And a shootחֹטֶרwill come outוְיָצָאfrom the trunkמִגֵּזַעof Jesse,יִשָׁיand a branchוְנֵצֶרfrom his rootsמִשָּׁרָשָׁיוwill bear fruit.יִפְרֶה
And the spiritרוּחַof YHWHיְהוָהwill restוְנָחָהon him,עָלָיוthe spiritרוּחַof wisdomחָכְמָהand understanding,וּבִינָהthe spiritרוּחַof counselעֵצָהand might,וּגְבוּרָהthe spiritרוּחַof knowledgeדַּעַתand of the fearוְיִרְאַתof YHWH.יְהוָה
And his delightוַהֲרִיחוֹwill be in the fearבְּיִרְאַתof YHWH;יְהוָהand he will notוְלֹאjudgeיִשְׁפּוֹטby whatלְhis eyesעֵינָיוsee,מַרְאֵהnorוְלֹאdecideיוֹכִיחַby whatלְhis earsאָזְנָיוhear;מִשְׁמַע
but he will judgeוְשָׁפַטthe poorדַּלִּיםwith righteousness,בְּצֶדֶקand decideוְהוֹכִיחַwith uprightnessבְּמִישׁוֹרfor the humbleלְעַנְוֵיof the earth;אָרֶץand he will strikeוְהִכָּהthe earthאֶרֶץwith the rodבְּשֵׁבֶטof his mouth,פִּיוand with the breathוּבְרוּחַof his lipsשְׂפָתָיוhe will put to deathיָמִיתthe wicked.רָשָׁע
And righteousnessצֶדֶקwill beוְהָיָהthe beltאֵזוֹרof his loins,מָתְנָיוand faithfulnessוְהָאֱמוּנָהthe beltאֵזוֹרof his hips.חֲלָצָיו
And the wolfזְאֵבwill dwellוְגָרwith the lamb,עִם כֶּבֶשׂand the leopardוְנָמֵרwill lie downיִרְבָּץwith the young goat,עִם גְּדִיand the calfוְעֵגֶלand the young lionוּכְפִירand the fattened animalוּמְרִיאtogether,יַחְדָּוand a littleקָטֹןboyוְנַעַרwill leadנֹהֵגthem.בָּם
And the cowוּפָרָהand the bearוָדֹבwill graze;תִּרְעֶינָהtheir youngיַלְדֵיהֶןwill lie downיִרְבְּצוּtogether;יַחְדָּוand the lion,וְאַרְיֵהlike the ox,כַּבָּקָרwill eatיֹאכַלstraw.תֶּבֶן
And the nursing childיוֹנֵקwill playוְשִׁעֲשַׁעover the holeעַל חֻרof the viper,פָּתֶןand over the denוְעַל מְאוּרַתof the cobraצִפְעוֹנִיthe weaned childגָּמוּלwill stretch outהָדָהhis hand.יָדוֹ
They will notלֹאdo harmיָרֵעוּorוְלֹאdestroyיַשְׁחִיתוּin allבְּכָלmy holyקָדְשִׁיmountain;הַרforכִּיthe earthהָאָרֶץwill be fullמָלְאָהof the knowledgeדֵּעָהof YHWHאֶת יְהוָהas the watersכַּמַּיִםcoverמְכַסִּיםthe sea.לַיָּם
And it will happenוְהָיָהon that dayבַּיּוֹם הַהוּאthat the rootשֹׁרֶשׁof Jesse,יִשַׁיwhoאֲשֶׁרstandsעֹמֵדas a bannerלְנֵסfor the peoples,עַמִּיםthe nationsגּוֹיִםwill seekיִדְרֹשׁוּhim,אֵלָיוand his resting placeוְ מְנֻחָתוֹwill beהָיְתָהglory.כָּבוֹד
And it will happenוְהָיָהon that dayבַּיּוֹם הַהוּאthat Adonaiאֲדֹנָיwill againיוֹסִיףextend his handיָדוֹa second timeשֵׁנִיתto acquireלִקְנוֹתthe remnantשְׁאָרof his peopleעַמּוֹthatאֲשֶׁרremains,יִשָּׁאֵרfrom Assyria,מֵאַשּׁוּרfrom Egypt,וּמִמִּצְרַיִםfrom Pathros,וּמִפַּתְרוֹסfrom Cush,וּמִכּוּשׁfrom Elam,וּמֵעֵילָםfrom Shinar,וּמִשִּׁנְעָרfrom Hamath,וּמֵחֲמָתand from the coastlandsוּמֵאִיֵּיof the sea.הַיָּם
And he will raiseוְנָשָׂאa bannerנֵסfor the nations,לַגּוֹיִםand gatherוְאָסַףthe banishedנִדְחֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלand the scatteredוּנְפֻצוֹתof Judahיְהוּדָהhe will assembleיְקַבֵּץfrom the fourמֵאַרְבַּעcornersכַּנְפוֹתof the earth.הָאָרֶץ
And the envyקִנְאַתof Ephraimאֶפְרַיִםwill depart,וְסָרָהand the adversariesוְצֹרְרֵיof Judahיְהוּדָהwill be cut off;יִכָּרֵתוּEphraimאֶפְרַיִםwill notלֹאenvyיְקַנֵּאJudah,יְהוּדָהand Judahוִיהוּדָהwill notלֹאharassיָצֹרEphraim.אֶפְרָיִם
And they will swoop downוְעָפוּon the shoulderבְכָתֵףof the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּיםto the west;יָמָּהtogetherיַחְדָּוthey will plunderיָבֹזּוּthe sonsבְּנֵיof the east;קֶדֶםEdomאֱדוֹםand Moabוּמוֹאָבwill be the reachמִשְׁלוֹחof their hand,יָדָםand the sonsוּבְנֵיof Ammonעַמּוֹןtheir subjects.מִשְׁמַעְתָּם
And YHWHיְהוָהwill devote to destructionוְהֶחֱרִיםthe tongueלְשׁוֹןof the seaיָםof Egypt,מִצְרַיִםand he will waveוְהֵנִיףhis handיָדוֹover the Riverעַל הַנָּהָרwith the heatבַּעְיָםof his wind,רוּחוֹand strike itוְהִכָּהוּinto sevenלְשִׁבְעָהstreams,נְחָלִיםand make people crossוְהִדְרִיךְin sandals.בַּנְּעָלִים
And there will beוְהָיְתָהa highwayמְסִלָּהfor the remnantלִשְׁאָרof his peopleעַמּוֹthatאֲשֶׁרremainsיִשָּׁאֵרfrom Assyria,מֵאַשּׁוּרasכַּאֲשֶׁרthere wasהָיְתָהfor Israelלְיִשְׂרָאֵלon the dayבְּיוֹםthey came upעֲלֹתוֹfrom the landמֵאֶרֶץof Egypt.מִצְרָיִם
