Forγὰρwe knowΟἴδαμενthatὅτιifἐὰνourἡμῶνearthlyἡ ἐπίγειοςhouseοἰκίαof the tentτοῦ σκήνουςis torn down,καταλυθῇwe haveἔχομενa buildingοἰκοδομὴνfromἐκGod,θεοῦa houseοἰκίανnot made with hands,ἀχειροποίητονeternal,αἰώνιονinἐνthe heavens.τοῖς οὐρανοῖς
For indeedκαὶ γὰρinἐνthis tentτούτῳwe groan,στενάζομενlongingἐπιποθοῦντεςto put onἐπενδύσασθαιour dwellingτὸ οἰκητήριον ἡμῶνthat isτὸfromἐξheaven,οὐρανοῦ
if indeed,εἴ γεhaving put it on,ἐνδυσάμενοιwe will notοὐbe foundεὑρεθησόμεθαnaked.γυμνοὶ
For indeedκαὶ γὰρwe who areοἱ ὄντεςinἐνthe tentτῷ σκήνειgroan,στενάζομενbeing burdened,βαρούμενοιbecauseἐφ’ ᾧwe do notοὐwantθέλομενto be unclothedἐκδύσασθαιbutἀλλ’to put on the other over it,ἐπενδύσασθαιso thatἵναwhat is mortalτὸ θνητὸνmay be swallowed upκαταποθῇbyὑπὸlife.τῆς ζωῆς
Andδὲthe one who has preparedὁ κατεργασάμενοςusἡμᾶςforεἰςthis very thingαὐτὸ τοῦτοisGod,θεόςwho gaveὁ δοὺςusἡμῖνthe down paymentτὸν ἀρραβῶναof the Spirit.τοῦ πνεύματος
So,οὖνalwaysπάντοτεbeing of good courageΘαρροῦντεςandκαὶknowingεἰδότεςthatὅτιwhile we are at homeἐνδημοῦντεςinἐνthe bodyτῷ σώματιwe are awayἐκδημοῦμενfromἀπὸthe Lordτοῦ κυρίου
—forγὰρwe walkπεριπατοῦμενbyδιὰfaith,πίστεωςnotοὐbyδιὰsight—εἴδους
andδὲwe are of good courage,θαρροῦμενandκαὶwe would ratherεὐδοκοῦμεν μᾶλλονbe awayἐκδημῆσαιfromἐκthe bodyτοῦ σώματοςandκαὶat homeἐνδημῆσαιwithπρὸςthe Lord.τὸν κύριον
Thereforeδιὸwe alsoκαὶmake it our aim,φιλοτιμούμεθαwhetherεἴτεat homeἐνδημοῦντεςorεἴτεaway,ἐκδημοῦντεςto beεἶναιpleasingεὐάρεστοιto him.αὐτῷ
Forγὰρweἡμᾶςallτοὺς πάνταςmustδεῖbe made manifestφανερωθῆναιbeforeἔμπροσθενthe judgment seatτοῦ βήματοςof the Messiah,τοῦ Χριστοῦso thatἵναeach oneἕκαστοςmay receiveκομίσηταιthe things doneτὰthroughδιὰthe body,τοῦ σώματοςaccording toπρὸςwhatἃhe did,ἔπραξενwhetherεἴτεgoodἀγαθὸνorεἴτεbad.φαῦλον
Therefore,οὖνknowingΕἰδότεςthe fearτὸν φόβονof the Lord,τοῦ κυρίουwe persuadeπείθομενpeople,ἀνθρώπουςbutδὲto Godθεῷwe have been made manifest;πεφανερώμεθαandδὲI hopeἐλπίζωthat we have been made manifestπεφανερῶσθαιalsoκαὶinἐνyour consciences.ταῖς συνειδήσεσιν ὑμῶν
We are notοὐcommendingσυνιστάνομενourselvesἑαυτοὺςto youὑμῖνagain,πάλινbutἀλλὰgivingδιδόντεςyouὑμῖνan occasionἀφορμὴνof boastingκαυχήματοςaboutὑπὲρus,ἡμῶνso thatἵναyou may have an answerἔχητεforπρὸςthoseτοὺςwho boastκαυχωμένουςinἐνappearanceπροσώπῳandκαὶnotμὴinἐνheart.καρδίᾳ
Forγὰρifεἴτεwe were out of our mind,ἐξέστημενit wasfor God;θεῷifεἴτεwe are in our right mind,σωφρονοῦμενit isfor you.ὑμῖν
Forγὰρthe loveἡ ἀγάπηof the Messiahτοῦ Χριστοῦcompelsσυνέχειus,ἡμᾶςbecause we have judgedκρίνανταςthis:τοῦτοthatὅτιoneεἷςdiedἀπέθανενforὑπὲρall;πάντωνthereforeἄραallοἱ πάντεςdied;ἀπέθανον
andκαὶhe diedἀπέθανενforὑπὲρall,πάντωνso thatἵναthose who liveοἱ ζῶντεςshould no longerμηκέτιliveζῶσινfor themselvesἑαυτοῖςbutἀλλὰfor the one whoτῷdiedἀποθανόντιforὑπὲρthemαὐτῶνandκαὶwas raised.ἐγερθέντι
SoὭστεweἡμεῖςfromἀπὸnow onτοῦ νῦνknowοἴδαμενno oneοὐδέναaccording toκατὰthe flesh;σάρκαevenκαὶifεἰwe have knownἐγνώκαμενthe MessiahΧριστόνaccording toκατὰthe flesh,σάρκαyetἀλλὰnowνῦνwe no longerοὐκέτιknow him in that way.γινώσκομεν
Soὥστεifεἴanyoneτιςisinἐνthe Messiah,Χριστῷthere isa newκαινὴcreation;κτίσιςthe old thingsτὰ ἀρχαῖαhave passed away;παρῆλθενlook,ἰδοὺnew thingsκαινάhave come.γέγονεν
Andδὲall thingsτὰ πάνταarefromἐκGod,τοῦ θεοῦwho reconciledτοῦ καταλλάξαντοςusἡμᾶςto himselfἑαυτῷthroughδιὰthe MessiahΧριστοῦandκαὶgaveδόντοςusἡμῖνthe serviceτὴν διακονίανof reconciliation,τῆς καταλλαγῆς
namely,ὡςthatὅτιGodθεὸςwasἦνinἐνthe MessiahΧριστῷreconcilingκαταλλάσσωνthe worldκόσμονto himself,ἑαυτῷnotμὴcountingλογιζόμενοςtheir trespassesτὰ παραπτώματα αὐτῶνagainst them,αὐτοῖςandκαὶentrustingθέμενοςtoἐνusἡμῖνthe wordτὸν λόγονof reconciliation.τῆς καταλλαγῆς
Soοὖνon behalf ofὑπὲρthe MessiahΧριστοῦwe are ambassadors,πρεσβεύομενas thoughὡςGodτοῦ θεοῦwere appealingπαρακαλοῦντοςthroughδι’us;ἡμῶνwe beg youδεόμεθαon behalf ofὑπὲρthe Messiah,Χριστοῦbe reconciledκαταλλάγητεto God.τῷ θεῷ
He madeἐποίησενthe one whoτὸνdid notμὴknowγνόνταsinἁμαρτίανto besinἁμαρτίανforὑπὲρus,ἡμῶνso thatἵναweἡμεῖςmight becomeγενώμεθαthe righteousnessδικαιοσύνηof Godθεοῦinἐνhim.αὐτῷ
