Simon Peter,Σίμων ΠέτροςandκαὶThomas,Θωμᾶςwhoὁis calledλεγόμενοςDidymus,ΔίδυμοςandκαὶNathanael,ΝαθαναὴλwhoὁwasfromἀπὸCanaΚανὰof Galilee,τῆς Γαλιλαίαςandκαὶthe sons of Zebedee,οἱ τοῦ Ζεβεδαίουandκαὶtwoδύοothersἄλλοιofἐκhis disciplesτῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦwereἦσανtogether.ὁμοῦ
Simon PeterΣίμων Πέτροςsaysλέγειto them,αὐτοῖς“I am goingὙπάγωfishing.”ἁλιεύεινThey sayλέγουσινto him,αὐτῷ“Weἡμεῖςalsoκαὶare comingἘρχόμεθαwithσὺνyou.”σοίThey went outἐξῆλθονandκαὶgotἐνέβησανintoεἰςthe boat,τὸ πλοῖονandκαὶthatἐκείνῃnightἐν τῇ νυκτὶthey caughtἐπίασανnothing.οὐδέν
Whenδὲit wasγενομένηςalreadyἤδηearly morning,ΠρωΐαςJesusἸησοῦςstoodἔστηonεἰςthe shore;τὸν αἰγιαλόνyetμέντοιthe disciplesοἱ μαθηταὶdid notοὐknowᾔδεισανthatὅτιit wasἐστινJesus.Ἰησοῦς
SoοὖνJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaysλέγειto them,αὐτοῖς“Children,Παιδίαyou do notμήhaveἔχετεanyτιfish,προσφάγιονdo you?”μήThey answeredἀπεκρίθησανhim,αὐτῷ“No.”Οὔ
Andδὲheὁsaidεἶπενto them,αὐτοῖς“CastΒάλετεthe netτὸ δίκτυονonεἰςthe rightτὰ δεξιὰsideμέρηof the boat,τοῦ πλοίουandκαὶyou will find some.”εὑρήσετεSoοὖνthey cast it,ἔβαλονandκαὶthey were no longerοὐκέτιableἴσχυονto haulἑλκύσαιitαὐτὸinἑλκύσαιbecause ofἀπὸthe great numberτοῦ πλήθουςof fish.τῶν ἰχθύων
Soοὖνthat discipleὁ μαθητὴς ἐκεῖνοςwhomὃνJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςlovedἠγάπαsaysλέγειto Peter,τῷ Πέτρῳ“It isἐστινthe Lord!”Ὁ κύριόςSoοὖνwhen SimonΣίμωνPeterΠέτροςheardἀκούσαςthatὅτιit wasἐστινthe Lord,ὁ κύριόςhe tiedδιεζώσατοhis outer garmentτὸν ἐπενδύτηνaround himself,διεζώσατοforγὰρhe wasἦνstripped for work,γυμνόςandκαὶthrewἔβαλενhimselfἑαυτὸνintoεἰςthe sea.τὴν θάλασσαν
Butδὲthe otherοἱ ἄλλοιdisciplesμαθηταὶcameἦλθονin the little boat,τῷ πλοιαρίῳforγὰρthey wereἦσανnotοὐfarμακρὰνfromἀπὸthe land,τῆς γῆςbutἀλλὰaboutὡςtwo hundredδιακοσίωνcubitsπηχῶνoff,ἀπὸdraggingσύροντεςthe netτὸ δίκτυονfull of fish.τῶν ἰχθύων
SoοὖνwhenὩςthey got outἀπέβησανonεἰςthe land,τὴν γῆνthey seeβλέπουσινa charcoal fireἀνθρακιὰνin placeκειμένηνandκαὶfishὀψάριονlying on itἐπικείμενονandκαὶbread.ἄρτον
Jesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaysλέγειto them,αὐτοῖς“BringἘνέγκατεsome ofἀπὸthe fishτῶν ὀψαρίωνthatὧνyou have caughtἐπιάσατεnow.”νῦν
SoοὖνSimon PeterΣίμων Πέτροςwent upἀνέβηandκαὶhauledεἵλκυσενthe netτὸ δίκτυονtoεἰςland,τὴν γῆνfullμεστὸνof largeμεγάλωνfish,ἰχθύωνa hundredἑκατὸνfifty-three;πεντήκοντα τριῶνandκαὶalthough there wereὄντωνso many,τοσούτωνthe netτὸ δίκτυονwas notοὐκtorn.ἐσχίσθη
Jesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaysλέγειto them,αὐτοῖς“Come,Δεῦτεhave breakfast.”ἀριστήσατεButδὲnoneοὐδεὶςof the disciplesτῶν μαθητῶνdaredἐτόλμαto askἐξετάσαιhim,αὐτόν“Whoτίςareεἶyou?”Σὺknowingεἰδότεςthatὅτιit wasἐστινthe Lord.ὁ κύριός
Jesusὁ Ἰησοῦςcomesἔρχεταιandκαὶtakesλαμβάνειthe breadτὸν ἄρτονandκαὶgives itδίδωσινto them,αὐτοῖςandκαὶthe fishτὸ ὀψάριονlikewise.ὁμοίως
Thisτοῦτοwas nowἤδηthe third timeτρίτονthat Jesusὁ Ἰησοῦςwas revealedἐφανερώθηto the disciplesτοῖς μαθηταῖςafter being raisedἐγερθεὶςfromἐκthe dead.νεκρῶν
SoοὖνwhenὍτεthey had had breakfast,ἠρίστησανJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaysλέγειto Simonτῷ ΣίμωνιPeter,Πέτρῳ“Simon,Σίμωνson of John,Ἰωάννουdo you loveἀγαπᾷςmeμεmoreπλέονthan these?”τούτωνHe saysλέγειto him,αὐτῷ“Yes,ΝαίLord;κύριεyouσὺknowοἶδαςthatὅτιI hold you dear.”φιλῶ σεHe saysλέγειto him,αὐτῷ“FeedΒόσκεmy lambs.”τὰ ἀρνία μου
He saysλέγειto himαὐτῷagain,πάλινa second time,δεύτερον“Simon,Σίμωνson of John,Ἰωάννουdo you loveἀγαπᾷςme?”μεHe saysλέγειto him,αὐτῷ“Yes,ΝαίLord;κύριεyouσὺknowοἶδαςthatὅτιI hold you dear.”φιλῶ σεHe saysλέγειto him,αὐτῷ“ShepherdΠοίμαινεmy sheep.”τὰ πρόβατά μου
He saysλέγειto himαὐτῷthe third time,τὸ τρίτον“Simon,Σίμωνson of John,Ἰωάννουdo you hold me dear?”φιλεῖς μεPeterὁ Πέτροςwas grievedἐλυπήθηbecauseὅτιhe saidεἶπενto himαὐτῷthe third time,τὸ τρίτον“Do you hold me dear?”Φιλεῖς μεAndκαὶhe saidεἶπενto him,αὐτῷ“Lord,Κύριεyouσὺknowοἶδαςall things;πάνταyouσὺknowγινώσκειςthatὅτιI hold you dear.”φιλῶ σεJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaysλέγειto him,αὐτῷ“FeedΒόσκεmy sheep.τὰ πρόβατά μου
Truly,ἀμὴνtruly,ἀμὴνI tellλέγωyou,σοιwhenὅτεyou wereἦςyounger,νεώτεροςyou used to dressἐζώννυεςyourselfσεαυτὸνandκαὶwalkπεριεπάτειςwhereverὅπουyou wanted;ἤθελεςbutδὲwhenὅτανyou grow old,γηράσῃςyou will stretch outἐκτενεῖςyour hands,τὰς χεῖράς σουandκαὶsomeone elseἄλλοςwill dressζώσειyouσεandκαὶcarry youοἴσειwhereὅπουyou do notοὐwant to go.”θέλεις
He saidεἶπενthisτοῦτοto showσημαίνωνby what kind ofποίῳdeathθανάτῳhe would glorifyδοξάσειGod.τὸν θεόνAndκαὶhaving saidεἰπὼνthis,τοῦτοhe saysλέγειto him,αὐτῷ“FollowἈκολούθειme.”μοι
Peter,ὁ Πέτροςturning around,Ἐπιστραφεὶςseesβλέπειthe discipleτὸν μαθητὴνwhomὃνJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςlovedἠγάπαfollowing,ἀκολουθοῦνταthe one whoὃςhad alsoκαὶleaned backἀνέπεσενatἐνthe supperτῷ δείπνῳagainstἐπὶhis chestτὸ στῆθος αὐτοῦandκαὶsaid,εἶπεν“Lord,Κύριεwhoτίςisἐστινthe one whoὁis handingπαραδιδούςyouσεover?”παραδιδούς
Soοὖνwhen Peterὁ Πέτροςsawἰδὼνhim,τοῦτονhe saysλέγειto Jesus,τῷ Ἰησοῦ“Lord,Κύριεandδὲwhatτίabout this man?”οὗτος
Jesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaysλέγειto him,αὐτῷ“IfἘὰνI wantθέλωhimαὐτὸνto remainμένεινuntilἕωςI come,ἔρχομαιwhatτίis that toπρὸςyou?σέYouσύfollowἀκολούθειme!”μοι
Soοὖνthisοὗτοςwordὁ λόγοςwent outἐξῆλθενamongεἰςthe brothers,τοὺς ἀδελφοὺςthatὅτιthatἐκεῖνοςdiscipleὁ μαθητὴςwould notοὐκdie;ἀποθνῄσκειyetδὲJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςdid notοὐκsayεἶπενto himαὐτῷthatὅτιhe would notοὐκdie,ἀποθνῄσκειbut,ἀλλ’“IfἘὰνI wantθέλωhimαὐτὸνto remainμένεινuntilἕωςI come,ἔρχομαιwhatτίis that toπρὸςyou?”σέ
ThisΟὗτόςisἐστινthe discipleὁ μαθητὴςwhoὁtestifiesμαρτυρῶνaboutπερὶthese thingsτούτωνandκαὶwhoὁwroteγράψαςthese things,ταῦταandκαὶwe knowοἴδαμενthatὅτιhis testimonyαὐτοῦ ἡ μαρτυρίαisἐστίνtrue.ἀληθὴς
Nowδὲthere areἔστινalsoκαὶmanyπολλὰother thingsἄλλαthatἃJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςdid;ἐποίησενifἐὰνevery one of themἅτινα καθ’ ἕνwere written down,γράφηταιI supposeοἶμαιthat not evenοὐδ’the worldτὸν κόσμονitselfαὐτὸνcould holdχωρήσεινthe booksβιβλίαthat would be written.τὰ γραφόμενα
