7-day plan: Faith
Trusting God and Jesus, with stories of those who did and those who doubted.
One passage a day, with a question to think it over. Your progress stays on this device, no account needed.
Day 1 · What faith is
A short description of what faith is
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the proof of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1 · Read the whole chapterTo think about
What does this passage say about what God is like?
Day 2 · Examples of faith
Abraham set out without knowing where he was going
By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place that he was going to receive as an inheritance; and he went out not knowing where he was going. By faith he lived as a resident alien in the land of the promise as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the fellow heirs of the same promise; for he was waiting for the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.

Which word or phrase stays with you, and why?
Day 3 · Believing in Jesus
John wrote his book so that we may believe and have life
Jesus says to him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Happy are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples that are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may go on believing that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.
John 20:29–31 · Read the whole chapterTo think about
John wrote these signs so that we may believe and have life (v. 31). What doubt or question would you like to bring to Jesus today?
Day 4 · Faith you can see in what you do
James: faith without deeds is dead
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it? If a brother or a sister is naked and lacking daily food, and one of you says to them, Go in peace, be warmed and be filled, but you do not give them the things needed for the body, what good is it? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Whom could you treat today with the same attention you would give to someone important?
Day 5 · When believing is hard
A father: “I believe; help my unbelief!”
And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for the one who believes.” At once the father of the child cried out and was saying, “I believe; help my unbelief!”
Mark 9:23–24 · Read the whole chapterTo think about
The father said, “I believe; help my unbelief” (v. 24). What doubt of yours can you bring to him honestly?
Day 6 · What faith is
Faith comes from hearing the message of Christ
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of the Messiah.
Romans 10:17 · Read the whole chapterTo think about
Who made the good news known to you? How can you share something good with someone this week?
Day 7 · Examples of faith
Abraham rises early to obey the hardest test
After these things Elohim tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” He said, “Take, please, your son, your only one, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him up there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains that I will tell you.” Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son. He split the wood for the burnt offering, and he rose and went to the place that Elohim had told him.
