The priests,לַכֹּהֲנִיםthe Levites,הַלְוִיִּםallכָּלthe tribeשֵׁבֶטof Levi,לֵוִיshall have noלֹא יִהְיֶהportionחֵלֶקor inheritanceוְנַחֲלָהwithעִםIsrael;יִשְׂרָאֵלthe fire offeringsאִשֵּׁיof YHWHיְהוָהand his inheritanceוְנַחֲלָתוֹthey shall eat.יֹאכֵלוּן
And they shall have noוְ לֹא יִהְיֶה לּוֹinheritanceנַחֲלָהamongבְּקֶרֶבtheir brothers;אֶחָיוYHWHיְהוָהisהוּאtheir inheritance,נַחֲלָתוֹasכַּאֲשֶׁרhe has spokenדִּבֶּרto them.לוֹ
And thisוְזֶהshall beיִהְיֶהthe dueמִשְׁפַּטof the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִיםfromמֵאֵתthe people,הָעָםfromמֵאֵתthose who sacrificeזֹבְחֵיthe sacrifice,הַזֶּבַחwhetherאִםan oxשׁוֹרorאִםa lamb:שֶׂהhe shall giveוְנָתַןto the priestלַכֹּהֵןthe shoulder,הַזְּרֹעַthe two cheeks,וְהַלְּחָיַיִםand the stomach.וְהַקֵּבָה
The firstfruitsרֵאשִׁיתof your grain,דְּגָנְךָof your new wine,תִּירֹשְׁךָand of your oil,וְיִצְהָרֶךָand the firstfruitsוְרֵאשִׁיתof the shearingגֵּזof your flock,צֹאנְךָyou shall giveתִּתֶּןto him.לּוֹ
ForכִּיYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָhas chosenבָּחַרhimבוֹout of allמִכָּלyour tribesשְׁבָטֶיךָto standלַעֲמֹדto ministerלְשָׁרֵתin the nameבְּשֵׁםof YHWH,יְהוָהhimהוּאand his sons,וּבָנָיוallכָּלthe days.הַיָּמִים
And ifוְכִיthe Leviteהַלֵּוִיcomesיָבֹאfrom oneמֵאַחַדof your gates,שְׁעָרֶיךָfrom allמִכָּלIsrael,יִשְׂרָאֵלwhereאֲשֶׁר שָׁםheהוּאresides as an alien,גָּרand comesוּבָאwith allבְּכָלthe desireאַוַּתof his soulנַפְשׁוֹtoאֶלthe placeהַמָּקוֹםthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהchooses,יִבְחַר
and ministersוְשֵׁרֵתin the nameבְּשֵׁםof YHWHיְהוָהhis Elohim,אֱלֹהָיוlike allכְּכָלhis brothers,אֶחָיוthe Levites,הַלְוִיִּםwho standהָעֹמְדִיםthereשָׁםbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWH,יְהוָה
they shall eatיֹאכֵלוּequal portions,חֵלֶק כְּחֵלֶקbesidesלְבַדwhat he sellsמִמְכָּרָיוof the fathers.עַל הָאָבוֹת
Whenכִּיyouאַתָּהcomeבָּאintoאֶלthe landהָאָרֶץthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָis givingנֹתֵןyou,לָךְyou shall notלֹאlearnתִלְמַדto doלַעֲשׂוֹתaccording to the abominationsכְּתוֹעֲבֹתof thoseהָהֵםnations.הַגּוֹיִם
There shall notלֹאbe foundיִמָּצֵאamong youבְךָanyone who makes passמַעֲבִירhis sonבְּנוֹor his daughterוּבִתּוֹthrough the fire,בָּאֵשׁanyone who practicesקֹסֵםdivination,קְסָמִיםa soothsayer,מְעוֹנֵןor one who interprets omens,וּמְנַחֵשׁor a sorcerer,וּמְכַשֵּׁף
or a charmerוְחֹבֵרcasting spells,חָבֶרor one who consultsוְשֹׁאֵלthose who call up the dead,אוֹבor a spiritist,וְיִדְּעֹנִיor one who seeksוְדֹרֵשׁthe dead.אֶל הַמֵּתִים
Forכִּיan abominationתוֹעֲבַתto YHWHיְהוָהis everyoneכָּלwho doesעֹשֵׂהthese things,אֵלֶּהand becauseוּבִגְלַלof theseהָאֵלֶּהabominationsהַתּוֹעֵבֹתYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָis dispossessingמוֹרִישׁthemאוֹתָםbefore you.מִפָּנֶיךָ
You shall beתִּהְיֶהblamelessתָּמִיםwithעִםYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohim.אֱלֹהֶיךָ
Forכִּיtheseהָאֵלֶּהnationsהַגּוֹיִםthatאֲשֶׁרyouאַתָּהare dispossessingיוֹרֵשׁlistenיִשְׁמָעוּto soothsayersאֶל מְעֹנְנִיםand to diviners;וְאֶל קֹסְמִיםbut as for you,וְאַתָּהYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָhas notלֹאallowedנָתַןyouלְךָto do so.כֵן
A prophetנָבִיאfrom among you,מִקִּרְבְּךָfrom your brothers,מֵאַחֶיךָlike me,כָּמֹנִיYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָwill raise upיָקִיםfor you;לְךָto himאֵלָיוyou shall listen,תִּשְׁמָעוּן
according to allכְּכֹלthatאֲשֶׁרyou askedשָׁאַלְתָּofמֵעִםYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָat Horebבְּחֹרֵבon the dayבְּיוֹםof the assembly,הַקָּהָלsaying,לֵאמֹר“Let me notלֹאhearלִשְׁמֹעַagainאֹסֵףthe voiceאֶת קוֹלof YHWHיְהוָהmy Elohim,אֱלֹהָיand thisוְ הַזֹּאתgreatהַגְּדֹלָהfireאֶת הָאֵשׁlet me notלֹאseeאֶרְאֶהanymore,עוֹדso that I do notוְלֹאdie.”אָמוּת
And YHWHוַ יְהוָהsaidיֹּאמֶרto me,אֵלָי“They have spoken wellהֵיטִיבוּin whatאֲשֶׁרthey have spoken.דִּבֵּרוּ
A prophetנָבִיאI will raise upאָקִיםfor themלָהֶםfrom amongמִקֶּרֶבtheir brothers,אֲחֵיהֶםlike you,כָּמוֹךָand I will putוְנָתַתִּיmy wordsדְבָרַיin his mouth,בְּפִיוand he shall speakוְדִבֶּרto themאֲלֵיהֶםallאֵת כָּלthatאֲשֶׁרI command him.אֲצַוֶּנּוּ
Andוְהָיָהthe manהָאִישׁwhoאֲשֶׁרdoes notלֹאlistenיִשְׁמַעto my wordsאֶל דְּבָרַיthatאֲשֶׁרhe speaksיְדַבֵּרin my name,בִּשְׁמִיIאָנֹכִיwill require itאֶדְרֹשׁof him.מֵעִמּוֹ
Butאַךְthe prophetהַנָּבִיאwhoאֲשֶׁרacts with arroganceיָזִידby speakingלְדַבֵּרa wordדָּבָרin my nameבִּשְׁמִיthatאֵת אֲשֶׁרI have notלֹאcommanded himצִוִּיתִיוto speak,לְדַבֵּרor whoוַאֲשֶׁרspeaksיְדַבֵּרin the nameבְּשֵׁםof otherאֲחֵרִיםgods,אֱלֹהִיםthatהַהוּאprophetהַנָּבִיאshall die.”וּמֵת
And ifוְכִיyou sayתֹאמַרin your heart,בִּלְבָבֶךָ“Howאֵיכָהshall we knowנֵדַעthe wordאֶת הַדָּבָרthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhas notלֹאspoken?”דִבְּרוֹ
Whenאֲשֶׁרthe prophetהַנָּבִיאspeaksיְדַבֵּרin the nameבְּשֵׁםof YHWHיְהוָהand the wordוְ הַדָּבָרdoes notלֹאcome aboutיִהְיֶהorוְcome true,לֹא יָבוֹאthatהוּאis the wordהַדָּבָרthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהhas notלֹאspoken;דִבְּרוֹwith arroganceבְּזָדוֹןthe prophetהַנָּבִיאhas spoken it;דִּבְּרוֹyou shall notלֹאbe afraidתָגוּרof him.מִמֶּנּוּ
