butἀλλὰjust asκαθὼςwe have been approvedδεδοκιμάσμεθαbyὑπὸGodτοῦ θεοῦto be entrusted withπιστευθῆναιthe good news,τὸ εὐαγγέλιονsoοὕτωςwe speak,λαλοῦμενnotοὐχasὡςpleasingἀρέσκοντεςpeopleἀνθρώποιςbutἀλλὰGod,θεῷwho testsτῷ δοκιμάζοντιour hearts.τὰς καρδίας ἡμῶν

norοὔτεseekingζητοῦντεςgloryδόξανfromἐξpeople,ἀνθρώπωνneitherοὔτεfromἀφ’youὑμῶνnorοὔτεfromἀπ’others,ἄλλων
though ableδυνάμενοιto impose our authorityἐν βάρει εἶναιasὡςapostlesἀπόστολοιof the Messiah.ΧριστοῦInstead,ἀλλὰwe wereἐγενήθημενgentleἤπιοιamongἐν μέσῳyou,ὑμῶνlikeὡς ἐὰνa nursing motherτροφὸςcaring forθάλπῃher ownτὰ ἑαυτῆςchildren.τέκνα
So,οὕτωςyearning forὁμειρόμενοιyou,ὑμῶνwe were pleasedεὐδοκοῦμενto shareμεταδοῦναιwith youὑμῖνnotοὐonlyμόνονthe good newsτὸ εὐαγγέλιονof Godτοῦ θεοῦbutἀλλὰalsoκαὶour ownτὰς ἑαυτῶνlives,ψυχάςbecauseδιότιyou had becomeἐγενήθητεbelovedἀγαπητοὶto us.ἡμῖν

just asκαθάπερyou knowοἴδατεhowὡςeachἕναoneἕκαστονof you,ὑμῶνlikeὡςa fatherπατὴρhis ownἑαυτοῦchildren,τέκνα
we were exhortingπαρακαλοῦντεςyouὑμᾶςandκαὶcomfortingπαραμυθούμενοιandκαὶtestifying,μαρτυρόμενοιso thatεἰς τὸyouὑμᾶςwould walkπεριπατεῖνin a manner worthyἀξίωςof God,τοῦ θεοῦwho callsτοῦ καλοῦντοςyouὑμᾶςintoεἰςhis ownτὴν ἑαυτοῦkingdomβασιλείανandκαὶglory.δόξαν
AndΚαὶfor this reasonδιὰ τοῦτοweἡμεῖςalsoκαὶthankεὐχαριστοῦμενGodτῷ θεῷunceasingly,ἀδιαλείπτωςthatὅτιwhen you receivedπαραλαβόντεςthe wordλόγονyou heardἀκοῆςfromπαρ’us,ἡμῶνthe word of God,τοῦ θεοῦyou accepted itἐδέξασθεnotοὐas the wordλόγονof human beingsἀνθρώπωνbutἀλλὰasκαθὼςit trulyἀληθῶςis,ἐστὶνthe wordλόγονof God,θεοῦwhichὃςalsoκαὶis at workἐνεργεῖταιinἐνyouὑμῖνwho believe.τοῖς πιστεύουσιν

whoτῶνkilledἀποκτεινάντωνbothκαὶthe Lordτὸν κύριονJesusἸησοῦνandκαὶthe prophets,τοὺς προφήταςandκαὶdrove us out,ἡμᾶς ἐκδιωξάντωνandκαὶwho do notμὴpleaseἀρεσκόντωνGodθεῷandκαὶare hostileἐναντίωνto allπᾶσινpeople,ἀνθρώποις
hinderingκωλυόντωνusἡμᾶςfrom speakingλαλῆσαιto the nationsτοῖς ἔθνεσινso thatἵναthey may be saved,σωθῶσινso asεἰς τὸalwaysπάντοτεto fill upἀναπληρῶσαιthe measure of theirαὐτῶνsins.τὰς ἁμαρτίαςButδὲthe wrathἡ ὀργὴhas comeἔφθασενuponἐπ’themαὐτοὺςto the end.εἰς τέλος

becauseδιότιwe wantedἠθελήσαμενto comeἐλθεῖνtoπρὸςyouὑμᾶς—I,ἐγὼPaul,Παῦλοςbothκαὶonceἅπαξandκαὶtwice—δίςbutκαὶSatanὁ Σατανᾶςhinderedἐνέκοψενus.ἡμᾶς
