They brought inוַיָּבִיאוּthe arkאֲרוֹןof Elohimהָאֱלֹהִיםand setוַיַּצִּיגוּitאֹתוֹinsideבְּתוֹךְthe tentהָאֹהֶלthatאֲשֶׁרDavidדָּוִידhad pitchedנָטָהfor it;לוֹand they offeredוַיַּקְרִיבוּburnt offeringsעֹלוֹתand peace offeringsוּשְׁלָמִיםbeforeלִפְנֵיElohim.הָאֱלֹהִים
When Davidוַ דָּוִידhad finishedיְכַלoffering upמֵהַעֲלוֹתthe burnt offeringהָעֹלָהand the peace offerings,וְהַשְּׁלָמִיםhe blessedוַיְבָרֶךְthe peopleהָעָםin the nameבְּשֵׁםof YHWH.יְהוָה
And he distributedוַיְחַלֵּקto everyלְכָלmanאִישׁof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלfromמֵmanאִישׁtoוְעַדwoman,אִשָּׁהto each oneלְאִישׁa cakeכִּכַּרof bread,לֶחֶםa portion of meat,וְאֶשְׁפָּרand a raisin cake.וַאֲשִׁישָׁה
He appointedוַיִּתֵּןbeforeלִפְנֵיthe arkאֲרוֹןof YHWHיְהוָהsome ofמִןthe Levitesהַלְוִיִּםas ministers,מְשָׁרְתִיםto make remembranceוּלְהַזְכִּירand to give thanksוּלְהוֹדוֹתand to praiseוּלְהַלֵּלYHWH,לַיהוָהthe Elohimאֱלֹהֵיof Israel:יִשְׂרָאֵל
Asaphאָסָףthe head,הָרֹאשׁand his second,וּמִשְׁנֵהוּZechariah;זְכַרְיָהJeiel,יְעִיאֵלand Shemiramoth,וּשְׁמִירָמוֹתand Jehiel,וִיחִיאֵלand Mattithiah,וּמַתִּתְיָהand Eliab,וֶאֱלִיאָבand Benaiah,וּבְנָיָהוּand Obed-edom,וְעֹבֵד אֱדֹםand Jeiel,וִיעִיאֵלwith instrumentsבִּכְלֵיof harpsנְבָלִיםand with lyres;וּבְכִנֹּרוֹתand Asaphוְאָסָףwith the cymbals,בַּמְצִלְתַּיִםmaking himself heard;מַשְׁמִיעַ
and Benaiahוּבְנָיָהוּand Jahazielוְיַחֲזִיאֵלthe priests,הַכֹּהֲנִיםwith the trumpetsבַּחֲצֹצְרוֹתcontinuallyתָּמִידbeforeלִפְנֵיthe arkאֲרוֹןof the covenantבְּרִיתof Elohim.הָאֱלֹהִים
On thatבַּ הַהוּאdayיּוֹםthenאָזDavidדָּוִידfirst assignedנָתַן בָּרֹאשׁthe giving of thanksלְהֹדוֹתto YHWHלַיהוָהby the handבְּיַדof Asaphאָסָףand his brothers:וְאֶחָיו
“Give thanksהוֹדוּto YHWH;לַיהוָהcallקִרְאוּon his name;בִשְׁמוֹmake knownהוֹדִיעוּamong the peoplesבָעַמִּיםhis deeds.עֲלִילֹתָיו
Singשִׁירוּto him,לוֹsing psalmsזַמְּרוּto him;לוֹspeakשִׂיחוּof allבְּכָלhis wonders.נִפְלְאֹתָיו
Gloryהִתְהַלְלוּin his holyקָדְשׁוֹname;בְּשֵׁםlet the heartלֵבof those who seekמְבַקְשֵׁיYHWHיְהוָהbe glad.יִשְׂמַח
SeekדִּרְשׁוּYHWHיְהוָהand his strength;וְעֻזּוֹseekבַּקְּשׁוּhis faceפָנָיוcontinually.תָּמִיד
Rememberזִכְרוּhis wondersנִפְלְאֹתָיוthatאֲשֶׁרhe has done,עָשָׂהhis portentsמֹפְתָיוand the judgmentsוּמִשְׁפְּטֵיof his mouth,פִיהוּ
offspringזֶרַעof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלhis servant,עַבְדּוֹsonsבְּנֵיof Jacob,יַעֲקֹבhis chosen ones.בְּחִירָיו
HeהוּאisYHWHיְהוָהour Elohim;אֱלֹהֵינוּin allבְּכָלthe earthהָאָרֶץarehis judgments.מִשְׁפָּטָיו
Rememberזִכְרוּforeverלְעוֹלָםhis covenant,בְּרִיתוֹthe wordדָּבָרhe commandedצִוָּהfor a thousandלְאֶלֶףgenerations,דּוֹר
whichאֲשֶׁרhe madeכָּרַתwithאֶתAbraham,אַבְרָהָםand his oathוּשְׁבוּעָתוֹto Isaac;לְיִצְחָק
and he established itוַיַּעֲמִידֶהָfor Jacobלְיַעֲקֹבas a statute,לְחֹקfor Israelלְיִשְׂרָאֵלas an eternalעוֹלָםcovenant,בְּרִית
saying,לֵאמֹר‘To youלְךָI will giveאֶתֵּןthe landאֶרֶץof Canaan,כְּנָעַןthe allotmentחֶבֶלof your inheritance,’נַחֲלַתְכֶם
when you wereבִּהְיוֹתְכֶםfewמְתֵיin number,מִסְפָּרvery few,כִּמְעַטand resident aliensוְגָרִיםin it.בָּהּ
And they went aboutוַיִּתְהַלְּכוּfrom nationמִגּוֹיtoאֶלnation,גּוֹיand from a kingdomוּמִמַּמְלָכָהtoאֶלanotherאַחֵרpeople.עַם
He did not allowלֹא הִנִּיחַanyoneלְאִישׁto oppress them,לְעָשְׁקָםand he rebukedוַיּוֹכַחkingsמְלָכִיםon their account:עֲלֵיהֶם
‘Do notאַלtouchתִּגְּעוּmy anointed ones,בִּמְשִׁיחָיand to my prophetsוּבִנְבִיאַיdo noאַלharm.’תָּרֵעוּ
Singשִׁירוּto YHWH,לַיהוָהallכָּלthe earth;הָאָרֶץbring the newsבַּשְּׂרוּfrom dayמִיּוֹםtoאֶלdayיוֹםof his salvation.יְשׁוּעָתוֹ
Tellסַפְּרוּamong the nationsבַגּוֹיִםhis glory,כְּבוֹדוֹamong allבְּכָלthe peoplesהָעַמִּיםhis wonders.נִפְלְאֹתָיו
ForכִּיgreatגָדוֹלisYHWHיְהוָהand greatlyמְאֹדto be praised,וּמְהֻלָּלand awesomeוְנוֹרָאis heהוּאaboveעַלallכָּלgods.אֱלֹהִים
Forכִּיallכָּלthe godsאֱלֹהֵיof the peoplesהָעַמִּיםareidols,אֱלִילִיםbut YHWHוַיהוָהmadeעָשָׂהthe heavens.שָׁמַיִם
Splendorהוֹדand majestyוְהָדָרarebefore him;לְפָנָיוstrengthעֹזand joyוְחֶדְוָהarein his place.בִּמְקֹמוֹ
Giveהָבוּto YHWH,לַיהוָהfamiliesמִשְׁפְּחוֹתof the peoples,עַמִּיםgiveהָבוּto YHWHלַיהוָהgloryכָּבוֹדand strength.וָעֹז
Giveהָבוּto YHWHלַיהוָהthe gloryכְּבוֹדof his name;שְׁמוֹbringשְׂאוּan offeringמִנְחָהand comeוּבֹאוּbefore him;לְפָנָיוbow downהִשְׁתַּחֲווּto YHWHלַיהוָהin the splendorבְּהַדְרַתof holiness.קֹדֶשׁ
Trembleחִילוּbefore him,מִלְּפָנָיוallכָּלthe earth;הָאָרֶץyes,אַףthe worldתֵּבֵלstands firm;תִּכּוֹןit will notבַּלbe moved.תִּמּוֹט
Let the heavensהַשָּׁמַיִםbe glad,יִשְׂמְחוּand let the earthוְ הָאָרֶץrejoice,תָגֵלand let them sayוְיֹאמְרוּamong the nations,בַגּוֹיִם‘YHWHיְהוָהreigns!’מָלָךְ
Let the seaהַיָּםthunder,יִרְעַםand its fullness;וּמְלוֹאוֹlet the fieldהַשָּׂדֶהexult,יַעֲלֹץand allוְכָלthatאֲשֶׁרisin it.בּוֹ
Thenאָזthe treesעֲצֵיof the forestהַיָּעַרwill shout for joyיְרַנְּנוּbeforeמִלִּפְנֵיYHWH,יְהוָהforכִּיhe comesבָאto judgeלִשְׁפּוֹטthe earth.הָאָרֶץ
Give thanksהוֹדוּto YHWH,לַיהוָהforכִּיhe is good,טוֹבforכִּיhis loyal loveחַסְדּוֹis forever.לְעוֹלָם
And say,וְאִמְרוּ‘Save us,הוֹשִׁיעֵנוּElohimאֱלֹהֵיof our salvation;יִשְׁעֵנוּgather usוְקַבְּצֵנוּand deliver usוְהַצִּילֵנוּfromמִןthe nations,הַגּוֹיִםto give thanksלְהֹדוֹתto your holyקָדְשֶׁךָname,לְשֵׁםto gloryלְהִשְׁתַּבֵּחַin your praise.’בִּתְהִלָּתֶךָ
Blessed beבָּרוּךְYHWH,יְהוָהthe Elohimאֱלֹהֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלfrom eternityמִן הָעוֹלָםto eternity.”וְעַד הָעֹלָםAnd allוַ כָלthe peopleהָעָםsaid,יֹּאמְרוּ“Amen,”אָמֵןand praisedוְהַלֵּלYHWH.לַיהוָה
So he leftוַיַּעֲזָבthere,שָׁםbeforeלִפְנֵיthe arkאֲרוֹןof the covenantבְּרִיתof YHWH,יְהוָהAsaphלְאָסָףand his brothers,וּלְאֶחָיוto ministerלְשָׁרֵתbeforeלִפְנֵיthe arkהָאָרוֹןcontinually,תָּמִידas the matterלִדְבַרof each dayיוֹםrequired on its day;בְּיוֹמוֹ
and Obed-edomוְעֹבֵד אֱדֹםand their brothers,וַאֲחֵיהֶםsixty-eight;שִׁשִּׁים וּשְׁמוֹנָהand Obed-edomוְעֹבֵד אֱדֹםsonבֶּןof Jeduthun,יְדִיתוּןand Hosah,וְחֹסָהas gatekeepers;לְשֹׁעֲרִים
and Zadokוְ צָדוֹקthe priestהַכֹּהֵןand his brothersוְאֶחָיוthe priestsהַכֹּהֲנִיםhe leftbeforeלִפְנֵיthe dwellingמִשְׁכַּןof YHWHיְהוָהat the high placeבַּבָּמָהthatאֲשֶׁרwasat Gibeon,בְּגִבְעוֹן
to offer upלְהַעֲלוֹתburnt offeringsעֹלוֹתto YHWHלַיהוָהonעַלthe altarמִזְבַּחof burnt offeringהָעֹלָהcontinually,תָּמִידmorningלַבֹּקֶרand evening,וְלָעָרֶבand according to allוּלְכָלthat is writtenהַכָּתוּבin the lawבְּתוֹרַתof YHWH,יְהוָהwhichאֲשֶׁרhe commandedצִוָּהIsrael.עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל
And with themוְעִמָּהֶםHemanהֵימָןand Jeduthun,וִידוּתוּןand the restוּשְׁאָרof the selected onesהַבְּרוּרִיםwhoאֲשֶׁרwere designatedנִקְּבוּby nameבְּשֵׁמוֹתto give thanksלְהֹדוֹתto YHWH,לַיהוָהforכִּיhis loyal loveחַסְדּוֹis forever;לְעוֹלָם
and with themוְעִמָּהֶםHemanהֵימָןand Jeduthun,וִידוּתוּןtrumpetsחֲצֹצְרוֹתand cymbalsוּמְצִלְתַּיִםfor those making themselves heard,לְמַשְׁמִיעִיםand instrumentsוּכְלֵיof songשִׁירof Elohim;הָאֱלֹהִיםand the sonsוּבְנֵיof Jeduthunיְדוּתוּןwere for the gate.לַשָּׁעַר
Then allוַ כָלthe peopleהָעָםwent,יֵּלְכוּeachאִישׁto his house;לְבֵיתוֹand Davidוַ דָּוִידreturnedיִּסֹּבto blessלְבָרֵךְhis household.בֵּיתוֹ
