And the wordוַ דְבַרof YHWHיְהוָהcameיְהִיto me,אֵלַיsaying,לֵאמֹר
“Sonבֶּןof man,אָדָםsayאֱמֹרto the leaderלִנְגִידof Tyre:צֹר‘ThusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהֹוִהBecauseיַעַןyour heartלִבְּךָis lifted upגָּבַהּand you have said,וַתֹּאמֶר“Iאָנִיam El;אֵלin the seatמוֹשַׁבof ElohimאֱלֹהִיםI sitיָשַׁבְתִּיin the heartבְּלֵבof the seas,”יַמִּיםyet youוְאַתָּהare a human beingאָדָםand notוְלֹאEl,אֵלand you have setוַתִּתֵּןyour heartלִבְּךָlike the heartכְּלֵבof Elohim;אֱלֹהִים
look,הִנֵּהyouאַתָּהare wiserחָכָםthan Daniel;מִדָּנִיֵּאלnoכָּל לֹאsecretסָתוּםis hidden from you;עֲמָמוּךָ
by your wisdomבְּחָכְמָתְךָand by your understandingוּבִתְבוּנָתְךָyou have made for yourselfעָשִׂיתָ לְּךָwealth,חָיִלand you have madeוַתַּעַשׂgoldזָהָבand silverוָכֶסֶףin your treasuries;בְּאוֹצְרוֹתֶיךָ
by the abundanceבְּרֹבof your wisdom,חָכְמָתְךָby your tradeבִּרְכֻלָּתְךָyou have multipliedהִרְבִּיתָyour wealth,חֵילֶךָand your heartלְבָבְךָis lifted upוַיִּגְבַּהּbecause of your wealth;בְּחֵילֶךָ
thereforeלָכֵןthusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִהBecauseיַעַןyou have setתִּתְּךָyour heartאֶת לְבָבְךָlike the heartכְּלֵבof Elohim,אֱלֹהִים
therefore,לָכֵןlook, I amהִנְנִיbringingמֵבִיאagainst youעָלֶיךָstrangers,זָרִיםthe terrible onesעָרִיצֵיof the nations;גּוֹיִםand they will drawוְהֵרִיקוּtheir swordsחַרְבוֹתָםagainst the beautyעַל יְפִיof your wisdom,חָכְמָתֶךָand profaneוְחִלְּלוּyour splendor.יִפְעָתֶךָ
To the pitלַשַּׁחַתthey will bring you down,יוֹרִדוּךָand you will dieוָמַתָּהthe deathsמְמוֹתֵיof the mortally woundedחָלָלin the heartבְּלֵבof the seas.יַמִּים
Will you indeed say,הֶאָמֹר תֹּאמַר“Iאָנִיam Elohim,”אֱלֹהִיםbeforeלִפְנֵיthe one who kills you?הֹרְגֶךָBut youוְאַתָּהare a human beingאָדָםand notוְלֹאEl,אֵלin the handבְּיַדof those who mortally wound you.מְחַלְלֶיךָ
The deathsמוֹתֵיof the uncircumcisedעֲרֵלִיםyou will dieתָּמוּתby the handבְּיַדof strangers;זָרִיםforכִּיIאֲנִיhave spoken,דִבַּרְתִּיdeclaresנְאֻםAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH.’”יְהוִה
And the wordוַ דְבַרof YHWHיְהוָהcameיְהִיto me,אֵלַיsaying,לֵאמֹר
“Sonבֶּןof man,אָדָםraiseשָׂאa dirgeקִינָהover the kingעַל מֶלֶךְof Tyre,צוֹרand say to him:וְאָמַרְתָּ לּוֹ‘ThusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִהYouאַתָּהwere the sealחוֹתֵםof proportion,תָּכְנִיתfullמָלֵאof wisdomחָכְמָהand perfectionוּכְלִילof beauty.יֹפִי
In Eden,בְּעֵדֶןthe gardenגַּןof Elohim,אֱלֹהִיםyou were;הָיִיתָeveryכָּלpreciousיְקָרָהstoneאֶבֶןwas your covering:מְסֻכָתֶךָruby,אֹדֶםtopaz,פִּטְדָהand diamond,וְיָהֲלֹםchrysolite,תַּרְשִׁישׁonyx,שֹׁהַםand jasper,וְיָשְׁפֵהsapphire,סַפִּירturquoise,נֹפֶךְand emerald,וּבָרְקַתand gold;וְזָהָבthe workמְלֶאכֶתof your tambourinesתֻּפֶּיךָand of your settingsוּנְקָבֶיךָwas in you;בָּךְon the dayבְּיוֹםyou were createdהִבָּרַאֲךָthey were prepared.כּוֹנָנוּ
Youאַתְּwere a cherub,כְּרוּבextended,מִמְשַׁחthe one who covers,הַסּוֹכֵךְand I set you;וּנְתַתִּיךָon the holy mountainבְּהַר קֹדֶשׁof Elohimאֱלֹהִיםyou were;הָיִיתָin the midstבְּתוֹךְof the stonesאַבְנֵיof fireאֵשׁyou walked.הִתְהַלָּכְתָּ
Blamelessתָּמִיםyou wereאַתָּהin your waysבִּדְרָכֶיךָfrom the dayמִיּוֹםyou were createdהִבָּרְאָךְuntilעַדinjusticeעַוְלָתָהwas foundנִמְצָאin you.בָּךְ
By the abundanceבְּרֹבof your tradeרְכֻלָּתְךָyour midstתוֹכְךָwas filledמָלוּwith violence,חָמָסand you sinned;וַתֶּחֱטָאand I profaned youוָאֶחַלֶּלְךָfrom the mountainמֵהַרof Elohim,אֱלֹהִיםand I made you perish,וָאַבֶּדְךָcherubכְּרוּבwho covers,הַסֹּכֵךְfrom the midstמִתּוֹךְof the stonesאַבְנֵיof fire.אֵשׁ
Your heartלִבְּךָwas lifted upגָּבַהּbecause of your beauty;בְּיָפְיֶךָyou corruptedשִׁחַתָּyour wisdomחָכְמָתְךָfor the sake of your splendor;עַל יִפְעָתֶךָto the groundעַל אֶרֶץI cast you;הִשְׁלַכְתִּיךָbeforeלִפְנֵיkingsמְלָכִיםI set youנְתַתִּיךָthat they may gazeלְat youבָךְas a spectacle.רַאֲוָה
By the abundanceמֵרֹבof your iniquities,עֲוֺנֶיךָby the injusticeבְּעֶוֶלof your trade,רְכֻלָּתְךָyou profanedחִלַּלְתָּyour sanctuaries;מִקְדָּשֶׁיךָand I brought outוָאוֹצִאfireאֵשׁfrom your midst;מִתּוֹכְךָitהִיאdevoured you,אֲכָלַתְךָand I turned youוָאֶתֶּנְךָto ashesלְאֵפֶרon the earthעַל הָאָרֶץin the eyesלְעֵינֵיof allכָּלwho see you.רֹאֶיךָ
Allכָּלwho know youיוֹדְעֶיךָamong the peoplesבָּעַמִּיםare appalledשָׁמְמוּat you;עָלֶיךָdreadsבַּלָּהוֹתyou have become,הָיִיתָand you will be no moreוְאֵינְךָforever.’”עַד עוֹלָם
And the wordוַ דְבַרof YHWHיְהוָהcameיְהִיto me,אֵלַיsaying,לֵאמֹר
“Sonבֶּןof man,אָדָםsetשִׂיםyour faceפָּנֶיךָtoward Sidon,אֶל צִידוֹןand prophesyוְהִנָּבֵאagainst her,עָלֶיהָ
and say:וְאָמַרְתָּ‘ThusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִהLook, I amהִנְנִיagainst you,עָלַיִךְSidon,צִידוֹןand I will be glorifiedוְנִכְבַּדְתִּיin your midst;בְּתוֹכֵךְand they will knowוְיָדְעוּthatכִּיI amאֲנִיYHWH,יְהוָהwhen I executeבַּעֲשׂוֹתִיjudgmentsשְׁפָטִיםin herבָהּand am shown holyוְנִקְדַּשְׁתִּיin her.בָהּ
And I will sendוְשִׁלַּחְתִּיinto herבָהּpestilenceדֶּבֶרand bloodוָדָםinto her streets,בְּחוּצוֹתֶיהָand the slainחָלָלwill fallוְנִפְלַלin her midstבְּתוֹכָהּby the swordבְּחֶרֶבthat is against herעָלֶיהָfrom all around;מִסָּבִיבand they will knowוְיָדְעוּthatכִּיI amאֲנִיYHWH.יְהוָה
And there will notוְלֹאbeיִהְיֶהanymoreעוֹדfor the houseלְבֵיתof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלa pricklingמַמְאִירbrierסִלּוֹןor a painfulמַכְאִבthornוְקוֹץfrom allמִכֹּלthose around themסְבִיבֹתָםwho despiseהַשָּׁאטִיםthem;אוֹתָםand they will knowוְיָדְעוּthatכִּיI amאֲנִיAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH.’יְהוִה
ThusכֹּהsaysאָמַרAdonaiאֲדֹנָיYHWH:יְהוִה‘When I gatherבְּקַבְּצִיthe houseאֶת בֵּיתof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלfrom the peoplesמִן הָעַמִּיםamong whomאֲשֶׁר בָםthey have been scattered,נָפֹצוּand am shown holyוְנִקְדַּשְׁתִּיin themבָםin the eyesלְעֵינֵיof the nations,הַגּוֹיִםthen they will dwellוְיָשְׁבוּon their groundעַל אַדְמָתָםthatאֲשֶׁרI gaveנָתַתִּיto my servantלְעַבְדִּיJacob.לְיַעֲקֹב
And they will dwellוְיָשְׁבוּon itעָלֶיהָsecurely,לָבֶטַחand buildוּבָנוּhousesבָתִּיםand plantוְנָטְעוּvineyards,כְרָמִיםand dwellוְיָשְׁבוּsecurely,לָבֶטַחwhen I executeבַּעֲשׂוֹתִיjudgmentsשְׁפָטִיםon allבְּכֹלwho despiseהַשָּׁאטִיםthemאֹתָםfrom around them;מִסְּבִיבוֹתָםand they will knowוְיָדְעוּthatכִּיI amאֲנִיYHWHיְהוָהtheir Elohim.’”אֱלֹהֵיהֶם
