Day 3 · Hearing and doing
Ezra reads the law from morning until midday, and all the people listen closely
And all the people gathered as one man into the square that is in front of the Water Gate, and they told Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which YHWH had commanded Israel. So Ezra the priest brought the law before the assembly, from man to woman, and all who could understand to listen, on the first day of the seventh month. And he read in it before the square that is in front of the Water Gate, from the light until the middle of the day, in front of the men and the women and those who could understand; and the ears of all the people were toward the book of the law. And Ezra the scribe stood on a tower of wood that they had made for this; and beside him stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, at his right; and at his left Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hashbaddanah, Zechariah, Meshullam. And Ezra opened the book before the eyes of all the people, for he was above all the people; and when he opened it, all the people stood up. And Ezra blessed YHWH, the great Elohim; and all the people answered, “Amen, amen,” lifting up their hands; and they bowed and prostrated themselves before YHWH with their faces to the ground. And Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites were making the people understand the law, and the people were in their place. And they read in the book, in the law of Elohim, clearly, and gave the sense, and they understood the reading.

Day 4 · Keeping it in the heart
Hear, Israel: keep these words on your heart and repeat them to your children every day
Hear, Israel: YHWH our Elohim, YHWH is one. You shall love YHWH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These words that I am commanding you today shall be on your heart. You shall repeat them to your children and talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Day 5 · God speaks
By YHWH's word the heavens were made; he spoke, and it was
By the word of YHWH the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their army. He gathers like a heap the waters of the sea; he puts in storehouses the deeps. Let all the earth fear YHWH; of him let all the inhabitants of the world be afraid. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.

Day 7 · Hearing and doing
Jesus explains the parable: the seed falls on four kinds of ground
Now this is the parable: the seed is the word of God. And those along the path are the ones who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. And those on the rock are the ones who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root; they believe for a while, and in a time of testing fall away. And what fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked by worries and riches and pleasures of life, and they do not bring fruit to maturity. But that in the good soil, these are the ones who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, hold it fast and bear fruit with perseverance.
