Davidדָּוִידgave ordersוַיֹּאמֶרto gatherלִכְנוֹסthe resident aliensאֶת הַגֵּרִיםwhoאֲשֶׁרwere in the landבְּאֶרֶץof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלand he appointedוַיַּעֲמֵדstonecuttersחֹצְבִיםto cutלַחְצוֹבhewnגָזִיתstonesאַבְנֵיto buildלִבְנוֹתthe houseבֵּיתof Elohim.הָאֱלֹהִים

and timbersוַעֲצֵיof cedarאֲרָזִיםwithoutלְאֵיןnumber,מִסְפָּרforכִּיthe Sidoniansהַצִּידֹנִיםand the Tyriansוְהַצֹּרִיםhad broughtהֵבִיאוּtimbersעֲצֵיof cedarאֲרָזִיםin abundanceלָרֹבto David.לְדָוִיד
Davidדָּוִידsaid,וַיֹּאמֶר“Solomonשְׁלֹמֹהmy sonבְנִיis a youthנַעַרand tender,וָרָךְand the houseוְהַבַּיִתthat is to be builtלִבְנוֹתfor YHWHלַיהוָהmust be made greatלְהַגְדִּילexceedingly,לְמַעְלָהfor renownלְשֵׁםand for beautyוּלְתִפְאֶרֶתin allלְכָלthe lands.הָאֲרָצוֹתLet me now prepare itאָכִינָה נָּאfor him.”לוֹSo Davidוַ דָּוִידpreparedיָּכֶןin abundanceלָרֹבbeforeלִפְנֵיhis death.מוֹתוֹ
He calledוַיִּקְרָאSolomonלִשְׁלֹמֹהhis sonבְנוֹand commanded himוַיְצַוֵּהוּto buildלִבְנוֹתa houseבַּיִתfor YHWH,לַיהוָהthe Elohimאֱלֹהֵיof Israel.יִשְׂרָאֵל
Davidדָּוִידsaidוַיֹּאמֶרto Solomon,לִשְׁלֹמֹה“My son,בְּנִיas for me,אֲנִיit wasהָיָהin my heartעִם לְבָבִיto buildלִבְנוֹתa houseבַּיִתfor the nameלְשֵׁםof YHWHיְהוָהmy Elohim.אֱלֹהָי
But the wordדְּבַרof YHWHיְהוָהcameוַיְהִיto me,עָלַיsaying,לֵאמֹר‘Bloodדָּםin abundanceלָרֹבyou have shed,שָׁפַכְתָּand greatגְּדֹלוֹתwarsוּמִלְחָמוֹתyou have waged.עָשִׂיתָYou shall notלֹאbuildתִבְנֶהa houseבַיִתfor my name,לִשְׁמִיforכִּיmuchרַבִּיםbloodדָּמִיםyou have shedשָׁפַכְתָּon the earthאַרְצָהbefore me.לְפָנָי
Look,הִנֵּהa sonבֵןwill be bornנוֹלָדto you;לָךְheהוּאwill beיִהְיֶהa manאִישׁof rest,מְנוּחָהand I will give him restוַהֲנִחוֹתִי לוֹfrom allמִכָּלhis enemiesאוֹיְבָיוaround;מִסָּבִיבforכִּיSolomonשְׁלֹמֹהwill beיִהְיֶהhis name,שְׁמוֹand peaceוְשָׁלוֹםand quietוָשֶׁקֶטI will giveאֶתֵּןtoעַלIsraelיִשְׂרָאֵלin his days.בְּיָמָיו
Heהוּאwill buildיִבְנֶהa houseבַיִתfor my name,לִשְׁמִיand heוְהוּאwill beיִהְיֶהto meלִּיa son,לְבֵןand Iוַאֲנִיwill be to himלוֹa father,לְאָבand I will establishוַהֲכִינוֹתִיthe throneכִּסֵּאof his kingdomמַלְכוּתוֹoverעַלIsraelיִשְׂרָאֵלforever.’עַד עוֹלָם
Now,עַתָּהmy son,בְנִיmay YHWHיְהוָהbeיְהִיwith you,עִמָּךְand you will prosperוְהִצְלַחְתָּand buildוּבָנִיתָthe houseבֵּיתof YHWHיְהוָהyour Elohim,אֱלֹהֶיךָasכַּאֲשֶׁרhe has spokenדִּבֶּרconcerning you.עָלֶיךָ
Onlyאַךְmay YHWHיְהוָהgive youיִתֶּן לְּךָdiscretionשֵׂכֶלand understandingוּבִינָהand put you in chargeוִיצַוְּךָoverעַלIsrael,יִשְׂרָאֵלso that you keepוְלִשְׁמוֹרthe lawאֶת תּוֹרַתof YHWHיְהוָהyour Elohim.אֱלֹהֶיךָ
Thenאָזyou will prosper,תַּצְלִיחַifאִםyou are carefulתִּשְׁמוֹרto doלַעֲשׂוֹתthe statutesאֶת הַחֻקִּיםand the rulesוְאֶת הַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהcommandedצִוָּהMosesאֶת מֹשֶׁהforעַלIsrael.יִשְׂרָאֵלBe strongחֲזַקand firm;וֶאֱמָץdo notאַלfearתִּירָאand do notוְאַלbe dismayed.תֵּחָת
Look,וְהִנֵּהin my afflictionבְעָנְיִיI have preparedהֲכִינוֹתִיfor the houseלְבֵיתof YHWHיְהוָהa hundredמֵאָהthousandאֶלֶףtalentsכִּכָּרִיםof goldזָהָבand a millionוְ אֶלֶף אֲלָפִיםtalentsכִּכָּרִיםof silver,כֶסֶףand bronzeוְלַנְּחֹשֶׁתand ironוְלַבַּרְזֶלbeyondאֵיןweighing,מִשְׁקָלforכִּיit isהָיָהin abundance.לָרֹבAnd timberוְעֵצִיםand stonesוַאֲבָנִיםI have prepared;הֲכִינוֹתִיand to themוַעֲלֵיהֶםyou will add.תּוֹסִיף
You have with youוְעִמְּךָin abundanceלָרֹבthose who doעֹשֵׂיthe work:מְלָאכָהstonecutters,חֹצְבִיםand workersוְחָרָשֵׁיin stoneאֶבֶןand wood,וָעֵץand all who are skilledוְכָל חָכָםin everyבְּכָלkind of work.מְלָאכָה
Of the gold,לַזָּהָבthe silver,לַכֶּסֶףthe bronze,וְלַנְּחֹשֶׁתand the ironוְלַבַּרְזֶלthere is noאֵיןnumber.מִסְפָּרAriseקוּםand do it,וַעֲשֵׂהand may YHWHוִ יְהוָהbeיהִיwith you.”עִמָּךְ

“Is notהֲלֹאYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֵיכֶםwith you?עִמָּכֶםHe has given you restוְהֵנִיחַ לָכֶםon every side;מִסָּבִיבforכִּיhe has givenנָתַןinto my handבְּיָדִיthe inhabitantsאֵת יֹשְׁבֵיof the land,הָאָרֶץand the landהָאָרֶץhas been subduedוְנִכְבְּשָׁהbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהand beforeוְלִפְנֵיhis people.עַמּוֹ
Nowעַתָּהsetתְּנוּyour heartלְבַבְכֶםand your soulוְנַפְשְׁכֶםto seekלִדְרוֹשׁYHWHלַיהוָהyour Elohim.אֱלֹהֵיכֶםSo ariseוְקוּמוּand buildוּבְנוּthe sanctuaryאֶת מִקְדַּשׁof YHWHיְהוָהElohim,הָאֱלֹהִיםso as to bringלְהָבִיאthe arkאֶת אֲרוֹןof the covenantבְּרִיתof YHWHיְהוָהand the holyקֹדֶשׁutensilsוּכְלֵיof Elohimהָאֱלֹהִיםinto the houseלַבַּיִתthat is builtהַנִּבְנֶהfor the nameלְשֵׁםof YHWH.”יְהוָה
