Crowds by the sea

Matthew 12:15-21

See them side by side

Mark 3:7-12

7And Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed; and from Judea 8and from Jerusalem and from Idumea and beyond the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, hearing all that he was doing, came to him. 9And he told his disciples that a small boat should be kept ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him; 10for he had healed many, so that all who had afflictions were pressing upon him to touch him. 11And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, would fall down before him and cry out, saying, “You are the Son of God!” 12And he sternly warned them not to make him known.

Matthew 12:15-21

15But Jesus, knowing this, withdrew from there. And many followed him, and he healed them all, 16and he warned them not to make him known, 17so that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, when he says, 18“Look, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased; I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. 19He will not quarrel or cry out, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets. 20A crushed reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not put out, until he brings justice to victory; 21and in his name the nations will hope.”
