graceχάριςto youὑμῖνandκαὶpeaceεἰρήνηfromἀπὸGodθεοῦthe Fatherπατρὸςandκαὶthe LordκυρίουJesusἸησοῦthe Messiah.Χριστοῦ

We oughtὀφείλομενto give thanksΕὐχαριστεῖνto Godτῷ θεῷalwaysπάντοτεforπερὶyou,ὑμῶνbrothers,ἀδελφοίasκαθὼςisἐστινfitting,ἄξιόνbecauseὅτιyourὑμῶνfaithἡ πίστιςis growing abundantlyὑπεραυξάνειandκαὶthe loveἡ ἀγάπηof each oneἑνὸς ἑκάστουof allπάντωνof youὑμῶνforεἰςone anotherἀλλήλουςis increasing,πλεονάζει

so thatὥστεwe ourselvesαὐτοὺς ἡμᾶςboastἐγκαυχᾶσθαιaboutἐνyouὑμῖνinἐνthe assembliesταῖς ἐκκλησίαιςof Godτοῦ θεοῦforὑπὲρyourὑμῶνenduranceτῆς ὑπομονῆςandκαὶfaithπίστεωςinἐνallπᾶσινyour persecutionsτοῖς διωγμοῖς ὑμῶνandκαὶthe afflictionsταῖς θλίψεσινthatαἷςyou are enduring.ἀνέχεσθε

This is evidenceἔνδειγμαof the righteousτῆς δικαίαςjudgmentκρίσεωςof God,τοῦ θεοῦso thatεἰς τὸyouὑμᾶςmay be considered worthyκαταξιωθῆναιof the kingdomτῆς βασιλείαςof God,τοῦ θεοῦforὑπὲρwhichἧςyou are alsoκαὶsuffering,πάσχετε

if indeedεἴπερit is righteousδίκαιονwithπαρὰGodθεῷto repayἀνταποδοῦναιwith afflictionθλῖψινthose who afflictτοῖς θλίβουσινyou,ὑμᾶς

andκαὶto give reliefἄνεσινto youὑμῖνwho are afflictedτοῖς θλιβομένοιςalong withμεθ’us,ἡμῶνatἐνthe revelationτῇ ἀποκαλύψειof the Lordτοῦ κυρίουJesusἸησοῦfromἀπ’heavenοὐρανοῦwithμετ’the angelsἀγγέλωνof his power,δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ

inἐνa flameφλογὶof fire,πυρόςinflictingδιδόντοςpunishmentἐκδίκησινon those whoτοῖςdo notμὴknowεἰδόσιGodθεὸνandκαὶon those whoτοῖςdo notμὴobeyὑπακούουσινthe good newsτῷ εὐαγγελίῳof our Lordτοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶνJesus.Ἰησοῦ

Theyοἵτινεςwill payτίσουσινthe penaltyδίκηνof eternalαἰώνιονdestruction,ὄλεθρονaway fromἀπὸthe presenceπροσώπουof the Lordτοῦ κυρίουandκαὶfromἀπὸthe gloryτῆς δόξηςof his might,τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ

whenὅτανhe comesἔλθῃto be glorifiedἐνδοξασθῆναιinἐνhis saintsτοῖς ἁγίοις αὐτοῦandκαὶto be marveled atθαυμασθῆναιamongἐνallπᾶσινwho have believedτοῖς πιστεύσασιν—becauseὅτιour testimonyτὸ μαρτύριον ἡμῶνtoἐφ’youὑμᾶςwas believed—ἐπιστεύθηonἐνthatἐκείνῃday.τῇ ἡμέρᾳ

Toεἰςthis endὃwe alsoκαὶprayπροσευχόμεθαalwaysπάντοτεforπερὶyou,ὑμῶνthatἵναour Godὁ θεὸς ἡμῶνmay consider you worthyὑμᾶς ἀξιώσῃof his callingτῆς κλήσεωςandκαὶfulfillπληρώσῃwithἐνpowerδυνάμειeveryπᾶσανdesireεὐδοκίανfor goodnessἀγαθωσύνηςandκαὶworkἔργονof faith,πίστεως

so thatὅπωςthe nameτὸ ὄνομαof our Lordτοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶνJesusἸησοῦmay be glorifiedἐνδοξασθῇinἐνyou,ὑμῖνandκαὶyouὑμεῖςinἐνhim,αὐτῷaccording toκατὰthe graceτὴν χάρινof our Godτοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶνandκαὶthe LordκυρίουJesusἸησοῦthe Messiah.Χριστοῦ
