The wordדְּבַרof YHWHיְהוָהthatאֲשֶׁרcameהָיָהtoאֶלMicahמִיכָהthe Morashtiteהַמֹּרַשְׁתִּיin the daysבִּימֵיof Jotham,יוֹתָםAhaz,אָחָזand Hezekiah,יְחִזְקִיָּהkingsמַלְכֵיof Judah,יְהוּדָהwhichאֲשֶׁרhe sawחָזָהconcerningעַלSamariaשֹׁמְרוֹןand Jerusalem.וִירוּשָׁלִָם
Hear,שִׁמְעוּpeoples,עַמִּיםall of you;כֻּלָּםpay attention,הַקְשִׁיבִיearth,אֶרֶץand all that fills it;וּמְלֹאָהּand letוִAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWHיְהוִהbeיהִיa witnessלְעֵדagainst you,בָּכֶםAdonaiאֲדֹנָיfrom his holyקָדְשׁוֹtemple.מֵהֵיכַל
Forכִּיlook,הִנֵּהYHWHיְהוָהis coming outיֹצֵאfrom his place,מִמְּקוֹמוֹand he will come downוְיָרַדand treadוְדָרַךְonעַלthe high placesבָּמֳתֵיof the earth.אָרֶץ
And the mountainsוְ הֶהָרִיםwill meltנָמַסּוּunder him,תַּחְתָּיוand the valleysוְהָעֲמָקִיםwill split open,יִתְבַּקָּעוּlike waxכַּדּוֹנַגbeforeמִפְּנֵיthe fire,הָאֵשׁlike watersכְּמַיִםpoured downמֻגָּרִיםa slope.בְּמוֹרָד
For the transgressionבְּפֶשַׁעof Jacobיַעֲקֹבis allכָּלthis,זֹאתand for the sinsוּבְחַטֹּאותof the houseבֵּיתof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵלWhatמִיis the transgressionפֶשַׁעof Jacob?יַעֲקֹבIs it notהֲלוֹאSamaria?שֹׁמְרוֹןAnd whatוּמִיare the high placesבָּמוֹתof Judah?יְהוּדָהIs it notהֲלוֹאJerusalem?יְרוּשָׁלִָם
“And I will makeוְשַׂמְתִּיSamariaשֹׁמְרוֹןa heap of ruinsלְעִיin the field,הַשָּׂדֶהa place for plantingלְמַטָּעֵיa vineyard;כָרֶםand I will pour downוְהִגַּרְתִּיinto the valleyלַגַּיher stones,אֲבָנֶיהָand her foundationsוִיסֹדֶיהָI will lay bare.אֲגַלֶּה
And allוְכָלher carved imagesפְּסִילֶיהָwill be smashed,יֻכַּתּוּand allוְכָלher wagesאֶתְנַנֶּיהָwill be burnedיִשָּׂרְפוּwith fire,בָאֵשׁand allוְכָלher idolsעֲצַבֶּיהָI will makeאָשִׂיםa desolation;שְׁמָמָהforכִּיfrom the wagesמֵאֶתְנַןof a prostituteזוֹנָהshe gathered them,קִבָּצָהand to the wagesוְעַד אֶתְנַןof a prostituteזוֹנָהthey will return.”יָשׁוּבוּ
Because ofעַלthisזֹאתI will lamentאֶסְפְּדָהand wail;וְאֵילִילָהI will goאֵילְכָהbarefootשׁוֹלָלand naked;וְעָרוֹםI will makeאֶעֱשֶׂהa lamentמִסְפֵּדlike the jackals,כַּתַּנִּיםand mourningוְאֵבֶלlike the ostriches.כִּבְנוֹת יַעֲנָה
Forכִּיincurableאֲנוּשָׁהare her wounds,מַכּוֹתֶיהָforכִּיit has comeבָאָהas far asעַדJudah;יְהוּדָהit has reachedנָגַעas far asעַדthe gateשַׁעַרof my people,עַמִּיas far asעַדJerusalem.יְרוּשָׁלִָם
In Gathבְּגַתdo notאַלreport it;תַּגִּידוּdo notאַלweepתִּבְכּוּat all.בָּכוֹIn Beth-leaphrahבְּבֵית לְעַפְרָהroll yourselfהִתְפַּלָּשִׁיin the dust.עָפָר
Pass on,עִבְרִי לָכֶםinhabitantיוֹשֶׁבֶתof Shaphir,שָׁפִירin nakednessעֶרְיָהand shame;בֹשֶׁתthe inhabitantיוֹשֶׁבֶתof Zaananצַאֲנָןhas notלֹאcome out;יָצְאָהthe lamentמִסְפַּדof Beth-ezelבֵּית הָאֵצֶלwill takeיִקַּחfrom youמִכֶּםits support.עֶמְדָּתוֹ
Forכִּיthe inhabitantיוֹשֶׁבֶתof Marothמָרוֹתis in anguishחָלָהfor good,לְטוֹבforכִּיevilרָעhas come downיָרַדfromמֵאֵתYHWHיְהוָהto the gateלְשַׁעַרof Jerusalem.יְרוּשָׁלִָם
Harnessרְתֹםthe chariotהַמֶּרְכָּבָהto the steed,לָרֶכֶשׁinhabitantיוֹשֶׁבֶתof Lachish;לָכִישׁshe was the beginningרֵאשִׁית הִיאof sinחַטָּאתfor the daughterלְבַתof Zion,צִיּוֹןforכִּיin youבָךְwere foundנִמְצְאוּthe transgressionsפִּשְׁעֵיof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵל
Thereforeלָכֵןyou will giveתִּתְּנִיparting giftsשִׁלּוּחִיםtoעַלMoresheth-gath;מוֹרֶשֶׁת גַּתthe housesבָּתֵּיof Achzibאַכְזִיבwill be a deceptionלְאַכְזָבto the kingsלְמַלְכֵיof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵל
AgainעֹדI will bringאָבִיthe conquerorהַיֹּרֵשׁto you,לָךְinhabitantיוֹשֶׁבֶתof Mareshah;מָרֵשָׁהas far asעַדAdullamעֲדֻּלָּםthe gloryכְּבוֹדof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלwill come.יָבוֹא
Shave yourself baldקָרְחִיand shear yourselfוָגֹזִּיfor the childrenעַל בְּנֵיof your delight;תַּעֲנוּגָיִךְmake wideהַרְחִבִיyour baldnessקָרְחָתֵךְlike the eagle,כַּנֶּשֶׁרforכִּיthey have gone into exileגָלוּfrom you.מִמֵּךְ
