a voiceφωνὴof one crying outβοῶντοςinἐνthe wilderness,τῇ ἐρήμῳ‘PrepareἙτοιμάσατεthe wayτὴν ὁδὸνof the Lord,κυρίουmakeποιεῖτεhisαὐτοῦpathsτὰς τρίβουςstraight.’”εὐθείας
JohnἸωάννηςthe Immerserὁ βαπτίζωνappearedἐγένετοinἐνthe wilderness,τῇ ἐρήμῳproclaimingκηρύσσωνan immersionβάπτισμαof change of mindμετανοίαςforεἰςthe forgivenessἄφεσινof sins.ἁμαρτιῶν
Andκαὶallπᾶσαthe Judeanἡ Ἰουδαίαcountrysideχώραandκαὶallπάντεςthe people of Jerusalemοἱ Ἱεροσολυμῖταιwere going outἐξεπορεύετοtoπρὸςhim,αὐτὸνandκαὶthey were being immersedἐβαπτίζοντοbyὑπ’himαὐτοῦinἐνthe Jordanτῷ ἸορδάνῃRiver,ποταμῷconfessingἐξομολογούμενοιtheir sins.τὰς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶν
AndκαὶJohnὁ Ἰωάννηςwasἦνclothedἐνδεδυμένοςin camel’sκαμήλουhairτρίχαςandκαὶworea leatherδερματίνηνbeltζώνηνaroundπερὶhis waist,τὴν ὀσφὺν αὐτοῦandκαὶhe ateἔσθωνlocustsἀκρίδαςandκαὶwildἄγριονhoney.μέλι
Andκαὶhe was proclaiming,ἐκήρυσσενsaying,λέγων“AfterὀπίσωmeμουcomesἜρχεταιthe oneὁstronger thanἰσχυρότερόςI,μουthe strapτὸν ἱμάνταof whoseοὗ αὐτοῦsandalsτῶν ὑποδημάτωνI amεἰμὶnotοὐκworthyἱκανὸςto stoop downκύψαςand untie.λῦσαι
Iἐγὼimmersedἐβάπτισαyouὑμᾶςin water,ὕδατιbutδὲheαὐτὸςwill immerseβαπτίσειyouὑμᾶςinἐνthe HolyἁγίῳSpirit.”πνεύματι
AndΚαὶit happenedἐγένετοinἐνthose daysἐκείναις ταῖς ἡμέραιςthat JesusἸησοῦςcameἦλθενfromἀπὸNazarethΝαζαρὲτof Galileeτῆς Γαλιλαίαςandκαὶwas immersedἐβαπτίσθηinεἰςthe Jordanτὸν ἸορδάνηνbyὑπὸJohn.Ἰωάννου
Andκαὶat once,εὐθὺςas he was coming upἀναβαίνωνout ofἐκthe water,τοῦ ὕδατοςhe sawεἶδενthe heavensτοὺς οὐρανοὺςbeing torn openσχιζομένουςandκαὶthe Spiritτὸ πνεῦμαcoming downκαταβαῖνονlikeὡςa doveπεριστερὰνtoεἰςhim.αὐτόν
Andκαὶa voiceφωνὴcameἐγένετοfromἐκthe heavens:τῶν οὐρανῶν“YouΣὺareεἶmyμουbelovedὁ ἀγαπητόςSon;ὁ υἱόςinἐνyouσοὶI am well pleased.”εὐδόκησα
AndΚαὶat onceεὐθὺςthe Spiritτὸ πνεῦμαdrivesἐκβάλλειhimαὐτὸνoutἐκβάλλειintoεἰςthe wilderness.τὴν ἔρημον
Andκαὶhe wasἦνinἐνthe wildernessτῇ ἐρήμῳfortyτεσσεράκονταdays,ἡμέραςbeing testedπειραζόμενοςbyὑπὸSatan;τοῦ Σατανᾶandκαὶhe wasἦνwithμετὰthe wild animals,τῶν θηρίωνandκαὶthe angelsοἱ ἄγγελοιwere servingδιηκόνουνhim.αὐτῷ
NowΚαὶafterμετὰJohnτὸν Ἰωάννηνwas handed over,τὸ παραδοθῆναιJesusὁ ἸησοῦςcameἦλθενintoεἰςGalilee,τὴν Γαλιλαίανproclaimingκηρύσσωνthe good newsτὸ εὐαγγέλιονof Godτοῦ θεοῦ
andκαὶsaying,λέγων“The timeὁ καιρὸςis fulfilled,Πεπλήρωταιandκαὶthe kingdomἡ βασιλείαof Godτοῦ θεοῦhas come near;ἤγγικενchange your mindsμετανοεῖτεandκαὶbelieveπιστεύετεinἐνthe good news.”τῷ εὐαγγελίῳ
AndΚαὶpassing alongπαράγωνbyπαρὰthe Seaτὴν θάλασσανof Galilee,τῆς Γαλιλαίαςhe sawεἶδενSimonΣίμωναandκαὶAndrew,ἈνδρέανSimon’sΣίμωνοςbrother,τὸν ἀδελφὸνcasting a netἀμφιβάλλονταςinἐνthe sea;τῇ θαλάσσῃforγὰρthey wereἦσανfishermen.ἁλιεῖς
AndκαὶJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaidεἶπενto them,αὐτοῖς“ComeΔεῦτεafterὀπίσωme,μουandκαὶI will makeποιήσωyouὑμᾶςbecomeγενέσθαιfishersἁλιεῖςof people.”ἀνθρώπων
Andκαὶat onceεὐθὺςthey leftἀφέντεςthe netsτὰ δίκτυαand followedἠκολούθησανhim.αὐτῷ
Andκαὶgoing onπροβὰςa little,ὀλίγονhe sawεἶδενJamesἸάκωβονthe sonτὸνof Zebedeeτοῦ ΖεβεδαίουandκαὶJohnἸωάννηνhis brother,τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦwhoαὐτοὺςwerealsoκαὶinἐνthe boatτῷ πλοίῳmendingκαταρτίζονταςthe nets.τὰ δίκτυα
Andκαὶat onceεὐθὺςhe calledἐκάλεσενthem;αὐτούςandκαὶleavingἀφέντεςtheir fatherτὸν πατέρα αὐτῶνZebedeeΖεβεδαῖονinἐνthe boatτῷ πλοίῳwithμετὰthe hired men,τῶν μισθωτῶνthey went awayἀπῆλθονafterὀπίσωhim.αὐτοῦ
AndΚαὶthey goεἰσπορεύονταιintoεἰςCapernaum.ΚαφαρναούμAndκαὶat onceεὐθὺςon the Sabbathτοῖς σάββασινhe was teachingἐδίδασκενinεἰςthe synagogue.τὴν συναγωγήν
Andκαὶthey were astonishedἐξεπλήσσοντοatἐπὶhis teaching,τῇ διδαχῇ αὐτοῦforγὰρhe wasἦνteachingδιδάσκωνthemαὐτοὺςasὡςone who hasἔχωνauthority,ἐξουσίανandκαὶnotοὐχasὡςthe scribes.οἱ γραμματεῖς
Andκαὶat onceεὐθὺςthere wasἦνinἐνtheir synagogueτῇ συναγωγῇ αὐτῶνa manἄνθρωποςwithἐνan uncleanἀκαθάρτῳspirit,πνεύματιandκαὶhe cried out,ἀνέκραξεν
saying,λέγων“WhatΤίhave we to doἡμῖνwithκαὶyou,σοίJesusἸησοῦof Nazareth?ΝαζαρηνέHave you comeἦλθεςto destroyἀπολέσαιus?ἡμᾶςI knowοἶδάwhoτίςyouσεare,εἶthe Holy Oneὁ ἅγιοςof God!”τοῦ θεοῦ
AndκαὶJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςrebukedἐπετίμησενhim,αὐτῷsaying,λέγων“Be silent,Φιμώθητιandκαὶcome outἔξελθεofἐξhim!”αὐτοῦ
Andκαὶthe uncleanτὸ ἀκάθαρτονspirit,τὸ πνεῦμαconvulsingσπαράξανhimαὐτὸνandκαὶcrying outφωνῆσανwith a loudμεγάλῃvoice,φωνῇcame outἐξῆλθενofἐξhim.αὐτοῦ
Andκαὶthey were allἅπαντεςamazed,ἐθαμβήθησανso thatὥστεthey questionedσυζητεῖνone another,πρὸς ἑαυτοὺςsaying,λέγοντας“WhatΤίisἐστινthis?τοῦτοA newκαινήteachingδιδαχὴwithκατ’authority!ἐξουσίανHe commandsἐπιτάσσειevenκαὶthe uncleanτοῖς ἀκαθάρτοιςspirits,τοῖς πνεύμασιandκαὶthey obeyὑπακούουσινhim.”αὐτῷ
Andκαὶthe reportἡ ἀκοὴabout himαὐτοῦwent outἐξῆλθενat onceεὐθὺςeverywhereπανταχοῦintoεἰςallὅληνthe surrounding regionτὴν περίχωρονof Galilee.τῆς Γαλιλαίας
AndΚαὶat once,εὐθὺςhaving gone outἐξελθόντεςofἐκthe synagogue,τῆς συναγωγῆςthey wentἦλθονintoεἰςthe houseτὴν οἰκίανof SimonΣίμωνοςandκαὶAndrew,ἈνδρέουwithμετὰJamesἸακώβουandκαὶJohn.Ἰωάννου
NowδὲSimon’sΣίμωνοςmother-in-lawἡ πενθερὰwas lying sickκατέκειτοwith a fever,πυρέσσουσαandκαὶat onceεὐθὺςthey tellλέγουσινhimαὐτῷaboutπερὶher.αὐτῆς
Andκαὶhe cameπροσελθὼνand raisedἤγειρενherαὐτὴνup,ἤγειρενtakingκρατήσαςher by the hand;τῆς χειρόςandκαὶthe feverὁ πυρετόςleftἀφῆκενher,αὐτὴνandκαὶshe began servingδιηκόνειthem.αὐτοῖς
WhenδὲeveningὈψίαςcame,γενομένηςwhenὅτεthe sunὁ ἥλιοςset,ἔδυthey were bringingἔφερονtoπρὸςhimαὐτὸνallπάνταςwhoτοὺςwere illκακῶς ἔχονταςandκαὶthose whoτοὺςwere possessed by demons.δαιμονιζομένους
Andκαὶthe wholeὅληtownἡ πόλιςwasἦνgathered togetherἐπισυνηγμένηatπρὸςthe door.τὴν θύραν
Andκαὶhe healedἐθεράπευσενmanyπολλοὺςwho were sickκακῶς ἔχονταςwith variousποικίλαιςdiseases,νόσοιςandκαὶhe drove outἐξέβαλενmanyπολλὰdemons,δαιμόνιαandκαὶhe would notοὐκletἤφιενthe demonsτὰ δαιμόνιαspeak,λαλεῖνbecauseὅτιthey knewᾔδεισανhim.αὐτόν
AndΚαὶveryλίανearly,πρωῒwhile it was still night,ἔννυχαhe got upἀναστὰςand went outἐξῆλθενandκαὶwent awayἀπῆλθενtoεἰςa desertedἔρημονplace,τόπονand thereκἀκεῖhe was praying.προσηύχετο
AndκαὶSimonΣίμωνandκαὶthoseοἱwithμετ’himαὐτοῦsearched forκατεδίωξενhim,αὐτὸν
andκαὶthey foundεὗρονhimαὐτὸνandκαὶsayλέγουσινto him,αὐτῷ“EveryoneΠάντεςis looking forζητοῦσίνyou.”σε
Andκαὶhe saysλέγειto them,αὐτοῖς“Let us goἌγωμενelsewhere,ἀλλαχοῦintoεἰςthe nearbyτὰς ἐχομέναςtowns,κωμοπόλειςso thatἵναI may proclaim the messageκηρύξωthereἐκεῖalso;καὶforγὰρthat is whyεἰς τοῦτοI came out.”ἐξῆλθον
Andκαὶhe wentἦλθενproclaimingκηρύσσωνinεἰςtheir synagoguesτὰς συναγωγὰς αὐτῶνthroughoutεἰςallὅληνGalilee,τὴν Γαλιλαίανandκαὶdriving outἐκβάλλωνthe demons.τὰ δαιμόνια
AndΚαὶa man with leprosyλεπρὸςcomesἔρχεταιtoπρὸςhim,αὐτὸνbeggingπαρακαλῶνhimαὐτὸνandκαὶkneeling,γονυπετῶνand sayingλέγωνto him,αὐτῷ“IfἘὰνyou are willing,θέλῃςyou canδύνασαίmakeκαθαρίσαιmeμεclean.”καθαρίσαι
Andκαὶbecoming angry,ὀργισθεὶςhe stretched outἐκτείναςhis handτὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦand touched himἥψατοandκαὶsaysλέγειto him,αὐτῷ“I am willing;Θέλωbe made clean.”καθαρίσθητι
Andκαὶat onceεὐθὺςthe leprosyἡ λέπραleftἀπῆλθενhim,ἀπ’ αὐτοῦandκαὶhe was made clean.ἐκαθαρίσθη
Andκαὶsternly warningἐμβριμησάμενοςhim,αὐτῷhe sentἐξέβαλενhimαὐτόνawayἐξέβαλενat once,εὐθὺς
andκαὶsaysλέγειto him,αὐτῷ“See thatὍραyou sayεἴπῃςnothingμηδὲνto anyone;μηδενὶbutἀλλὰgo,ὕπαγεshowδεῖξονyourselfσεαυτὸνto the priest,τῷ ἱερεῖandκαὶofferπροσένεγκεforπερὶyour cleansingτοῦ καθαρισμοῦ σουwhatἃMosesΜωϋσῆςcommanded,προσέταξενasεἰςa testimonyμαρτύριονto them.”αὐτοῖς
Butδὲheὁwent outἐξελθὼνand beganἤρξατοto proclaimκηρύσσεινit freelyπολλὰandκαὶto spreadδιαφημίζεινthe word,τὸν λόγονso thatὥστεheαὐτὸνcouldδύνασθαιno longerμηκέτιenterεἰσελθεῖνa townεἰς πόλινopenly,φανερῶςbutἀλλὰwasἦνoutἔξωinἐπ’desertedἐρήμοιςplaces;τόποιςandκαὶthey kept comingἤρχοντοtoπρὸςhimαὐτὸνfrom everywhere.πάντοθεν
