Jeremiah: a name meaning "YHWH raises up" or "YHWH exalts," borne by several men: best known is the prophet, son of Hilkiah, from Anathoth (Jeremiah 1:1); in 2 Kings 23:31 and 24:18 another Jeremiah, of Libnah, grandfather of two kings.

YHWH
The personal name of the God of Israel, written in Hebrew with four letters, Y-H-W-H, without vowels. Out of reverence Jews stopped pronouncing it and read "Adonai" (Lord), so many Bibles put "the LORD" or "Jehovah". This translation keeps the four letters. The name is related to the verb "to be" (Exodus 3:14-15). He is not a god other than Elohim: "YHWH Elohim" is the same Creator God, called by his name.

Egypt
Today: Egypt (Nile Valley)
A country in northeast Africa along the Nile River, southwest of Israel.
Joseph was sold into it, and his family went down to live there (Gen 37:28; 46:6). God brought Israel out of it with a mighty hand (Exod 12:41). The child Jesus fled there with his parents (Matt 2:14).
The context
23Because you burned incense and because you sinned against YHWH and did not listen to the voice of YHWH, and in his instruction and in his statutes and in his testimonies you did not walk, therefore this evil has befallen you, as it is this day.”
24 · This verse (above)
25Thus says YHWH Tsevaot, the Elohim of Israel, saying: You and your wives have spoken with your mouth, and with your hands have fulfilled it, saying, ‘We will certainly perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of the heavens and to pour out libations to her.’ By all means confirm your vows, and by all means perform your vows!
