he is conceited,τετύφωταιunderstandingἐπιστάμενοςnothing,μηδὲνbutἀλλὰhas a morbid cravingνοσῶνforπερὶspeculationsζητήσειςandκαὶdisputes about words,λογομαχίαςout ofἐξwhichὧνcomeγίνεταιenvy,φθόνοςstrife,ἔριςslanders,βλασφημίαιevilπονηραίsuspicions,ὑπόνοιαι
constant frictionδιαπαρατριβαὶof peopleἀνθρώπωνcorruptedδιεφθαρμένωνin mindτὸν νοῦνandκαὶdeprivedἀπεστερημένωνof the truth,τῆς ἀληθείαςwho thinkνομιζόντωνthat godlinessτὴν εὐσέβειανisεἶναιa means of gain.πορισμὸν
Butδὲgodlinessἡ εὐσέβειαwithμετὰcontentmentαὐταρκείαςisἔστινgreatμέγαςgain.πορισμὸς
Forγὰρwe broughtεἰσηνέγκαμενnothingοὐδὲνintoεἰςthe world,τὸν κόσμονbecauseὅτιneitherοὐδὲcan weδυνάμεθαtake anything out.ἐξενεγκεῖν τι
Butδὲif we haveἔχοντεςfoodδιατροφὰςandκαὶclothing,σκεπάσματαwith theseτούτοιςwe will be content.ἀρκεσθησόμεθα

Butδέyou,ΣὺOὦmanἄνθρωπεof God,θεοῦfleeφεῦγεthese things;ταῦταandδὲpursueδίωκεrighteousness,δικαιοσύνηνgodliness,εὐσέβειανfaith,πίστινlove,ἀγάπηνendurance,ὑπομονήνgentleness.πραϋπαθίαν

to do good,ἀγαθοεργεῖνto be richπλουτεῖνinἐνgoodκαλοῖςworks,ἔργοιςto beεἶναιgenerous,εὐμεταδότουςsharing,κοινωνικούς
storing upἀποθησαυρίζονταςfor themselvesἑαυτοῖςa goodκαλὸνfoundationθεμέλιονforεἰςthe future,τὸ μέλλονso thatἵναthey may take holdἐπιλάβωνταιof the lifeτῆς ζωῆςthat is real.ὄντως
OὮTimothy,Τιμόθεεguardφύλαξονwhat has been entrusted to you,τὴν παραθήκηνturning away fromἐκτρεπόμενοςthe profaneτὰς βεβήλουςempty chatterκενοφωνίαςandκαὶcontradictionsἀντιθέσειςof what is falsely calledτῆς ψευδωνύμουknowledge,γνώσεως
whichἥνsome,τινεςby professing it,ἐπαγγελλόμενοιhave missed the markἠστόχησανconcerningπερὶthe faith.τὴν πίστινGraceἩ χάριςbewithμεθ’you.ὑμῶν
