Happy are thoseΜακάριοιwhoseὧνiniquitiesαἱ ἀνομίαιwere forgivenἀφέθησανandκαὶwhoseὧνsinsαἱ ἁμαρτίαιwere covered;ἐπεκαλύφθησαν

Andκαὶhe receivedἔλαβενthe signσημεῖονof circumcisionπεριτομῆςasa sealσφραγῖδαof the righteousnessτῆς δικαιοσύνηςof the faithτῆς πίστεωςthat he hadτῆςwhileἐνuncircumcised,τῇ ἀκροβυστίᾳso thatεἰς τὸhe would beεἶναι αὐτὸνthe fatherπατέραof allπάντωνwhoτῶνbelieveπιστευόντωνwhile uncircumcised,δι’ ἀκροβυστίαςso thatεἰς τὸrighteousnessτὴν δικαιοσύνηνwould be countedλογισθῆναιto them,αὐτοῖς
andκαὶthe fatherπατέραof the circumcised,περιτομῆςfor those whoτοῖςarenotοὐκonlyμόνονcircumcisedἐκ περιτομῆςbutἀλλὰalsoκαὶwhoτοῖςwalkστοιχοῦσινin the footstepsτοῖς ἴχνεσινof the faithτῆς πίστεωςof our fatherτοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶνAbrahamἈβραάμwhileἐνuncircumcised.ἀκροβυστίᾳ
Forγὰρthe promiseἡ ἐπαγγελίαto Abrahamτῷ Ἀβραὰμorἢto his offspring,τῷ σπέρματι αὐτοῦthatτὸheαὐτὸνwould beεἶναιheirκληρονόμονof the world,κόσμουwasnotΟὐthroughδιὰthe lawνόμουbutἀλλὰthroughδιὰthe righteousnessδικαιοσύνηςof faith.πίστεως
Forγὰρifεἰthoseοἱofἐκthe lawνόμουareheirs,κληρονόμοιfaithἡ πίστιςhas been made emptyκεκένωταιandκαὶthe promiseἡ ἐπαγγελίαhas been nullified.κατήργηται
Forγὰρthe lawὁ νόμοςbrings aboutκατεργάζεταιwrath;ὀργὴνbutδὲwhereοὗthere isἔστινnoοὐκlaw,νόμοςneitherοὐδὲis theretransgression.παράβασις
For this reasonΔιὰ τοῦτοit isbyἐκfaith,πίστεωςso thatἵναit may beaccording toκατὰgrace,χάρινso thatεἰς τὸthe promiseτὴν ἐπαγγελίανmay beεἶναιcertainβεβαίανto allπαντὶthe offspring,τῷ σπέρματιnotοὐonlyμόνονto thoseτῷofἐκthe lawτοῦ νόμουbutἀλλὰalsoκαὶto thoseτῷofἐκthe faithπίστεωςof Abraham,Ἀβραάμwhoὅςisἐστινthe fatherπατὴρof us allπάντων ἡμῶν
(asκαθὼςit is written:γέγραπταιI have madeτέθεικάyouσεa fatherΠατέραof manyπολλῶνnations)ἐθνῶνin the presence ofκατέναντιthe Godθεοῦwhomοὗhe believed,ἐπίστευσενwhoτοῦgives life toζῳοποιοῦντοςthe deadτοὺς νεκροὺςandκαὶcallsκαλοῦντοςthe things thatτὰdo notμὴexistὄνταas thoughὡςthey existed.ὄντα
Heὃςbelieved,ἐπίστευσενinἐπ’hopeἐλπίδιagainstπαρ’hope,ἐλπίδαso thatεἰς τὸhe would becomeγενέσθαι αὐτὸνthe fatherπατέραof manyπολλῶνnationsἐθνῶνaccording toκατὰwhat had been said:τὸ εἰρημένονSoΟὕτωςyour offspringτὸ σπέρμα σουwill be.ἔσται
Andκαὶwithoutμὴweakeningἀσθενήσαςin faith,τῇ πίστειhe consideredκατενόησενhis ownἑαυτοῦbodyτὸ σῶμαdeadνενεκρωμένον(since he wasὑπάρχωνaboutπουa hundred years old),ἑκατονταετήςandκαὶthe deadnessτὴν νέκρωσινof Sarah’sτῆς Σάρραςwomb;μήτρας
yetδὲwith respect toεἰςthe promiseτὴν ἐπαγγελίανof Godτοῦ θεοῦhe did notοὐwaverδιεκρίθηin unbelief,τῇ ἀπιστίᾳbutἀλλὰwas strengthenedἐνεδυναμώθηin faith,τῇ πίστειgivingδοὺςgloryδόξανto God,τῷ θεῷ
andκαὶwasfully convincedπληροφορηθεὶςthatὅτιwhatὃhe had promisedἐπήγγελταιhe wasἐστινableδυνατόςalsoκαὶto do.ποιῆσαι
That is whyδιὸit was countedἐλογίσθηto himαὐτῷasεἰςrighteousness.δικαιοσύνην
Butδὲit was notΟὐκwrittenἐγράφηfor the sake ofδι’himαὐτὸνaloneμόνονthatὅτιit was countedἐλογίσθηto him,αὐτῷ
butἀλλὰalsoκαὶfor the sake ofδι’us,ἡμᾶςto whomοἷςit willμέλλειbe counted,λογίζεσθαιwhoτοῖςbelieveπιστεύουσινinἐπὶhim whoτὸνraisedἐγείρανταJesusἸησοῦνour Lordτὸν κύριον ἡμῶνfromἐκthe dead,νεκρῶν
whoὃςwas handed overπαρεδόθηforδιὰour trespassesτὰ παραπτώματα ἡμῶνandκαὶwas raisedἠγέρθηforδιὰour declaration of righteousness.τὴν δικαίωσιν ἡμῶν
