Rememberוְזָכַרְתָּallאֶת כָּלthe wayהַדֶּרֶךְthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָhas led youהֹלִיכֲךָtheseזֶהfortyאַרְבָּעִיםyearsשָׁנָהin the wilderness,בַּמִּדְבָּרin order toלְמַעַןafflict you,עַנֹּתְךָto test you,לְנַסֹּתְךָto knowלָדַעַתwhatאֶת אֲשֶׁרwas in your heart,בִּלְבָבְךָwhetherהֲyou would keepתִשְׁמֹרhis commandmentsמִצְוֺתָיוorאִםnot.לֹא
He afflicted youוַיְעַנְּךָand let you hungerוַיַּרְעִבֶךָand fed youוַיַּאֲכִלְךָthe manna,אֶת הַמָּןwhichאֲשֶׁרyou did notלֹאknowיָדַעְתָּandוְyour fathersאֲבֹתֶיךָdid notלֹאknow,יָדְעוּןin order toלְמַעַןmake you knowהוֹדִעֲךָthatכִּיnotלֹאbyעַלbreadהַלֶּחֶםaloneלְבַדּוֹdoes a human beingהָאָדָםlive,יִחְיֶהbutכִּיbyעַלeverythingכָּלthat comes outמוֹצָאof the mouthפִיof YHWHיְהוָהdoes a human beingהָאָדָםlive.יִחְיֶה
Your cloakשִׂמְלָתְךָdid notלֹאwear outבָלְתָהon you,מֵעָלֶיךָand your footוְרַגְלְךָdid notלֹאswellבָצֵקָהtheseזֶהfortyאַרְבָּעִיםyears.שָׁנָה
Knowוְיָדַעְתָּinעִםyour heartלְבָבֶךָthatכִּיasכַּאֲשֶׁרa manאִישׁdisciplinesיְיַסֵּרhis son,אֶת בְּנוֹYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָdisciplines you.מְיַסְּרֶךָּ
So keepוְשָׁמַרְתָּthe commandmentsאֶת מִצְוֺתof YHWHיְהוָהyour Elohim,אֱלֹהֶיךָwalkingלָלֶכֶתin his waysבִּדְרָכָיוand fearingוּלְיִרְאָהhim.אֹתוֹ
ForכִּיYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָis bringing youמְבִיאֲךָintoאֶלa goodטוֹבָהland,אֶרֶץa landאֶרֶץof streamsנַחֲלֵיof water,מָיִםof springsעֲיָנֹתand deepsוּתְהֹמֹתflowing outיֹצְאִיםin the plainבַּבִּקְעָהand on the mountain;וּבָהָר
a landאֶרֶץof wheatחִטָּהand barley,וּשְׂעֹרָהof vines,וְגֶפֶןfig trees,וּתְאֵנָהand pomegranates,וְרִמּוֹןa landאֶרֶץof olive treesזֵיתfor oilשֶׁמֶןand of honey;וּדְבָשׁ
a landאֶרֶץin whichאֲשֶׁר בָּהּyou will eatתֹּאכַלbreadלֶחֶםwithoutלֹאscarcity,בְמִסְכֵּנֻתyou will notלֹאlackתֶחְסַרanythingכֹּלin it;בָּהּa landאֶרֶץwhoseאֲשֶׁרstonesאֲבָנֶיהָare iron,בַרְזֶלand from whose hillsוּמֵהֲרָרֶיהָyou will dig outתַּחְצֹבcopper.נְחֹשֶׁת
You will eatוְאָכַלְתָּand be satisfied,וְשָׂבָעְתָּand you shall blessוּבֵרַכְתָּYHWHאֶת יְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָforעַלthe goodהַטֹּבָהlandהָאָרֶץthatאֲשֶׁרhe has givenנָתַןyou.לָךְ
Guard yourselfהִשָּׁמֶר לְךָso that you do notפֶּןforgetתִּשְׁכַּחYHWHאֶת יְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָby notלְבִלְתִּיkeepingשְׁמֹרhis commandments,מִצְוֺתָיוhis rules,וּמִשְׁפָּטָיוand his statutesוְחֻקֹּתָיוthatאֲשֶׁרIאָנֹכִיam commanding youמְצַוְּךָtoday;הַיּוֹם
lestפֶּןyou eatתֹּאכַלand are satisfied,וְשָׂבָעְתָּand buildתִּבְנֶהgoodטוֹבִיםhousesוּבָתִּיםand live in them,וְיָשָׁבְתָּ
and your herdsוּבְקָרְךָand your flocksוְצֹאנְךָmultiply,יִרְבְּיֻןand silverוְכֶסֶףand goldוְזָהָבmultiplyיִרְבֶּהfor you,לָּךְand allוְכֹלthatאֲשֶׁרyou haveלְךָmultiplies,יִרְבֶּה
and your heartוְ לְבָבֶךָis lifted up,רָםand you forgetוְשָׁכַחְתָּYHWHאֶת יְהוָהyour Elohim,אֱלֹהֶיךָwho brought you outהַמּוֹצִיאֲךָof the landמֵאֶרֶץof Egypt,מִצְרַיִםout of the houseמִבֵּיתof slaves,עֲבָדִים
who led youהַמּוֹלִיכֲךָthrough the greatהַגָּדֹלand fearsomeוְהַנּוֹרָאwilderness,בַּמִּדְבָּרwith burningשָׂרָףserpentנָחָשׁand scorpion,וְעַקְרָבand parched groundוְצִמָּאוֹןwhereאֲשֶׁרthere was noאֵיןwater,מָיִםwho brought outהַמּוֹצִיאfor youלְךָwaterמַיִםfrom the rockמִצּוּרof flint,הַחַלָּמִישׁ
who fed youהַמַּאֲכִלְךָmannaמָןin the wilderness,בַּמִּדְבָּרwhichאֲשֶׁרyour fathersאֲבֹתֶיךָdid notלֹאknow,יָדְעוּןin order toלְמַעַןafflict youעַנֹּתְךָand in order toוּלְמַעַןtest you,נַסֹּתֶךָto do you goodלְהֵיטִבְךָin the end;בְּאַחֲרִיתֶךָ
and you sayוְאָמַרְתָּin your heart,בִּלְבָבֶךָ“My strengthכֹּחִיand the mightוְעֹצֶםof my handיָדִיhave madeעָשָׂהfor meלִיthisהַזֶּהwealth.”אֶת הַחַיִל
RememberוְזָכַרְתָּYHWHאֶת יְהוָהyour Elohim,אֱלֹהֶיךָforכִּיit is heהוּאwho givesהַנֹּתֵןyouלְךָstrengthכֹּחַto makeלַעֲשׂוֹתwealth,חָיִלin order toלְמַעַןestablishהָקִיםhis covenantאֶת בְּרִיתוֹthatאֲשֶׁרhe sworeנִשְׁבַּעto your fathers,לַאֲבֹתֶיךָas it is thisכַּ הַזֶּהday.יּוֹם
But it will be,וְהָיָהifאִםyou do forgetשָׁכֹחַ תִּשְׁכַּחYHWHאֶת יְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָand goוְהָלַכְתָּafterאַחֲרֵיotherאֲחֵרִיםgodsאֱלֹהִיםand serve themוַעֲבַדְתָּםand bow downוְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתָto them,לָהֶםI testifyהַעִדֹתִיagainst youבָכֶםtodayהַיּוֹםthatכִּיyou will surely perish.אָבֹד תֹּאבֵדוּן
Like the nationsכַּגּוֹיִםthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהmakes perishמַאֲבִידbefore you,מִפְּנֵיכֶםsoכֵּןyou will perish,תֹאבֵדוּןbecauseעֵקֶבyou did notלֹאlistenתִשְׁמְעוּןto the voiceבְּקוֹלof YHWHיְהוָהyour Elohim.אֱלֹהֵיכֶם
