whoאֲשֶׁרdeviseחָשְׁבוּevilsרָעוֹתin the heart;בְּלֵבeveryכָּלdayיוֹםthey stir upיָגוּרוּwars.מִלְחָמוֹת
They sharpenשָׁנֲנוּtheir tongueלְשׁוֹנָםlike a serpent;כְּמוֹ נָחָשׁthe venomחֲמַתof an aspעַכְשׁוּבis underתַּחַתtheir lips.שְׂפָתֵימוֹSelah.סֶלָה
Keep me,שָׁמְרֵנִיYHWH,יְהוָהfrom the handsמִידֵיof the wicked;רָשָׁעfrom the manמֵאִישׁof violent deedsחֲמָסִיםguard me,תִּנְצְרֵנִיwhoאֲשֶׁרhave devisedחָשְׁבוּto thrust asideלִדְחוֹתmy steps.פְּעָמָי
The proudגֵאִיםhave hiddenטָמְנוּa snareפַּחfor me,לִיand cords;וַחֲבָלִיםthey have spreadפָּרְשׂוּa netרֶשֶׁתbesideלְיַדthe track;מַעְגָּלtrapsמֹקְשִׁיםthey have setשָׁתוּfor me.לִיSelah.סֶלָה
I saidאָמַרְתִּיto YHWH,לַיהוָה“My Elאֵלִיare you;אָתָּהlisten,הַאֲזִינָהYHWH,יְהוָהto the voiceקוֹלof my supplications.”תַּחֲנוּנָי
YHWHיְהֹוִהAdonai,אֲדֹנָיstrengthעֹזof my salvation,יְשׁוּעָתִיyou have coveredסַכֹּתָהmy headלְרֹאשִׁיon the dayבְּיוֹםof weapons.נָשֶׁק
Do notאַלgrant,תִּתֵּןYHWH,יְהוָהthe desiresמַאֲוַיֵּיof the wicked;רָשָׁעhis intrigueזְמָמוֹdo notאַלfurther;תָּפֵקthey would exalt themselves.יָרוּמוּSelah.סֶלָה
As for the headרֹאשׁof those who surround me,מְסִבָּיmay the troubleעֲמַלof their lipsשְׂפָתֵימוֹcover them.יְכַסֵּמוֹ
May coalsגֶּחָלִיםfallיִמּוֹטוּupon them;עֲלֵיהֶםmay he make them fallיַפִּלֵםinto the fire,בָּאֵשׁinto deep pits;בְּמַהֲמֹרוֹתmay they notבַּלrise.יָקוּמוּ
A manאִישׁof tongueלָשׁוֹןwill notבַּלbe establishedיִכּוֹןon the earth;בָּאָרֶץthe manאִישׁof violence,חָמָסevilרָעwill hunt himיְצוּדֶנּוּwith thrust upon thrust.לְמַדְחֵפֹת
I knowיָדַעְתִּיthatכִּיYHWHיְהוָהwill executeיַעֲשֶׂהthe causeדִּיןof the afflicted,עָנִיand the rightמִשְׁפַּטof the needy.אֶבְיֹנִים
Surelyאַךְthe righteousצַדִּיקִיםwill give thanksיוֹדוּto your name;לִשְׁמֶךָthe uprightיְשָׁרִיםwill dwellיֵשְׁבוּbeforeאֶתyour face.פָּנֶיךָ
