֶחָיוShemaiah,שְׁמַעְיָהand Azarel,וַעֲזַרְאֵלMilalai,מִלֲלַיGilalai,גִּלֲלַיMaai,מָעַיNethanel,נְתַנְאֵלand Judah,וִיהוּדָהHanani,חֲנָנִיwith the instrumentsבִּכְלֵיof songשִׁירof Davidדָּוִידthe manאִישׁof Elohim;הָאֱלֹהִיםand Ezraוְעֶזְרָאthe scribeהַסּוֹפֵרwasin front of them.לִפְנֵיהֶם
And atוְעַלthe Fountain Gate,שַׁעַר הָעַיִןstraight before them,וְנֶגְדָּםthey went upעָלוּbyעַלthe stairsמַעֲלוֹתof the cityעִירof David,דָּוִידat the ascentבַּמַּעֲלֶהof the wall,לַחוֹמָהaboveמֵעַל לְthe houseבֵיתof David,דָּוִידand as far asוְעַדthe Water Gateשַׁעַר הַמַּיִםon the east.מִזְרָח
And the secondוְ הַשֵּׁנִיתthanksgiving choirהַתּוֹדָהwentהַהוֹלֶכֶתin the opposite direction,לְמוֹאלand Iוַאֲנִיwentafter it,אַחֲרֶיהָand halfוַחֲצִיof the people,הָעָםon top ofמֵעַלthe wall,לְהַחוֹמָהaboveמֵעַל לְthe Towerמִגְדַּלof the Ovens,הַתַּנּוּרִיםas far asוְעַדthe BroadהָרְחָבָהWall,הַחוֹמָה
and aboveוּמֵעַל לְthe Ephraim Gate,שַׁעַר אֶפְרַיִםand byוְעַלthe Old Gate,שַׁעַר הַיְשָׁנָהand byוְעַלthe Fish Gate,שַׁעַר הַדָּגִיםand the Towerוּמִגְדַּלof Hananel,חֲנַנְאֵלand the Towerוּמִגְדַּלof the Hundred,הַמֵּאָהas far asוְעַדthe Sheep Gate;שַׁעַר הַצֹּאןand they stoppedוְעָמְדוּat the Guard Gate.בְּשַׁעַר הַמַּטָּרָה
So the twoוַ שְׁתֵּיthanksgiving choirsהַתּוֹדֹתstoodתַּעֲמֹדְנָהin the houseבְּבֵיתof Elohim,הָאֱלֹהִיםand I,וַאֲנִיand halfוַחֲצִיof the officialsהַסְּגָנִיםwith me;עִמִּי
and the priestsוְהַכֹּהֲנִיםEliakim,אֶלְיָקִיםMaaseiah,מַעֲשֵׂיָהMiniamin,מִנְיָמִיןMicaiah,מִיכָיָהElioenai,אֶלְיוֹעֵינַיZechariah,זְכַרְיָהand Hananiah,חֲנַנְיָהwith trumpets;בַּחֲצֹצְרוֹת
and Maaseiah,וּמַעֲשֵׂיָהShemaiah,וּשְׁמַעְיָהEleazar,וְאֶלְעָזָרUzzi,וְעֻזִּיJehohanan,וִיהוֹחָנָןMalchijah,וּמַלְכִּיָּהElam,וְעֵילָםand Ezer.וָעָזֶרAnd the singersוַ הַמְשֹׁרְרִיםmade themselves heard,יַּשְׁמִיעוּwith Izrahiahוְיִזְרַחְיָהthe one appointed.הַפָּקִיד
And they sacrificedוַיִּזְבְּחוּon thatבַ הַהוּאdayיּוֹםgreatגְּדוֹלִיםsacrifices,זְבָחִיםand rejoiced,וַיִּשְׂמָחוּforכִּיElohimהָאֱלֹהִיםhad made them rejoiceשִׂמְּחָםwith greatגְדוֹלָהrejoicing;שִׂמְחָהand alsoוְגַםthe womenהַנָּשִׁיםand the childrenוְהַיְלָדִיםrejoiced.שָׂמֵחוּAnd the rejoicingשִׂמְחַתof Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַםwas heardוַתִּשָּׁמַעfrom afar.מֵרָחוֹק
And on thatוַ בַ הַהוּאdayיּוֹםmenאֲנָשִׁיםwere appointedיִּפָּקְדוּoverעַלthe chambersהַנְּשָׁכוֹתfor the treasures,לָאוֹצָרוֹתfor the contributions,לַתְּרוּמוֹתfor the first partלָרֵאשִׁיתand for the tithes,וְלַמַּעַשְׂרוֹתto gatherלִכְנוֹסinto them,בָּהֶםfrom the fieldsלִשְׂדֵיof the cities,הֶעָרִיםthe portionsמְנָאוֹתof the lawהַתּוֹרָהfor the priestsלַכֹּהֲנִיםand for the Levites;וְלַלְוִיִּםforכִּיthe rejoicingשִׂמְחַתof Judahיְהוּדָהwasoverעַלthe priestsהַכֹּהֲנִיםand overוְעַלthe Levitesהַלְוִיִּםwho stoodהָעֹמְדִיםin their place.
And they keptוַיִּשְׁמְרוּthe chargeמִשְׁמֶרֶתof their Elohimאֱלֹהֵיהֶםand the chargeוּמִשְׁמֶרֶתof the purification,הַטָּהֳרָהand the singersוְהַמְשֹׁרְרִיםand the gatekeepers,וְהַשֹּׁעֲרִיםaccording to the commandmentכְּמִצְוַתof Davidדָּוִידand of Solomonשְׁלֹמֹהhis son.בְנוֹ
Forכִּיin the daysבִימֵיof Davidדָוִידand Asaph,וְאָסָףof old,מִקֶּדֶםthere wereheadsרָאשֵׁיof the singersהַמְשֹׁרְרִיםand songוְשִׁירof praiseתְּהִלָּהand thanksgivingsוְהֹדוֹתto Elohim.לֵאלֹהִים
And allוְכָלIsrael,יִשְׂרָאֵלin the daysבִּימֵיof Zerubbabelזְרֻבָּבֶלand in the daysוּבִימֵיof Nehemiah,נְחֶמְיָהwere givingנֹתְנִיםthe portionsמְנָיוֹתof the singersהַמְשֹׁרְרִיםand the gatekeepers,וְהַשֹּׁעֲרִיםwhat was dueדְּבַרeach dayיוֹםon its day;בְּיוֹמוֹand they consecrated themוּמַקְדִּשִׁיםfor the Levites,לַלְוִיִּםand the Levitesוְהַלְוִיִּםconsecrated themמַקְדִּשִׁיםfor the sonsלִבְנֵיof Aaron.אַהֲרֹן
