And a spiritרוּחַlifted me upוַתִּשָּׂא אֹתִיand brought meוַתָּבֵא אֹתִיto the easternהַקַּדְמוֹנִיgateאֶל שַׁעַרof the houseבֵּיתof YHWH,יְהוָהwhich facesהַפּוֹנֶהeast;קָדִימָהand look,וְהִנֵּהat the entranceבְּפֶתַחof the gateהַשַּׁעַרtwenty-fiveעֶשְׂרִים וַחֲמִשָּׁהmen,אִישׁand I sawוָאֶרְאֶהamong themבְתוֹכָםJaazaniahיַאֲזַנְיָהsonבֶןof Azzurעַזֻּרand Pelatiahוְ פְּלַטְיָהוּsonבֶןof Benaiah,בְּנָיָהוּprincesשָׂרֵיof the people.הָעָם
And he saidוַיֹּאמֶרto me,אֵלָי“Sonבֶּןof man,אָדָםthese areאֵלֶּהthe menהָאֲנָשִׁיםwho deviseהַחֹשְׁבִיםwickednessאָוֶןand who giveוְהַיֹּעֲצִיםevilרָעcounselעֲצַתin thisבָּ הַזֹּאתcity,עִיר
who say,הָאֹמְרִים‘The buildingבְּנוֹתof housesבָּתִּיםis notלֹאnear;בְקָרוֹבitהִיאis the pot,הַסִּירand weוַאֲנַחְנוּare the meat.’הַבָּשָׂר
Thereforeלָכֵןprophesyהִנָּבֵאagainst them,עֲלֵיהֶםprophesy,הִנָּבֵאsonבֶּןof man.”אָדָם
And the spiritוַ רוּחַof YHWHיְהוָהfellתִּפֹּלupon me,עָלַיand he saidוַיֹּאמֶרto me,אֵלַי“Say,אֱמֹר‘ThusכֹּהsaysאָמַרYHWH:יְהוָהSoכֵּןyou have said,אֲמַרְתֶּםhouseבֵּיתof Israel;יִשְׂרָאֵלand the things that come upוּמַעֲלוֹתin your spirit,רוּחֲכֶםIאֲנִיknow them.יְדַעְתִּיהָ
You have multipliedהִרְבֵּיתֶםyour slainחַלְלֵיכֶםin thisבָּ הַזֹּאתcity,עִירand have filledוּמִלֵּאתֶםits streetsחוּצֹתֶיהָwith the slain.חָלָל
ThereforeלָכֵןthusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִהYour slainחַלְלֵיכֶםwhomאֲשֶׁרyou have laidשַׂמְתֶּםin its midst,בְּתוֹכָהּtheyהֵמָּהare the meat,הַבָּשָׂרand itוְהִיאis the pot;הַסִּירbut youוְאֶתְכֶםI will bring outהוֹצִיאfrom its midst.מִתּוֹכָהּ
The swordחֶרֶבyou have feared,יְרֵאתֶםand the swordוְחֶרֶבI will bringאָבִיאupon you,עֲלֵיכֶםdeclaresנְאֻםAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH.יְהוִה
And I will bring you outוְהוֹצֵאתִי אֶתְכֶםfrom its midst,מִתּוֹכָהּand give youוְנָתַתִּי אֶתְכֶםinto the handבְּיַדof strangers,זָרִיםand carry outוְעָשִׂיתִיjudgmentsשְׁפָטִיםon you.בָכֶם
By the swordבַּחֶרֶבyou will fall;תִּפֹּלוּatעַלthe borderגְּבוּלof IsraelיִשְׂרָאֵלI will judgeאֶשְׁפּוֹטyou,אֶתְכֶםand you will knowוִידַעְתֶּםthatכִּיI amאֲנִיYHWH.יְהוָה
Itהִיאwill notלֹאbeתִהְיֶהfor youלָכֶםa pot,לְסִירnor will youוְאַתֶּםbeתִּהְיוּin its midstבְתוֹכָהּmeat;לְבָשָׂרatאֶלthe borderגְּבוּלof IsraelיִשְׂרָאֵלI will judgeאֶשְׁפֹּטyou.אֶתְכֶם
And you will knowוִידַעְתֶּםthatכִּיI amאֲנִיYHWH,יְהוָהin whoseאֲשֶׁרstatutesבְּחֻקַּיyou have notלֹאwalked,הֲלַכְתֶּםand whose rulesוּמִשְׁפָּטַיyou have notלֹאcarried out,עֲשִׂיתֶםbut according to the rulesוּכְמִשְׁפְּטֵיof the nationsהַגּוֹיִםthat areאֲשֶׁרaround youסְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶםyou have acted.’”עֲשִׂיתֶם
And it came about,וַיְהִיas I prophesied,כְּהִנָּבְאִיthat Pelatiahוּפְלַטְיָהוּsonבֶןof Benaiahבְּנָיָהdied;מֵתand I fellוָאֶפֹּלon my faceעַל פָּנַיand cried outוָאֶזְעַקwith a loudגָּדוֹלvoiceקוֹלand said,וָאֹמַר“Ah,אֲהָהּAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH!יְהוִהAre youאַתָּהbringing aboutעֹשֶׂהcomplete destructionכָּלָהof the remnantשְׁאֵרִיתof Israel?”יִשְׂרָאֵל
And the wordוַ דְבַרof YHWHיְהוָהcameיְהִיto me,אֵלַיsaying,לֵאמֹר
“Sonבֶּןof man,אָדָםyour brothers,אַחֶיךָyour brothers,אַחֶיךָthe menאַנְשֵׁיof your redemption,גְאֻלָּתֶךָand allוְכָלthe houseבֵּיתof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלall of it,כֻּלֹּהare those to whomאֲשֶׁר לָהֶםthe inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵיof Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַםhave said,אָמְרוּ‘Go farרַחֲקוּfromמֵעַלYHWH;יְהוָהto usלָנוּitהִיאhas been given,נִתְּנָהthe land,הָאָרֶץas a possession.’לְמוֹרָשָׁה
Thereforeלָכֵןsay,אֱמֹר‘ThusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִהThoughכִּיI have removed them farהִרְחַקְתִּיםamong the nations,בַּגּוֹיִםand thoughוְכִיI have dispersed themהֲפִיצוֹתִיםamong the lands,בָּאֲרָצוֹתyet I have beenוָאֱהִיto themלָהֶםa sanctuaryלְמִקְדָּשׁfor a little whileמְעַטin the landsבָּאֲרָצוֹתwhereאֲשֶׁר שָׁםthey have gone.’בָּאוּ
Thereforeלָכֵןsay,אֱמֹר‘ThusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִהI will gatherוְקִבַּצְתִּיyouאֶתְכֶםfromמִןthe peoples,הָעַמִּיםand assembleוְאָסַפְתִּיyouאֶתְכֶםfromמִןthe landsהָאֲרָצוֹתwhereאֲשֶׁר בָּהֶםyou have been dispersed,נְפֹצוֹתֶםand I will giveוְנָתַתִּיyouלָכֶםthe groundאַדְמַתof Israel.’יִשְׂרָאֵל
And they will comeוּבָאוּthere,שָׁמָּהand removeוְהֵסִירוּallכָּלits detestable thingsשִׁקּוּצֶיהָand allוְ כָּלits abominationsתּוֹעֲבוֹתֶיהָfrom it.מִמֶּנָּה
And I will giveוְנָתַתִּיthemלָהֶםoneאֶחָדheart,לֵבand a newחֲדָשָׁהspiritוְרוּחַI will putאֶתֵּןwithin you;בְּקִרְבְּכֶםand I will removeוַהֲסִרֹתִיthe heartלֵבof stoneהָאֶבֶןfrom their flesh,מִבְּשָׂרָםand giveוְנָתַתִּיthemלָהֶםa heartלֵבof flesh,בָּשָׂר
so thatלְמַעַןin my statutesבְּחֻקֹּתַיthey may walk,יֵלֵכוּand keepוְ יִשְׁמְרוּmy rulesמִשְׁפָּטַיand carry them out;וְעָשׂוּ אֹתָםand they will beוְהָיוּmy people,לִי לְעָםand Iוַאֲנִיwill beאֶהְיֶהtheir Elohim.לָהֶם לֵאלֹהִים
But as for those whose heartוְ לִבָּםgoesהֹלֵךְafterאֶלthe heartלֵבof their detestable thingsשִׁקּוּצֵיהֶםand their abominations,וְתוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶםtheir wayדַּרְכָּםI will layנָתַתִּיon their head,בְּרֹאשָׁםdeclaresנְאֻםAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH.”יְהוִה
And the cherubimוַ הַכְּרוּבִיםliftedיִּשְׂאוּtheir wings,כַּנְפֵיהֶםand the wheelsוְהָאוֹפַנִּיםalongside them,לְעֻמָּתָםand the gloryוּכְבוֹדof the Elohimאֱלֹהֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלwas over themעֲלֵיהֶםabove.מִלְמָעְלָה
And the gloryוַ כְּבוֹדof YHWHיְהוָהwent upיַּעַלfromמֵעַלthe midstתּוֹךְof the cityהָעִירand stoodוַיַּעֲמֹדonעַלthe mountainהָהָרthat isאֲשֶׁרeastמִקֶּדֶםof the city.לָעִיר
And a spiritוְרוּחַlifted me upנְשָׂאַתְנִיand brought meוַתְּבִיאֵנִיto Chaldea,כַשְׂדִּימָהto the exiles,אֶל הַגּוֹלָהin the visionבַּמַּרְאֶהby the spiritבְּרוּחַof Elohim;אֱלֹהִיםand the visionהַמַּרְאֶהthatאֲשֶׁרI had seenרָאִיתִיwent upוַיַּעַלfrom me.מֵעָלַי
And I spokeוָאֲדַבֵּרto the exilesאֶל הַגּוֹלָהallכָּלthe wordsדִּבְרֵיof YHWHיְהוָהthatאֲשֶׁרhe had shown me.הֶרְאָנִי
