howπῶςwill weἡμεῖςescapeἐκφευξόμεθαif we neglectἀμελήσαντεςso greatτηλικαύτηςa salvation?σωτηρίαςItἥτιςhad its beginningἀρχὴν λαβοῦσαin being spokenλαλεῖσθαιthroughδιὰthe Lord,τοῦ κυρίουand was confirmedἐβεβαιώθηtoεἰςusἡμᾶςbyὑπὸthose who heard,τῶν ἀκουσάντων
while Godτοῦ θεοῦtestified along with themσυνεπιμαρτυροῦντοςby signsσημείοιςandτε καὶwondersτέρασινandκαὶvariousποικίλαιςmiraclesδυνάμεσινandκαὶdistributionsμερισμοῖςof the HolyἁγίουSpiritπνεύματοςaccording toκατὰhisαὐτοῦwill.τὴν θέλησιν
Forγὰρit was notΟὐto angelsἀγγέλοιςthat he subjectedὑπέταξενthe worldτὴν οἰκουμένηνto come,τὴν μέλλουσανaboutπερὶwhichἧςwe are speaking.λαλοῦμεν
Butδέsomeoneτιςhas testifiedδιεμαρτύρατοsomewhere,πούsaying:λέγωνWhatΤίisἐστινa human beingἄνθρωποςthatὅτιyou rememberμιμνῄσκῃhim,αὐτοῦorἢa sonυἱὸςof manἀνθρώπουthatὅτιyou look afterἐπισκέπτῃhim?αὐτόν
You madeἠλάττωσαςhimαὐτὸνa littleβραχύ τιlowerἠλάττωσαςthanπαρ’the angels;ἀγγέλουςyou crownedἐστεφάνωσαςhimαὐτόνwith gloryδόξῃandκαὶhonor;τιμῇ
you subjectedὑπέταξαςall thingsπάνταunderὑποκάτωhis feet.τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦForγὰρinἐνsubjectingτῷ ὑποτάξαιall thingsτὰ πάνταto him,he leftἀφῆκενnothingοὐδὲνnot subjectἀνυπότακτονto him.αὐτῷButδὲnowνῦνwe do not yetοὔπωseeὁρῶμενall thingsτὰ πάνταsubjectedὑποτεταγμέναto him.αὐτῷ
Butδὲwe seeβλέπομενthe one who was madeτὸν ἠλαττωμένονa littleβραχύ τιlowerἠλαττωμένονthanπαρ’the angels,ἀγγέλουςJesus,Ἰησοῦνcrownedἐστεφανωμένονwith gloryδόξῃandκαὶhonorτιμῇbecause ofδιὰthe sufferingτὸ πάθημαof death,τοῦ θανάτουso thatὅπωςapart fromχωρὶςGodθεοῦhe might tasteγεύσηταιdeathθανάτουforὑπὲρeveryone.παντὸς
Forγὰρit was fittingἜπρεπενfor him,αὐτῷfor whomδι’ ὃνareall thingsτὰ πάνταandκαὶthrough whomδι’ οὗareall things,τὰ πάνταin bringingἀγαγόνταmanyπολλοὺςsonsυἱοὺςtoεἰςglory,δόξανto makeτελειῶσαιthe founderτὸν ἀρχηγὸνof their salvationτῆς σωτηρίας αὐτῶνperfectτελειῶσαιthroughδιὰsufferings.παθημάτων
Forγὰρbothτεthe one who sanctifiesὅ ἁγιάζωνandκαὶthose who are being sanctifiedοἱ ἁγιαζόμενοιareallπάντεςfromἐξone;ἑνὸςfor thisδι’ ἣνreasonαἰτίανhe is notοὐκashamedἐπαισχύνεταιto callκαλεῖνthemαὐτοὺςbrothers,ἀδελφοὺς
saying:λέγωνI will proclaimἈπαγγελῶyour nameτὸ ὄνομά σουto my brothers;τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς μουinἐνthe midstμέσῳof the assemblyἐκκλησίαςI will sing praise toὑμνήσωyou.σε
Andκαὶagain:πάλινIἘγὼwill beἔσομαιtrustingπεποιθὼςinἐπ’him.αὐτῷAndκαὶagain:πάλινLook,ἸδοὺIἐγὼandκαὶthe childrenτὰ παιδίαwhomἅGodὁ θεόςhas givenἔδωκενme.μοι
SinceἘπεὶthereforeοὖνthe childrenτὰ παιδίαshareκεκοινώνηκενin bloodαἵματοςandκαὶflesh,σαρκόςheαὐτὸςalsoκαὶlikewiseπαραπλησίωςsharedμετέσχενin the same things,τῶν αὐτῶνso thatἵναthroughδιὰdeathτοῦ θανάτουhe might render powerlessκαταργήσῃthe one who hasτὸν ἔχονταthe powerτὸ κράτοςof death,τοῦ θανάτουthat is,τοῦτ’ ἔστιthe devil,τὸν διάβολον
andκαὶfreeἀπαλλάξῃthoseτούτουςwhoὅσοιthrough fearφόβῳof deathθανάτουwereἦσανsubjectἔνοχοιto slaveryδουλείαςthroughoutδιὰallπαντὸςtheir lives.τοῦ ζῆν
Forγὰρsurelyδήπουit is notοὐangelsἀγγέλωνhe takes hold of,ἐπιλαμβάνεταιbutἀλλὰhe takes hold ofἐπιλαμβάνεταιthe offspringσπέρματοςof Abraham.Ἀβραὰμ
Thereforeὅθενhe hadὤφειλενto be made likeὁμοιωθῆναιhis brothersτοῖς ἀδελφοῖςinκατὰevery way,πάνταso thatἵναhe might becomeγένηταιa mercifulἐλεήμωνandκαὶfaithfulπιστὸςhigh priestἀρχιερεὺςin the thingsτὰrelating toπρὸςGod,τὸν θεόνtoεἰς τὸmake expiation forἱλάσκεσθαιthe sinsτὰς ἁμαρτίαςof the people.τοῦ λαοῦ
Forγὰρbecauseἐν ᾧhe himselfαὐτὸςhas sufferedπέπονθενwhen tested,πειρασθείςhe is ableδύναταιto helpβοηθῆσαιthose who are being tested.τοῖς πειραζομένοις
