And you,וְאַתָּהsonבֶןof man,אָדָםtakeקַחfor yourselfלְךָa brickלְבֵנָהand set itוְנָתַתָּה אוֹתָהּbefore you,לְפָנֶיךָand engraveוְחַקּוֹתָon itעָלֶיהָa city,עִירJerusalem.יְרוּשָׁלִָם
And putוְנָתַתָּהa siegeמָצוֹרagainst it,עָלֶיהָand buildוּבָנִיתָa siege wallדָּיֵקagainst it,עָלֶיהָand heap upוְשָׁפַכְתָּa rampסֹלְלָהagainst it,עָלֶיהָand setוְנָתַתָּהcampsמַחֲנוֹתagainst it,עָלֶיהָand placeוְשִׂיםbattering ramsכָּרִיםagainst itעָלֶיהָall around.סָבִיב
And you,וְאַתָּהtakeקַחfor yourselfלְךָan ironבַּרְזֶלgriddleמַחֲבַתand set it asוְנָתַתָּה אוֹתָהּan ironבַּרְזֶלwallקִירbetween youבֵּינְךָand the city,וּבֵין הָעִירand directוַהֲכִינֹתָהyour faceפָּנֶיךָtoward it,אֵלֶיהָand it will beוְהָיְתָהunder siege,בַמָּצוֹרand you will besiegeוְצַרְתָּit;עָלֶיהָit isהִיאa signאוֹתfor the houseלְבֵיתof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵל
And you,וְאַתָּהlieשְׁכַבonעַלyour leftךָ הַשְּׂמָאלִיsideצִדְּand layוְשַׂמְתָּthe iniquityעֲוֺןof the houseבֵּיתof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלon it;עָלָיוfor the numberמִסְפַּרof the daysהַיָּמִיםthatאֲשֶׁרyou lieתִּשְׁכַּבon itעָלָיוyou will bearתִּשָּׂאtheir iniquity.עֲוֺנָם
And Iוַאֲנִיhave givenנָתַתִּיyouלְךָthe yearsשְׁנֵיof their iniquityעֲוֺנָםas a numberלְמִסְפַּרof days,יָמִיםthree hundredשְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹתand ninetyוְתִשְׁעִיםdays;יוֹםand you will bearוְנָשָׂאתָthe iniquityעֲוֺןof the houseבֵּיתof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵל
And when you have completedוְכִלִּיתָthese,אֵלֶּהyou will lieוְשָׁכַבְתָּon your rightעַל ךָ הַיְמָנִיsideצִדְּa second time,שֵׁנִיתand you will bearוְנָשָׂאתָthe iniquityעֲוֺןof the houseבֵּיתof Judahיְהוּדָהfortyאַרְבָּעִיםdays;יוֹםa dayיוֹםfor a year,לַשָּׁנָהa dayיוֹםfor a year,לַשָּׁנָהI have given itנְתַתִּיוto you.לָךְ
And toward the siegeוְאֶל מְצוֹרof Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַםyou will directתָּכִיןyour face,פָּנֶיךָwith your armוּזְרֹעֲךָbared,חֲשׂוּפָהand you will prophesyוְנִבֵּאתָagainst it.עָלֶיהָ
And look,וְהִנֵּהI have putנָתַתִּיropesעֲבוֹתִיםon you,עָלֶיךָand you will notוְלֹאturnתֵהָפֵךְfrom one sideמִצִּדְּךָto the otherאֶל צִדֶּךָuntilעַדyou have completedכַּלּוֹתְךָthe daysיְמֵיof your siege.מְצוּרֶךָ
And you,וְאַתָּהtakeקַחfor yourselfלְךָwheat,חִטִּיןbarley,וּשְׂעֹרִיםbeans,וּפוֹלlentils,וַעֲדָשִׁיםmillet,וְדֹחַןand spelt,וְכֻסְּמִיםand put themוְנָתַתָּה אוֹתָםin oneבִּ אֶחָדvessel,כְלִיand make themוְעָשִׂיתָ אוֹתָםinto breadלְלָחֶםfor yourself;לְךָfor the numberמִסְפַּרof the daysהַיָּמִיםthatאֲשֶׁרyouאַתָּהlieשׁוֹכֵבon your side,עַל צִדְּךָthree hundredשְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹתand ninetyוְתִשְׁעִיםdays,יוֹםyou will eat it.תֹּאכֲלֶנּוּ
And your foodוּמַאֲכָלְךָthatאֲשֶׁרyou eatתֹּאכֲלֶנּוּwill be by weight,בְּמִשְׁקוֹלtwentyעֶשְׂרִיםshekelsשֶׁקֶלa day;לַיּוֹםfrom timeמֵעֵתto timeעַד עֵתyou will eat it.תֹּאכֲלֶנּוּ
And waterוּמַיִםby measureבִּמְשׂוּרָהyou will drink,תִשְׁתֶּהthe sixthשִׁשִּׁיתof a hin;הַהִיןfrom timeמֵעֵתto timeעַד עֵתyou will drink it.תִּשְׁתֶּה
And as a barleyשְׂעֹרִיםcakeוְעֻגַתyou will eat it;תֹּאכֲלֶנָּהand itוְהִיאyou will bakeתְּעֻגֶנָהon dungבְּגֶלְלֵיof human excrementצֵאַת הָאָדָםbefore their eyes.”לְעֵינֵיהֶם
And YHWHיְהוָהsaid,וַיֹּאמֶר“Thusכָּכָהwill the sonsבְנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלeatיֹאכְלוּtheir breadלַחְמָםuncleanטָמֵאamong the nationsבַּגּוֹיִםwhereאֲשֶׁר שָׁםI will drive them.”אַדִּיחֵם
And I said,וָאֹמַר“Ah,אֲהָהּAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH!יְהוִהLook,הִנֵּהmy soulנַפְשִׁיhas notלֹאbeen defiled;מְטֻמָּאָהa carcassוּנְבֵלָהor what was torn by beastsוּטְרֵפָהI have notלֹאeatenאָכַלְתִּיfrom my youthמִנְּעוּרַיuntilוְעַדnow,עַתָּהand noוְלֹאrepulsiveפִּגּוּלmeatבְּשַׂרhas comeבָאinto my mouth.”בְּפִי
And he saidוַיֹּאמֶרto me,אֵלַי“See,רְאֵהI have givenנָתַתִּיyouלְךָthe dungצְפִיעֵיof cattleהַבָּקָרinstead ofתַּחַתthe dungגֶּלְלֵיof humans,הָאָדָםand you will makeוְעָשִׂיתָyour breadלַחְמְךָon it.”עֲלֵיהֶם
And he saidוַיֹּאמֶרto me,אֵלַי“Sonבֶּןof man,אָדָםlook, Iהִנְנִיam breakingשֹׁבֵרthe staffמַטֵּהof breadלֶחֶםin Jerusalem,בִּירוּשָׁלִַםand they will eatוְאָכְלוּbreadלֶחֶםby weightבְּמִשְׁקָלand with anxiety,וּבִדְאָגָהand waterוּמַיִםby measureבִּמְשׂוּרָהand appalledוּבְשִׁמָּמוֹןthey will drink,יִשְׁתּוּ
so thatלְמַעַןthey will lackיַחְסְרוּbreadלֶחֶםand water,וָמָיִםand be appalled,וְנָשַׁמּוּoneאִישׁwith another,וְאָחִיוand waste awayוְנָמַקּוּin their iniquity.”בַּעֲוֺנָם
