butἀλλὰhospitable,φιλόξενονloving what is good,φιλάγαθονsensible,σώφροναrighteous,δίκαιονholy,ὅσιονself-controlled,ἐγκρατῆ
holding fastἀντεχόμενονto the trustworthyτοῦ πιστοῦwordλόγουthat accords withκατὰthe teaching,τὴν διδαχὴνso thatἵναhe may beᾖableδυνατὸςbothκαὶto exhortπαρακαλεῖνwithἐνsoundτῇ ὑγιαινούσῃteachingτῇ διδασκαλίᾳandκαὶto refuteἐλέγχεινthose whoτοὺςcontradict it.ἀντιλέγοντας
Forγὰρthere areΕἰσὶνmanyπολλοὶrebellious people,καὶ ἀνυπότακτοιempty talkersματαιολόγοιandκαὶdeceivers,φρεναπάταιespeciallyμάλισταthoseοἱofἐκthe circumcision,τῆς περιτομῆς
whoοὓςmustδεῖbe silenced,ἐπιστομίζεινsince theyοἵτινεςare upsettingἀνατρέπουσινwholeὅλουςhouseholds,οἴκουςteachingδιδάσκοντεςwhatἃthey should notμὴ δεῖfor the sake ofχάρινdishonestαἰσχροῦgain.κέρδους
Oneτιςofἐξthem,αὐτῶνa prophetπροφήτηςof their own,ἴδιος αὐτῶνsaid,εἶπέν“CretansΚρῆτεςarealwaysἀεὶliars,ψεῦσταιevilκακὰbeasts,θηρίαlazyἀργαίgluttons.”γαστέρες
Thisαὕτηtestimonyἡ μαρτυρίαisἐστὶνtrue.ἀληθήςForδι’thisἣνreasonαἰτίανrebukeἔλεγχεthemαὐτοὺςsharply,ἀποτόμωςso thatἵναthey may be soundὑγιαίνωσινinἐνthe faith,τῇ πίστει
notμὴpaying attentionπροσέχοντεςto JewishἸουδαϊκοῖςmythsμύθοιςandκαὶcommandmentsἐντολαῖςof peopleἀνθρώπωνwho turn away fromἀποστρεφομένωνthe truth.τὴν ἀλήθειαν
All thingsπάνταarecleanκαθαρὰto the clean;τοῖς καθαροῖςbutδὲto the defiledτοῖς μεμιαμμένοιςandκαὶunbelievingἀπίστοιςnothingοὐδὲνisclean;καθαρόνrather,ἀλλὰbothκαὶtheirαὐτῶνmindὁ νοῦςandκαὶconscienceἡ συνείδησιςhave been defiled.μεμίανται
They professὁμολογοῦσινto knowεἰδέναιGod,θεὸνbutδὲby their worksτοῖς ἔργοιςthey deny him,ἀρνοῦνταιbeingὄντεςdetestableβδελυκτοὶandκαὶdisobedientἀπειθεῖςandκαὶunfitἀδόκιμοιforπρὸςanyπᾶνgoodἀγαθὸνwork.ἔργον
