And Penuelוּפְנוּאֵלthe fatherאֲבִיof Gedor,גְדֹרand Ezerוְעֵזֶרthe fatherאֲבִיof Hushah.חוּשָׁהTheseאֵלֶּהarethe sonsבְנֵיof Hur,חוּרthe firstbornבְּכוֹרof Ephrathah,אֶפְרָתָהthe fatherאֲבִיof Bethlehem.בֵּית לָחֶם
And Ashhurוּ אַשְׁחוּרthe fatherאֲבִיof Tekoaתְקוֹעַhadלְ הָיוּtwoשְׁתֵּיwives,נָשִׁיםHelahחֶלְאָהand Naarah.וְנַעֲרָה
And NaarahנַעֲרָהboreוַתֵּלֶדhimלוֹAhuzzam,אֶת אֲחֻזָּםHepher,וְאֶת חֵפֶרTemeni,וְאֶת תֵּימְנִיand the Ahashtarite.וְאֶת הָאֲחַשְׁתָּרִיTheseאֵלֶּהarethe sonsבְּנֵיof Naarah.נַעֲרָה
And the sonsוּבְנֵיof Helah:חֶלְאָהZereth,צֶרֶתZohar,וְצֹחַרand Ethnan.וְאֶתְנָן
And Kozוְקוֹץfatheredהוֹלִיד אֶתAnubעָנוּבand Zobebah,וְאֶת הַצֹּבֵבָהand the familiesוּמִשְׁפְּחוֹתof Aharhelאֲחַרְחֵלthe sonבֶּןof Harum.הָרוּם
And Jabezיַעְבֵּץwasוַיְהִיmore honoredנִכְבָּדthan his brothers;מֵאֶחָיוand his motherוְאִמּוֹcalledקָרְאָהhis nameשְׁמוֹJabez,יַעְבֵּץsaying,לֵאמֹר“BecauseכִּיI bore himיָלַדְתִּיin pain.”בְּעֹצֶב
And Jabezוַ יַעְבֵּץcalledיִּקְרָאon the Elohimלֵאלֹהֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלsaying,לֵאמֹר“Ifאִםyou would indeed bless me,בָּרֵךְ תְּבָרֲכֵנִיand enlargeוְהִרְבִּיתָ אֶתmy territory,גְּבוּלִיand your handוְ יָדְךָwould beהָיְתָהwith me,עִמִּיand you would actוְעָשִׂיתָkeeping mefrom evil,מֵּרָעָהso thatלְבִלְתִּיit may not pain me…!”עָצְבִּיAnd Elohimוַ אֱלֹהִיםbroughtיָּבֵאwhatאֵת אֲשֶׁרhe asked.שָׁאָל

And the sonsוּבְנֵיof Kenaz:קְנַזOthnielעָתְנִיאֵלand Seraiah.וּשְׂרָיָהAnd the sonsוּבְנֵיof Othniel:עָתְנִיאֵלHathath.חֲתַת
And Meonothaiוּמְעוֹנֹתַיfatheredהוֹלִיד אֶתOphrah;עָפְרָהand Seraiahוּשְׂרָיָהfatheredהוֹלִיד אֶתJoab,יוֹאָבthe fatherאֲבִיof the Valleyגֵּיאof Craftsmen,חֲרָשִׁיםforכִּיthey wereהָיוּcraftsmen.חֲרָשִׁים
And the sonsוּבְנֵיof Calebכָּלֵבthe sonבֶּןof Jephunneh:יְפֻנֶּהIru,עִירוּElah,אֵלָהand Naam.וָנָעַםAnd the sonsוּבְנֵיof Elah:אֵלָהKenaz.וּקְנַז
And the sonsוּבְנֵיof Jehallelel:יְהַלֶּלְאֵלZiph,זִיףZiphah,וְזִיפָהTiria,תִּירְיָאand Asarel.וַאֲשַׂרְאֵל
And the sonוּבֶןof Ezrah:עֶזְרָהJether,יֶתֶרMered,וּמֶרֶדEpher,וְעֵפֶרand Jalon.וְיָלוֹןAnd she conceivedוַתַּהַרMiriam,אֶת מִרְיָםShammai,וְאֶת שַׁמַּיand Ishbah,וְאֶת יִשְׁבָּחthe fatherאֲבִיof Eshtemoa.אֶשְׁתְּמֹעַ

Shallum,שַׁלֻּםhis son;בְּנוֹMibsam,מִבְשָׂםhis son;בְּנוֹMishma,מִשְׁמָעhis son.בְּנוֹ

And Shimeiוּ שִׁמְעִיhadלְsixteenשִׁשָּׁה עָשָׂרsonsבָּנִיםand sixוּ שֵׁשׁdaughters;בָנוֹתbut his brothersוּ אֶחָיוdid not haveלְ אֵיןmanyרַבִּיםsons,בָּנִיםand allוְכֹלtheir familyמִשְׁפַּחְתָּםdid notלֹאmultiplyהִרְבּוּas much asעַדthe sonsבְּנֵיof Judah.יְהוּדָה
And they livedוַיֵּשְׁבוּin Beersheba,בִּבְאֵר שֶׁבַעMoladah,וּמוֹלָדָהHazar-shual,וַחֲצַר שׁוּעָל
in Bilhah,וּבְבִלְהָהin Ezem,וּבְעֶצֶםin Tolad,וּבְתוֹלָד
in Bethuel,וּבִבְתוּאֵלin Hormah,וּבְחָרְמָהin Ziklag,וּבְצִיקְלָג
in Beth-marcaboth,וּבְבֵית מַרְכָּבוֹתin Hazar-susim,וּבַחֲצַר סוּסִיםin Beth-biri,וּבְבֵית בִּרְאִיand in Shaaraim.וּבְשַׁעֲרָיִםTheseאֵלֶּהweretheir citiesעָרֵיהֶםuntilעַדDavidדָּוִידreigned.מְלֹךְ
And their villagesוְחַצְרֵיהֶםwereEtam,עֵיטָםAin,וָעַיִןRimmon,רִמּוֹןTochen,וְתֹכֶןand Ashan,וְעָשָׁןfiveחָמֵשׁcities,עָרִים
and allוְכָלtheir villagesחַצְרֵיהֶםthatאֲשֶׁרwerearoundסְבִיבוֹתtheseהָאֵלֶּהcitiesהֶעָרִיםas far asעַדBaal.בָּעַלTheseזֹאתweretheir dwelling places,מוֹשְׁבֹתָםand they had their genealogical record.וְהִתְיַחְשָׂם לָהֶם
And Meshobab,וּמְשׁוֹבָבJamlech,וְיַמְלֵךְand Joshahוְיוֹשָׁהthe sonבֶּןof Amaziah,אֲמַצְיָה
and Joel,וְיוֹאֵלand Jehuוְיֵהוּאthe sonבֶּןof Joshibiah,יוֹשִׁבְיָהthe sonבֶּןof Seraiah,שְׂרָיָהthe sonבֶּןof Asiel,עֲשִׂיאֵל

And they foundוַיִּמְצְאוּrichשָׁמֵןand goodוָטוֹבpasture,מִרְעֶהand the landוְהָאָרֶץwasbroad,רַחֲבַת יָדַיִםquiet,וְשֹׁקֶטֶתand peaceful,וּשְׁלֵוָהforכִּיthose who livedהַיֹּשְׁבִיםthereשָׁםbeforeלְפָנִיםwerefrom Ham.מִן חָם

And some of them,וּמֵהֶםofמִןthe sonsבְּנֵיof Simeon,שִׁמְעוֹןfive hundredחֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹתmen,אֲנָשִׁיםwentהָלְכוּto MountלְהַרSeir;שֵׂעִירand Pelatiah,וּפְלַטְיָהNeariah,וּנְעַרְיָהRephaiah,וּרְפָיָהand Uzziel,וְעֻזִּיאֵלthe sonsבְּנֵיof Ishi,יִשְׁעִיwereat their head.בְּרֹאשָׁם
And they struckוַיַּכּוּthe remnantאֶת שְׁאֵרִיתof those who had escapedהַפְּלֵטָהof Amalek,לַעֲמָלֵקand they have livedוַיֵּשְׁבוּthereשָׁםtoעַדthisהַזֶּהday.הַיּוֹם
