And you,וְאַתָּהbring nearהַקְרֵבto youאֵלֶיךָAaronאֶת אַהֲרֹןyour brother,אָחִיךָand his sonsוְאֶת בָּנָיוwith him,אִתּוֹfrom amongמִתּוֹךְthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלto serve as priestלְכַהֲנוֹfor me:לִיAaron,אַהֲרֹןNadabנָדָבand Abihu,וַאֲבִיהוּאEleazarאֶלְעָזָרand Ithamar,וְאִיתָמָרthe sonsבְּנֵיof Aaron.אַהֲרֹן
You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָholyקֹדֶשׁgarmentsבִגְדֵיfor Aaronלְאַהֲרֹןyour brother,אָחִיךָfor honorלְכָבוֹדand for beauty.וּלְתִפְאָרֶת
And youוְאַתָּהshall speakתְּדַבֵּרtoאֶלallכָּלthe wiseחַכְמֵיof heart,לֵבwhomאֲשֶׁרI have filledמִלֵּאתִיוwith a spiritרוּחַof wisdom,חָכְמָהthat they makeוְעָשׂוּthe garmentsאֶת בִּגְדֵיof Aaronאַהֲרֹןto consecrate himלְקַדְּשׁוֹto serve as priestלְכַהֲנוֹfor me.לִי
Theseוְאֵלֶּהare the garmentsהַבְּגָדִיםthatאֲשֶׁרthey shall make:יַעֲשׂוּa breastpiece,חֹשֶׁןan ephod,וְאֵפוֹדa robe,וּמְעִילa checkeredתַּשְׁבֵּץtunic,וּכְתֹנֶתa turban,מִצְנֶפֶתand a sash.וְאַבְנֵטThey shall makeוְעָשׂוּholyקֹדֶשׁgarmentsבִגְדֵיfor Aaronלְאַהֲרֹןyour brotherאָחִיךָand for his sonsוּלְבָנָיוto serve as priestsלְכַהֲנוֹfor me.לִי
Theyוְהֵםshall takeיִקְחוּthe gold,אֶת הַזָּהָבthe blue,וְאֶת הַתְּכֵלֶתthe purple,וְאֶת הָאַרְגָּמָןthe scarlet yarn,וְאֶת תּוֹלַעַת הַשָּׁנִיand the fine linen.וְאֶת הַשֵּׁשׁ
They shall makeוְעָשׂוּthe ephodאֶת הָאֵפֹדof gold,זָהָבblue,תְּכֵלֶתpurple,וְאַרְגָּמָןscarlet yarn,תּוֹלַעַת שָׁנִיand fine twisted linen,וְשֵׁשׁ מָשְׁזָרthe workמַעֲשֵׂהof a skilled craftsman.חֹשֵׁב
It shall haveיִהְיֶה לּוֹtwoשְׁתֵּיshoulder piecesכְתֵפֹתjoinedחֹבְרֹתtoאֶלits twoשְׁנֵיends,קְצוֹתָיוso that it is joined together.וְחֻבָּר
And the woven bandוְחֵשֶׁבof its ephod,אֲפֻדָּתוֹwhichאֲשֶׁרis on it,עָלָיוshall beיִהְיֶהof the same workmanship,כְּמַעֲשֵׂהוּof one piece with it:מִמֶּנּוּof gold,זָהָבblue,תְּכֵלֶתpurple,וְאַרְגָּמָןscarlet yarn,וְתוֹלַעַת שָׁנִיand fine twisted linen.וְשֵׁשׁ מָשְׁזָר
You shall takeוְלָקַחְתָּtwoאֶת שְׁתֵּיonyxשֹׁהַםstonesאַבְנֵיand engraveוּפִתַּחְתָּon themעֲלֵיהֶםthe namesשְׁמוֹתof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵל
sixשִׁשָּׁהof their namesמִשְּׁמֹתָםonעַלthe oneהָאֶחָתstone,הָאֶבֶןand the namesוְאֶת שְׁמוֹתof the remainingהַנּוֹתָרִיםsixהַשִּׁשָּׁהonעַלthe secondהַשֵּׁנִיתstone,הָאֶבֶןin the order of their birth.כְּתוֹלְדֹתָם
As the workמַעֲשֵׂהof a stonecutter,חָרַשׁ אֶבֶןwith engravingsפִּתּוּחֵיof a signet,חֹתָםyou shall engraveתְּפַתַּחthe twoאֶת שְׁתֵּיstonesהָאֲבָנִיםwithעַלthe namesשְׁמֹתof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israel;יִשְׂרָאֵלmountedמֻסַבֹּתin settingsמִשְׁבְּצוֹתof goldזָהָבyou shall makeתַּעֲשֶׂהthem.אֹתָם
You shall putוְשַׂמְתָּthe twoאֶת שְׁתֵּיstonesהָאֲבָנִיםonעַלthe shoulder piecesכִּתְפֹתof the ephod,הָאֵפֹדas stonesאַבְנֵיof memorialזִכָּרֹןfor the sonsלִבְנֵיof Israel;יִשְׂרָאֵלand Aaronוְ אַהֲרֹןshall bearנָשָׂאtheir namesאֶת שְׁמוֹתָםbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהonעַלhis twoשְׁתֵּיshouldersכְתֵפָיוas a memorial.לְזִכָּרֹן
You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָsettingsמִשְׁבְּצֹתof gold,זָהָב
and twoוּשְׁתֵּיchainsשַׁרְשְׁרֹתof pureטָהוֹרgold;זָהָבtwistedמִגְבָּלֹתyou shall makeתַּעֲשֶׂהthem,אֹתָםof cordedעֲבֹתwork,מַעֲשֵׂהand you shall fastenוְנָתַתָּהthe cordedהָעֲבֹתֹתchainsאֶת שַׁרְשְׁרֹתtoעַלthe settings.הַמִּשְׁבְּצֹת
You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָa breastpieceחֹשֶׁןof judgment,מִשְׁפָּטthe workמַעֲשֵׂהof a skilled craftsman;חֹשֵׁבlike the workכְּמַעֲשֵׂהof the ephodאֵפֹדyou shall make it:תַּעֲשֶׂנּוּof gold,זָהָבblue,תְּכֵלֶתpurple,וְאַרְגָּמָןscarlet yarn,וְתוֹלַעַת שָׁנִיand fine twisted linenוְשֵׁשׁ מָשְׁזָרyou shall makeתַּעֲשֶׂהit.אֹתוֹ
It shall beיִהְיֶהsquareרָבוּעַand doubled,כָּפוּלa spanזֶרֶתits lengthאָרְכּוֹand a spanוְזֶרֶתits width.רָחְבּוֹ
You shall fillוּמִלֵּאתָitבוֹwith a settingמִלֻּאַתof stones,אֶבֶןfourאַרְבָּעָהrowsטוּרִיםof stones:אָבֶןa rowטוּרof ruby,אֹדֶםtopaz,פִּטְדָהand emeraldוּבָרֶקֶתshall be the firstהָאֶחָדrow;הַטּוּר
the secondהַשֵּׁנִיrow,וְהַטּוּרturquoise,נֹפֶךְsapphire,סַפִּירand diamond;וְיָהֲלֹם
the thirdהַשְּׁלִישִׁיrow,וְהַטּוּרjacinth,לֶשֶׁםagate,שְׁבוֹand amethyst;וְאַחְלָמָה
and the fourthהָרְבִיעִיrow,וְהַטּוּרchrysolite,תַּרְשִׁישׁonyx,וְשֹׁהַםand jasper.וְיָשְׁפֵהThey shall beיִהְיוּsetמְשֻׁבָּצִיםin goldזָהָבin their mountings.בְּמִלּוּאֹתָם
The stonesוְהָאֲבָנִיםshall beתִּהְיֶיןָaccording toעַלthe namesשְׁמֹתof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלtwelve,שְׁתֵּים עֶשְׂרֵהaccording toעַלtheir names;שְׁמֹתָםwith engravingsפִּתּוּחֵיof a signet,חוֹתָםeachאִישׁwithעַלits name,שְׁמוֹthey shall beתִּהְיֶיןָfor the twelveלִשְׁנֵי עָשָׂרtribes.שָׁבֶט
You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָonעַלthe breastpieceהַחֹשֶׁןtwistedגַּבְלֻתchains,שַׁרְשֹׁתof cordedעֲבֹתwork,מַעֲשֵׂהof pureטָהוֹרgold.זָהָב
You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָonעַלthe breastpieceהַחֹשֶׁןtwoשְׁתֵּיringsטַבְּעוֹתof gold,זָהָבand putוְנָתַתָּthe twoאֶת שְׁתֵּיringsהַטַּבָּעוֹתonעַלthe twoשְׁנֵיendsקְצוֹתof the breastpiece.הַחֹשֶׁן
You shall putוְנָתַתָּהthe twoאֶת שְׁתֵּיcordsעֲבֹתֹתof goldהַזָּהָבinעַלthe twoשְׁתֵּיringsהַטַּבָּעֹתatאֶלthe endsקְצוֹתof the breastpiece;הַחֹשֶׁן
and the other twoוְאֵת שְׁתֵּיendsקְצוֹתof the twoשְׁתֵּיcordsהָעֲבֹתֹתyou shall putתִּתֵּןonעַלthe twoשְׁתֵּיsettings,הַמִּשְׁבְּצוֹתand put themוְנָתַתָּהonעַלthe shoulder piecesכִּתְפוֹתof the ephodהָאֵפֹדatאֶלthe frontמוּלof it.פָּנָיו
You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָtwoשְׁתֵּיringsטַבְּעוֹתof goldזָהָבand putוְשַׂמְתָּthemאֹתָםonעַלthe twoשְׁנֵיendsקְצוֹתof the breastpiece,הַחֹשֶׁןonעַלits edgeשְׂפָתוֹthatאֲשֶׁרis towardאֶלthe sideעֵבֶרof the ephod,הָאֵפֹדinward.בָּיְתָה
You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָtwoשְׁתֵּיringsטַבְּעוֹתof goldזָהָבand putוְנָתַתָּהthemאֹתָםonעַלthe twoשְׁתֵּיshoulder piecesכִתְפוֹתof the ephod,הָאֵפוֹדlow down,מִלְּמַטָּהonמִמּוּלits front,פָּנָיוclose toלְעֻמַּתits seam,מֶחְבַּרְתּוֹaboveמִמַּעַלthe woven bandלְחֵשֶׁבof the ephod.הָאֵפוֹד
They shall bindוְיִרְכְּסוּthe breastpieceאֶת הַחֹשֶׁןby its ringsמִטַּבְּעֹתָיוtoאֶלthe ringsטַבְּעֹתof the ephodהָאֵפֹדwith a cordבִּפְתִילof blue,תְּכֵלֶתso that it isלִהְיוֹתonעַלthe woven bandחֵשֶׁבof the ephod,הָאֵפוֹדand the breastpieceוְ הַחֹשֶׁןshall not come looseלֹא יִזַּחfromמֵעַלthe ephod.הָאֵפוֹד
Aaronאַהֲרֹןshall bearוְנָשָׂאthe namesאֶת שְׁמוֹתof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלin the breastpieceבְּחֹשֶׁןof judgmentהַמִּשְׁפָּטonעַלhis heartלִבּוֹwhen he goesבְּבֹאוֹintoאֶלthe Holy Place,הַקֹּדֶשׁas a memorialלְזִכָּרֹןbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהcontinually.תָּמִיד
You shall putוְנָתַתָּinאֶלthe breastpieceחֹשֶׁןof judgmentהַמִּשְׁפָּטthe Urimאֶת הָאוּרִיםand the Thummim,וְאֶת הַתֻּמִּיםand they shall beוְהָיוּonעַלthe heartלֵבof Aaronאַהֲרֹןwhen he goes inבְּבֹאוֹbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWH;יְהוָהand Aaronוְ אַהֲרֹןshall bearנָשָׂאthe judgmentאֶת מִשְׁפַּטof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלonעַלhis heartלִבּוֹbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהcontinually.תָּמִיד
You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָthe robeאֶת מְעִילof the ephodהָאֵפוֹדallכְּלִילof blue.תְּכֵלֶת
There shall beוְהָיָהan openingפִיfor its headרֹאשׁוֹin its middle,בְּתוֹכוֹwith a bindingשָׂפָהaroundסָבִיבits opening,לְפִיוthe workמַעֲשֵׂהof a weaver;אֹרֵגlike the openingכְּפִיof a coat of mailתַחְרָאit shall beיִהְיֶהfor it,לּוֹso that it will not tear.לֹא יִקָּרֵעַ
Onעַלits hemשׁוּלָיוyou shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָpomegranatesרִמֹּנֵיof blue,תְּכֵלֶתpurple,וְאַרְגָּמָןand scarlet yarn,וְתוֹלַעַת שָׁנִיonעַלits hemשׁוּלָיוall around,סָבִיבand bellsוּפַעֲמֹנֵיof goldזָהָבbetween themבְּתוֹכָםall around:סָבִיב
a goldenזָהָבbellפַּעֲמֹןand a pomegranate,וְרִמּוֹןa goldenזָהָבbellפַּעֲמֹןand a pomegranate,וְרִמּוֹןonעַלthe hemשׁוּלֵיof the robeהַמְּעִילall around.סָבִיב
It shall beוְהָיָהonעַלAaronאַהֲרֹןto minister,לְשָׁרֵתand its soundוְ קוֹלוֹshall be heardנִשְׁמַעwhen he goesבְּבֹאוֹintoאֶלthe Holy PlaceהַקֹּדֶשׁbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהand when he comes out,וּבְצֵאתוֹso that he will not die.וְלֹא יָמוּת
You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָa plateצִּיץof pureטָהוֹרgoldזָהָבand engraveוּפִתַּחְתָּon it,עָלָיוwith engravingsפִּתּוּחֵיof a signet,חֹתָם‘Holinessקֹדֶשׁto YHWH.’לַיהוָה
You shall fastenוְשַׂמְתָּitאֹתוֹonעַלa cordפְּתִילof blue,תְּכֵלֶתand it shall beוְהָיָהonעַלthe turban;הַמִּצְנָפֶתonאֶלthe frontמוּל פְּנֵיof the turbanהַמִּצְנֶפֶתit shall be.יִהְיֶה
It shall beוְהָיָהonעַלthe foreheadמֵצַחof Aaron,אַהֲרֹןand Aaronוְ אַהֲרֹןshall bearנָשָׂאthe iniquityאֶת עֲוֺןof the holy thingsהַקֳּדָשִׁיםthatאֲשֶׁרthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלconsecrate,יַקְדִּישׁוּin allלְכָלtheir holyקָדְשֵׁיהֶםgifts;מַתְּנֹתit shall beוְהָיָהonעַלhis foreheadמִצְחוֹcontinually,תָּמִידfor their acceptanceלְרָצוֹן לָהֶםbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWH.יְהוָה
You shall weaveוְשִׁבַּצְתָּthe tunicהַכְּתֹנֶתof fine linen,שֵׁשׁand makeוְעָשִׂיתָa turbanמִצְנֶפֶתof fine linen,שֵׁשׁand a sashוְאַבְנֵטyou shall make,תַּעֲשֶׂהthe workמַעֲשֵׂהof an embroiderer.רֹקֵם
For the sonsוְלִבְנֵיof Aaronאַהֲרֹןyou shall makeתַּעֲשֶׂהtunics,כֻתֳּנֹתand you shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָfor themלָהֶםsashes,אַבְנֵטִיםand capsוּמִגְבָּעוֹתyou shall makeתַּעֲשֶׂהfor them,לָהֶםfor honorלְכָבוֹדand for beauty.וּלְתִפְאָרֶת
You shall clotheוְהִלְבַּשְׁתָּwith themאֹתָםAaronאֶת אַהֲרֹןyour brother,אָחִיךָand his sonsוְאֶת בָּנָיוwith him,אִתּוֹand anointוּמָשַׁחְתָּthemאֹתָםand ordainוּמִלֵּאתָthemאֶת יָדָםand consecrateוְקִדַּשְׁתָּthem,אֹתָםthat they may serve as priestsוְכִהֲנוּfor me.לִי
Makeוַעֲשֵׂהfor themלָהֶםlinenבָדundergarmentsמִכְנְסֵיto coverלְכַסּוֹתthe fleshבְּשַׂרof their nakedness;עֶרְוָהfrom the hipsמִמָּתְנַיִםtoוְעַדthe thighsיְרֵכַיִםthey shall reach.יִהְיוּ
They shall beוְהָיוּonעַלAaronאַהֲרֹןand onוְעַלhis sonsבָּנָיוwhen they goבְּבֹאָםintoאֶלthe tentאֹהֶלof meeting,מוֹעֵדorאוֹwhen they come nearבְגִשְׁתָּםtoאֶלthe altarהַמִּזְבֵּחַto ministerלְשָׁרֵתin the Holy Place,בַּקֹּדֶשׁso that they do not bearוְלֹא יִשְׂאוּiniquityעָוֺןand die.וָמֵתוּIt is a statuteחֻקַּתforeverעוֹלָםfor himלוֹand for his offspringוּלְזַרְעוֹafter him.אַחֲרָיו
