Forכִּיmanyרַבִּיםfellנָפָלוּslain,חֲלָלִיםbecauseכִּיthe warהַמִּלְחָמָהwasfrom Elohim.מֵהָאֱלֹהִיםAnd they livedוַיֵּשְׁבוּin their placeתַחְתֵּיהֶםuntilעַדthe exile.הַגֹּלָה
And the sonsוּבְנֵיof the half-tribeחֲצִי שֵׁבֶטof Manassehמְנַשֶּׁהlivedיָשְׁבוּin the land,בָּאָרֶץfrom BashanמִבָּשָׁןtoעַדBaal-hermon,בַּעַל חֶרְמוֹןSenir,וּשְׂנִירand MountוְהַרHermon;חֶרְמוֹןtheyהֵמָּהmultiplied.רָבוּ
And theseוְאֵלֶּהwerethe headsרָאשֵׁיof their fathers’ houses:בֵית אֲבוֹתָםEpher,וְעֵפֶרIshi,וְיִשְׁעִיEliel,וֶאֱלִיאֵלAzriel,וְעַזְרִיאֵלJeremiah,וְיִרְמְיָהHodaviah,וְהוֹדַוְיָהand Jahdiel,וְיַחְדִּיאֵלmen,אֲנָשִׁיםmighty menגִּבּוֹרֵיof valor,חַיִלmenאַנְשֵׁיof renown,שֵׁמוֹתheadsרָאשִׁיםof their fathers’ houses.לְבֵית אֲבוֹתָם
But they committed unfaithfulnessוַיִּמְעֲלוּagainst the Elohimבֵּאלֹהֵיof their fathers,אֲבוֹתֵיהֶםand prostituted themselvesוַיִּזְנוּafterאַחֲרֵיthe godsאֱלֹהֵיof the peoplesעַמֵּיof the land,הָאָרֶץwhomאֲשֶׁרElohimאֱלֹהִיםhad destroyedהִשְׁמִידbefore them.מִפְּנֵיהֶם
And the Elohimוַ אֱלֹהֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלstirred upיָּעַרthe spiritאֶת רוּחַof Pulפּוּלkingמֶלֶךְof Assyria,אַשּׁוּרand the spiritוְאֶת רוּחַof Tilgath-pilneserתִּלְּגַת פִּלְנֶסֶרkingמֶלֶךְof Assyria,אַשּׁוּרand he carried them into exile,וַיַּגְלֵםthe Reubenites,לָראוּבֵנִיthe Gadites,וְלַגָּדִיand the half-tribeוְלַחֲצִי שֵׁבֶטof Manasseh,מְנַשֶּׁהand brought themוַיְבִיאֵםto Halah,לַחְלַחHabor,וְחָבוֹרHara,וְהָרָאand the riverוּנְהַרof Gozan,גּוֹזָןtoעַדthisהַזֶּהday.הַיּוֹם
