ToוְאֶלMosesמֹשֶׁהhe said,אָמַר“Come upעֲלֵהtoאֶלYHWH,יְהוָהyouאַתָּהand Aaron,וְאַהֲרֹןNadabנָדָבand Abihu,וַאֲבִיהוּאand seventyוְשִׁבְעִיםof the eldersמִזִּקְנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלand bow downוְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶםfrom a distance.מֵרָחֹק
Mosesמֹשֶׁהaloneלְבַדּוֹshall come nearוְנִגַּשׁtoאֶלYHWH,יְהוָהbut theyוְהֵםshall not come near,לֹא יִגָּשׁוּand the peopleוְהָעָםshall not come upלֹא יַעֲלוּwith him.”עִמּוֹ
Mosesמֹשֶׁהcameוַיָּבֹאand toldוַיְסַפֵּרthe peopleלָעָםallאֵת כָּלthe wordsדִּבְרֵיof YHWHיְהוָהand allוְאֵת כָּלthe rules.הַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםAnd allוַ כָּלthe peopleהָעָםansweredיַּעַןwith oneאֶחָדvoiceקוֹלand said,וַיֹּאמְרוּ“Allכָּלthe wordsהַדְּבָרִיםthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhas spokenדִּבֶּרwe will do.”נַעֲשֶׂה
Mosesמֹשֶׁהwroteוַיִּכְתֹּבallאֵת כָּלthe wordsדִּבְרֵיof YHWH.יְהוָהHe rose earlyוַיַּשְׁכֵּםin the morningבַּבֹּקֶרand builtוַיִּבֶןan altarמִזְבֵּחַat the footתַּחַתof the mountain,הָהָרand twelveוּשְׁתֵּים עֶשְׂרֵהstanding stonesמַצֵּבָהfor the twelveלִשְׁנֵים עָשָׂרtribesשִׁבְטֵיof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵל
He sentוַיִּשְׁלַחyoung menאֶת נַעֲרֵיof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלand they offeredוַיַּעֲלוּburnt offeringsעֹלֹתand sacrificedוַיִּזְבְּחוּbullsפָּרִיםas sacrificesזְבָחִיםof peaceשְׁלָמִיםto YHWH.לַיהוָה
Mosesמֹשֶׁהtookוַיִּקַּחhalfחֲצִיof the bloodהַדָּםand put itוַיָּשֶׂםin basins,בָּאַגָּנֹתand halfוַחֲצִיof the bloodהַדָּםhe splashedזָרַקonעַלthe altar.הַמִּזְבֵּחַ
Then he tookוַיִּקַּחthe bookסֵפֶרof the covenantהַבְּרִיתand read itוַיִּקְרָאin the hearingבְּאָזְנֵיof the people,הָעָםand they said,וַיֹּאמְרוּ“AllכֹּלthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhas spokenדִּבֶּרwe will do,נַעֲשֶׂהand we will listen.”וְנִשְׁמָע
Mosesמֹשֶׁהtookוַיִּקַּחthe bloodאֶת הַדָּםand splashed itוַיִּזְרֹקonעַלthe peopleהָעָםand said,וַיֹּאמֶר“Look,הִנֵּהthe bloodדַםof the covenantהַבְּרִיתthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhas madeכָּרַתwith youעִמָּכֶםin accordance withעַלallכָּלtheseהָאֵלֶּהwords.”הַדְּבָרִים
Mosesמֹשֶׁהwent up,וַיַּעַלand Aaron,וְאַהֲרֹןNadabנָדָבand Abihu,וַאֲבִיהוּאand seventyוְשִׁבְעִיםof the eldersמִזִּקְנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵל
and they sawוַיִּרְאוּthe Elohimאֵת אֱלֹהֵיof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵלUnderוְתַחַתhis feetרַגְלָיוthere was something like a workכְּמַעֲשֵׂהof pavementלִבְנַתof sapphire,הַסַּפִּירand like the veryוּכְעֶצֶםheavensהַשָּׁמַיִםfor clearness.לָטֹהַר
But againstוְאֶלthe leadersאֲצִילֵיof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלhe did not stretch outלֹא שָׁלַחhis hand;יָדוֹthey beheldוַיֶּחֱזוּElohim,אֶת הָאֱלֹהִיםand they ateוַיֹּאכְלוּand drank.וַיִּשְׁתּוּ
YHWHיְהוָהsaidוַיֹּאמֶרtoאֶלMoses,מֹשֶׁה“Come upעֲלֵהto meאֵלַיon the mountainהָהָרָהand beוֶהְיֵהthere,שָׁםand I will giveוְאֶתְּנָהyouלְךָthe tabletsאֶת לֻחֹתof stone,הָאֶבֶןwith the instructionוְהַתּוֹרָהand the commandmentוְהַמִּצְוָהthatאֲשֶׁרI have writtenכָּתַבְתִּיto teach them.”לְהוֹרֹתָם
Mosesמֹשֶׁהrose,וַיָּקָםwith Joshuaוִיהוֹשֻׁעַhis attendant,מְשָׁרְתוֹand Mosesמֹשֶׁהwent upוַיַּעַלtoאֶלthe mountainהַרof Elohim.הָאֱלֹהִים
Toוְאֶלthe eldersהַזְּקֵנִיםhe said,אָמַר“Waitשְׁבוּfor usלָנוּhereבָזֶהuntilעַד אֲשֶׁרwe returnנָשׁוּבto you.אֲלֵיכֶםLook,וְהִנֵּהAaronאַהֲרֹןand Hurוְחוּרare with you;עִמָּכֶםwhoeverמִיhas a matter,בַעַל דְּבָרִיםlet him goיִגַּשׁto them.”אֲלֵהֶם
Mosesמֹשֶׁהwent upוַיַּעַלtoאֶלthe mountain,הָהָרand the cloudוַ הֶעָנָןcoveredיְכַסthe mountain.אֶת הָהָר
The gloryכְּבוֹדof YHWHיְהוָהdweltוַיִּשְׁכֹּןonעַלMountהַרSinai,סִינַיand the cloudוַ הֶעָנָןcovered itיְכַסֵּהוּsixשֵׁשֶׁתdays;יָמִיםand on the seventhבַּ הַשְּׁבִיעִיdayיּוֹםhe calledוַיִּקְרָאtoאֶלMosesמֹשֶׁהfromמִthe midstתּוֹךְof the cloud.הֶעָנָן
The appearanceוּמַרְאֵהof the gloryכְּבוֹדof YHWHיְהוָהwas like a consumingכְּ אֹכֶלֶתfireאֵשׁon the topבְּרֹאשׁof the mountainהָהָרin the eyesלְעֵינֵיof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵל
Mosesמֹשֶׁהenteredוַיָּבֹאthe midstבְּתוֹךְof the cloudהֶעָנָןand went upוַיַּעַלontoאֶלthe mountain;הָהָרand Mosesמֹשֶׁהwasוַיְהִיon the mountainבָּהָרfortyאַרְבָּעִיםdaysיוֹםand fortyוְאַרְבָּעִיםnights.לָיְלָה
