And the wordוַ דְבַרof YHWHיְהוָהcameיְהִיto me,אֵלַיsaying,לֵאמֹר
“Sonבֶּןof man,אָדָםsetשִׂיםyour faceפָּנֶיךָtoward the sonsאֶל בְּנֵיof Ammon,עַמּוֹןand prophesyוְהִנָּבֵאagainst them,עֲלֵיהֶם
and sayוְאָמַרְתָּto the sonsלִבְנֵיof Ammon:עַמּוֹן‘Hearשִׁמְעוּthe wordדְּבַרof AdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH!יְהוִהThusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִהBecauseיַעַןyou said,אָמְרֵךְ“Aha!”הֶאָחover my sanctuaryאֶל מִקְדָּשִׁיbecauseכִיit was profaned,נִחָלand over the groundוְאֶל אַדְמַתof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלbecauseכִּיit was made desolate,נָשַׁמָּהand over the houseוְאֶל בֵּיתof Judahיְהוּדָהbecauseכִּיthey wentהָלְכוּinto exile,בַּגּוֹלָה
therefore,לָכֵןlook, I amהִנְנִיgiving youנֹתְנָךְto the sonsלִבְנֵיof the eastקֶדֶםas a possession,לְמוֹרָשָׁהand they will set upוְיִשְּׁבוּtheir encampmentsטִירוֹתֵיהֶםin youבָּךְand placeוְנָתְנוּtheir dwellingsמִשְׁכְּנֵיהֶםin you;בָךְtheyהֵמָּהwill eatיֹאכְלוּyour fruit,פִרְיֵךְand theyוְהֵמָּהwill drinkיִשְׁתּוּyour milk.חֲלָבֵךְ
And I will makeוְנָתַתִּיRabbahאֶת רַבָּהa foldלִנְוֵהfor camelsגְמַלִּיםand the sonsוְאֶת בְּנֵיof Ammonעַמּוֹןa resting placeלְמִרְבַּץfor flocks;צֹאןand you will knowוִידַעְתֶּםthatכִּיI amאֲנִיYHWH.יְהוָה
ForכִּיthusכֹהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִהBecauseיַעַןyou clappedמַחְאֲךָyour handיָדand stampedוְרַקְעֲךָwith your footבְּרָגֶלand rejoicedוַתִּשְׂמַחwith allבְּכָלyour contemptשָׁאטְךָof soulבְּנֶפֶשׁagainst the groundאֶל אַדְמַתof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵל
therefore,לָכֵןlook, Iהִנְנִיhave stretched outנָטִיתִיmy handאֶת יָדִיagainst you,עָלֶיךָand I will give youוּנְתַתִּיךָas plunderלְבַזto the nations,לַגּוֹיִםand I will cut you offוְהִכְרַתִּיךָfrom the peoplesמִן הָעַמִּיםand make you perishוְהַאֲבַדְתִּיךָfrom the lands;מִן הָאֲרָצוֹתI will exterminate you;אַשְׁמִידְךָand you will knowוְיָדַעְתָּthatכִּיI amאֲנִיYHWH.יְהוָה
ThusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִהBecauseיַעַןMoabמוֹאָבand Seirוְשֵׂעִירsay,אֲמֹר“Look,הִנֵּהlike allכְּכָלthe nationsהַגּוֹיִםis the houseבֵּיתof Judah,”יְהוּדָה
therefore,לָכֵןlook, I amהִנְנִיopeningפֹתֵחַthe shoulderאֶת כֶּתֶףof Moabמוֹאָבfrom the cities,מֵהֶעָרִיםfrom its cities,מֵעָרָיוfrom its edge,מִקָּצֵהוּthe jewelצְבִיof the land,אֶרֶץBeth-jeshimoth,בֵּית הַיְשִׁימֹתBaal-meon,בַּעַל מְעוֹןand Kiriathaim,וְקִרְיָתָיְמָה
to the sonsלִבְנֵיof the east,קֶדֶםalong with the sonsעַל בְּנֵיof Ammon;עַמּוֹןand I will give itוּנְתַתִּיהָas a possession,לְמוֹרָשָׁהso thatלְמַעַןthe sonsבְּנֵיof Ammonעַמּוֹןwill notלֹאbe rememberedתִזָּכֵרamong the nations.בַּגּוֹיִם
And on MoabוּבְמוֹאָבI will executeאֶעֱשֶׂהjudgments;שְׁפָטִיםand they will knowוְיָדְעוּthatכִּיI amאֲנִיYHWH.יְהוָה
ThusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִהBecauseיַעַןEdomאֱדוֹםactedעֲשׂוֹתby takingבִּנְקֹםvengeanceנָקָםon the houseלְבֵיתof Judah,יְהוּדָהand they becameוַיֶּאְשְׁמוּvery guiltyאָשׁוֹםand took vengeanceוְנִקְּמוּon them,בָהֶם
thereforeלָכֵןthusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִהI will stretch outוְנָטִתִיmy handיָדִיagainst Edomעַל אֱדוֹםand cut offוְהִכְרַתִּיfrom itמִמֶּנָּהhuman beingאָדָםand beast,וּבְהֵמָהand I will make itוּנְתַתִּיהָa ruin;חָרְבָּהfrom Temanמִתֵּימָןandוּto Dedanדְדָנֶהthey will fallיִפֹּלוּby the sword.בַּחֶרֶב
And I will putוְנָתַתִּיmy vengeanceאֶת נִקְמָתִיon Edomבֶּאֱדוֹםby the handבְּיַדof my peopleעַמִּיIsrael,יִשְׂרָאֵלand they will actוְעָשׂוּin Edomבֶאֱדוֹםaccording to my angerכְּאַפִּיand according to my fury;וְכַחֲמָתִיand they will knowוְיָדְעוּmy vengeance,אֶת נִקְמָתִיdeclaresנְאֻםAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH.יְהוִה
ThusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִהBecauseיַעַןthe Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּיםactedעֲשׂוֹתwith vengeanceבִּנְקָמָהand tookוַיִּנָּקְמוּvengeanceנָקָםwith contemptבִּשְׁאָטof soulבְּנֶפֶשׁto destroy,לְמַשְׁחִיתwith eternalעוֹלָםenmity,אֵיבַת
thereforeלָכֵןthusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִהLook, I amהִנְנִיstretching outנוֹטֶהmy handיָדִיagainst the Philistines,עַל פְּלִשְׁתִּיםand I will cut offוְהִכְרַתִּיthe Cherethitesאֶת כְּרֵתִיםand make perishוְהַאֲבַדְתִּיthe remnantאֶת שְׁאֵרִיתof the coastחוֹףof the sea.הַיָּם
And I will executeוְעָשִׂיתִיon themבָםgreatגְּדֹלוֹתvengeancesנְקָמוֹתwith rebukesבְּתוֹכְחוֹתof fury;חֵמָהand they will knowוְיָדְעוּthatכִּיI amאֲנִיYHWH,יְהוָהwhen I layבְּתִתִּיmy vengeanceאֶת נִקְמָתִיon them.’”בָּם
