to themοἷςhe alsoκαὶpresentedπαρέστησενhimselfἑαυτὸνaliveζῶνταafterμετὰhisαὐτὸνsufferingτὸ παθεῖνbyἐνmanyπολλοῖςconvincing proofs,τεκμηρίοιςappearingὀπτανόμενοςto themαὐτοῖςoverδι’fortyτεσσεράκονταdaysἡμερῶνandκαὶspeakingλέγωνof the thingsτὰconcerningπερὶthe kingdomτῆς βασιλείαςof God.τοῦ θεοῦ
Andκαὶwhile gathered together with them,συναλιζόμενοςhe orderedπαρήγγειλενthemαὐτοῖςnotμὴto leaveχωρίζεσθαιJerusalem,ἀπὸ Ἱεροσολύμωνbutἀλλὰto wait forπεριμένεινthe promiseτὴν ἐπαγγελίανof the Father,τοῦ πατρὸς“whichἣνyou heardἠκούσατέfrom me;μου
forὅτιJohnἸωάννηςimmersedἐβάπτισενin water,ὕδατιbutδὲyouὑμεῖςwill be immersedβαπτισθήσεσθεinἐνthe Holy Spiritπνεύματι ἁγίῳnotοὐmanyπολλὰςdaysἡμέραςfrom now.”μετὰ ταύτας
Soμὲν οὖνthose whoΟἱhad come togetherσυνελθόντεςwere askingἠρώτωνhim,αὐτὸνsaying,λέγοντες“Lord,Κύριεare you restoringἀποκαθιστάνειςthe kingdomτὴν βασιλείανto Israelτῷ Ἰσραήλatἐνthisτούτῳtime?”τῷ χρόνῳ
He saidεἶπενtoπρὸςthem,αὐτούς“It isἐστινnotΟὐχfor youὑμῶνto knowγνῶναιtimesχρόνουςorἢseasonsκαιροὺςthatοὓςthe Fatherὁ πατὴρhas setἔθετοbyἐνhis ownτῇ ἰδίᾳauthority;ἐξουσίᾳ
butἀλλὰyou will receiveλήμψεσθεpowerδύναμινwhenἐπελθόντοςthe Holy Spiritτοῦ ἁγίου πνεύματοςcomesἐπελθόντοςuponἐφ’you,ὑμᾶςandκαὶyou will beἔσεσθέmyμουwitnessesμάρτυρεςbothτεinἔνJerusalemἸερουσαλὴμandκαὶinἐνallπάσῃJudeaτῇ ἸουδαίᾳandκαὶSamaria,Σαμαρείᾳandκαὶtoἕωςthe endἐσχάτουof the earth.”τῆς γῆς
Andκαὶhaving saidεἰπὼνthese things,ταῦταas theyαὐτῶνwere watching,βλεπόντωνhe was lifted up,ἐπήρθηandκαὶa cloudνεφέληtookὑπέλαβενhimαὐτὸνout ofἀπὸtheirαὐτῶνsight.τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν
Andκαὶasὡςthey wereἦσανgazingἀτενίζοντεςintoεἰςheavenτὸν οὐρανὸνwhile heαὐτοῦwas going,πορευομένουlook,ἰδοὺtwoδύοmenἄνδρεςstoodπαρειστήκεισανby themαὐτοῖςinἐνwhiteλευκαῖςclothing,ἐσθήσεσι
whoοἳalsoκαὶsaid,εἶπαν“MenἌνδρεςof Galilee,Γαλιλαῖοιwhyτίdo you standἑστήκατεlookingβλέποντεςintoεἰςheaven?τὸν οὐρανόνThisοὗτοςJesus,ὁ Ἰησοῦςwhoὁhas been taken upἀναλημφθεὶςfromἀφ’youὑμῶνintoεἰςheaven,τὸν οὐρανὸνwill comeἐλεύσεταιin this way,οὕτωςjust asὃν τρόπονyou sawἐθεάσασθεhimαὐτὸνgoingπορευόμενονintoεἰςheaven.”τὸν οὐρανόν
ThenΤότεthey returnedὑπέστρεψανtoεἰςJerusalemἸερουσαλὴμfromἀπὸthe mountὄρουςcalledτοῦ καλουμένουOlivet,ἘλαιῶνοςwhichὅisἐστινnearἐγγὺςJerusalem,Ἰερουσαλὴμa Sabbathσαββάτουday’s journeyὁδόνaway.ἔχον
Andκαὶwhenὅτεthey had entered,εἰσῆλθονthey went upἀνέβησανtoεἰςthe upper roomτὸ ὑπερῷονwhereοὗthey wereἦσανstaying:καταμένοντεςPeterὅ ΠέτροςandκαὶJohnἸωάννηςandκαὶJamesἸάκωβοςandκαὶAndrew,ἈνδρέαςPhilipΦίλιπποςandκαὶThomas,ΘωμᾶςBartholomewΒαρθολομαῖοςandκαὶMatthew,ΜαθθαῖοςJamesἸάκωβοςson of Alphaeus,ἉλφαίουandκαὶSimonΣίμωνthe Zealot,ὁ ζηλωτὴςandκαὶJudasἸούδαςson of James.Ἰακώβου
Allπάντεςtheseοὗτοιwereἦσανdevoting themselvesπροσκαρτεροῦντεςwith one mindὁμοθυμαδὸνto prayer,τῇ προσευχῇtogether withσὺνthe womenγυναιξὶνandκαὶMaryΜαριὰμthe motherτῇ μητρὶof Jesus,τοῦ Ἰησοῦandκαὶwithσὺνhisαὐτοῦbrothers.τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς
AndΚαὶinἐνtheseταύταιςdaysταῖς ἡμέραιςPeterΠέτροςstood upἀναστὰςinἐνthe midstμέσῳof the brothersτῶν ἀδελφῶνand saidεἶπεν(andτεthere wasἦνa crowdὄχλοςof personsὀνομάτωνgathered together,ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸaboutὡςa hundredἑκατὸνand twenty):εἴκοσι
“Brothers,Ἄνδρες ἀδελφοίthe Scriptureτὴν γραφὴνhadἔδειto be fulfilledπληρωθῆναιwhichἣνthe Holy Spiritτὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιονspoke beforehandπροεῖπεbyδιὰthe mouthστόματοςof DavidΔαυὶδconcerningπερὶJudas,Ἰούδαwhoτοῦbecameγενομένουa guideὁδηγοῦto those whoτοῖςarrestedσυλλαβοῦσινJesus,Ἰησοῦν

Nowμὲν οὖνthis manΟὗτοςacquiredἐκτήσατοa fieldχωρίονwithἐκthe wagesμισθοῦof his unrighteousness,τῆς ἀδικίαςandκαὶfallingγενόμενοςheadlong,πρηνὴςhe burst openἐλάκησενin the middle,μέσοςandκαὶallπάνταhisαὐτοῦbowelsτὰ σπλάγχναpoured out.ἐξεχύθη
Andκαὶit becameἐγένετοknownγνωστὸνto allπᾶσιthose who liveτοῖς κατοικοῦσινin Jerusalem,Ἰερουσαλήμso thatὥστεthatἐκεῖνοfieldτὸ χωρίονwas calledκληθῆναιin their ownτῇ ἰδίᾳ αὐτῶνlanguageδιαλέκτῳAkeldama,Ἁκελδαμάχthat is,τοῦτ’ ἔστινFieldΧωρίονof Blood.Αἵματος

Soοὖνit is necessary,δεῖof the menτῶν ἀνδρῶνwho have accompaniedσυνελθόντωνusἡμῖνduringἐνallπαντὶthe timeχρόνῳthatᾧthe Lordὁ κύριοςJesusἸησοῦςwent inεἰσῆλθενandκαὶwent outἐξῆλθενamongἐφ’us,ἡμᾶς
beginningἀρξάμενοςfromἀπὸthe immersionτοῦ βαπτίσματοςof JohnἸωάννουuntilἕωςthe dayτῆς ἡμέραςon whichἧςhe was taken upἀνελήμφθηfromἀφ’us,ἡμῶνthat oneἕναof theseτούτωνbecomeγενέσθαιa witnessμάρτυραwithσὺνusἡμῖνof hisαὐτοῦresurrection.”τῆς ἀναστάσεως
Andκαὶthey put forwardἔστησανtwo,δύοJosephἸωσὴφcalledτὸν καλούμενονBarsabbas,Βαρσαββᾶνwhoὃςwas also calledἐπεκλήθηJustus,ἸοῦστοςandκαὶMatthias.Μαθθίαν
