Draw near,קִרְבוּnations,גוֹיִםto hear,לִשְׁמֹעַand peoples,וּלְאֻמִּיםpay attention!הַקְשִׁיבוּLet the earthהָאָרֶץhear,תִּשְׁמַעand what fills it,וּמְלֹאָהּthe worldתֵּבֵלand allוְכָלthat comes forth from it.צֶאֱצָאֶיהָ
ForכִּיYHWH hasלַיהוָהwrathקֶצֶףagainst allעַל כָּלthe nations,הַגּוֹיִםand furyוְחֵמָהagainst allעַל כָּלtheir army;צְבָאָםhe has devoted them to destruction,הֶחֱרִימָםhe has given them overנְתָנָםto slaughter.לַטָּבַח
And their slainוְחַלְלֵיהֶםwill be cast out,יֻשְׁלָכוּand from their corpsesוּפִגְרֵיהֶםtheir stenchבָאְשָׁםwill rise,יַעֲלֶהand the mountainsהָרִיםwill meltוְנָמַסּוּwith their blood.מִדָּמָם
And allוְ כָּלthe armyצְבָאof the heavensהַשָּׁמַיִםwill dissolve,נָמַקּוּand the heavensהַשָּׁמָיִםwill be rolled upוְנָגֹלּוּlike a book,כַסֵּפֶרand allוְכָלtheir armyצְבָאָםwill fadeיִבּוֹלas a leafכִּ עָלֶהfadesנְבֹלfrom the vine,מִגֶּפֶןand as what fadesוּכְנֹבֶלֶתfrom the fig tree.מִתְּאֵנָה
Forכִּיmy swordחַרְבִּיis drenchedרִוְּתָהin the heavens;בַשָּׁמַיִםlook,הִנֵּהupon Edomעַל אֱדוֹםit will come down,תֵּרֵדand upon the peopleוְעַל עַםI have devoted to destruction,חֶרְמִיfor judgment.לְמִשְׁפָּט
The swordחֶרֶבof YHWHלַיהוָהis fullמָלְאָהof blood,דָםit is made fatהֻדַּשְׁנָהwith fat,מֵחֵלֶבwith the bloodמִדַּםof lambsכָּרִיםand male goats,וְעַתּוּדִיםwith the fatמֵחֵלֶבof the kidneysכִּלְיוֹתof rams;אֵילִיםforכִּיYHWH hasלַיהוָהa sacrificeזֶבַחin Bozrah,בְּבָצְרָהand a greatגָּדוֹלslaughterוְטֶבַחin the landבְּאֶרֶץof Edom.אֱדוֹם
And wild oxenוְ רְאֵמִיםwill come downיָרְדוּwith them,עִמָּםand young bullsוּפָרִיםwith the mighty bulls;עִם אַבִּירִיםand their landוְ אַרְצָםwill be drenchedרִוְּתָהwith blood,מִדָּםand their dustוַעֲפָרָםwith fatמֵחֵלֶבwill be made fat.יְדֻשָּׁן
Forכִּיit is a dayיוֹםof vengeanceנָקָםfor YHWH,לַיהוָהa yearשְׁנַתof recompenseשִׁלּוּמִיםfor the causeלְרִיבof Zion.צִיּוֹן
And its torrentsוְ נְחָלֶיהָwill be turnedנֶהֶפְכוּinto pitch,לְזֶפֶתand its dustוַעֲפָרָהּinto sulfur,לְגָפְרִיתand its landוְ אַרְצָהּwill becomeהָיְתָהburningבֹּעֵרָהpitch.לְזֶפֶת
Nightלַיְלָהand dayוְיוֹמָםit will notלֹאbe quenched;תִכְבֶּהforeverלְעוֹלָםits smokeעֲשָׁנָהּwill rise;יַעֲלֶהfrom generationמִדּוֹרto generationלָדוֹרit will lie waste;תֶּחֱרָבfor ever and everלְנֵצַח נְצָחִיםno oneאֵיןwill passעֹבֵרthrough it.בָּהּ
And the pelicanוִ הָ קָאַתand the hedgehogוְקִפּוֹדwill possess it,ירֵשׁוּand the ibisוְיַנְשׁוֹףand the ravenוְעֹרֵבwill dwellיִשְׁכְּנוּin it;בָהּand he will stretchוְנָטָהover itעָלֶיהָthe lineקַוof formlessnessתֹהוּand the stonesוְאַבְנֵיof emptiness.בֹהוּ
Its nobles,חֹרֶיהָand there is noוְאֵיןkingdomמְלוּכָהthereשָׁםthat they will proclaim,יִקְרָאוּand allוְכָלits princesשָׂרֶיהָwill beיִהְיוּnothing.אָפֶס
And bramblesוְ סִירִיםwill come upעָלְתָהin its palaces,אַרְמְנֹתֶיהָnettlesקִמּוֹשׂand thistlesוָחוֹחַin its fortresses;בְּמִבְצָרֶיהָand it will beוְהָיְתָהan abodeנְוֵהof jackals,תַנִּיםan enclosureחָצִירfor ostriches.לִבְנוֹת יַעֲנָה
And desert creaturesוּ צִיִּיםwill meetפָגְשׁוּwith hyenas,אֶת אִיִּיםand the male goatוְשָׂעִירwill callיִקְרָאto its companion;עַל רֵעֵהוּyes,אַךְthereשָׁםLilithלִּילִיתwill restהִרְגִּיעָהand findוּמָצְאָהfor herselfלָהּa resting place.מָנוֹחַ
Thereשָׁמָּהthe snakeקִפּוֹזwill nestקִנְּנָהand lay eggsוַתְּמַלֵּטand hatch themוּבָקְעָהand gather themוְדָגְרָהin its shadow;בְצִלָּהּyes,אַךְthereשָׁםthe harriersדַיּוֹתwill gather,נִקְבְּצוּeach oneאִשָּׁהwith its mate.רְעוּתָהּ
Seekדִּרְשׁוּfromמֵעַלthe bookסֵפֶרof YHWHיְהוָהand read:וּקְרָאוּnot oneאַחַת לֹאof theseמֵהֵנָּהis missing;נֶעְדָּרָהnoneאִשָּׁה לֹאlacksפָקָדוּits mate;רְעוּתָהּforכִּיmy mouth,פִיitהוּאhas commanded,צִוָּהand his spirit,וְרוּחוֹheהוּאhas gathered them.קִבְּצָן
And heוְהוּאhas castהִפִּילthe lotגּוֹרָלfor them,לָהֶןand his handוְיָדוֹhas divided itחִלְּקַתָּהfor themלָהֶםwith the line;בַּקָּוforeverעַד עוֹלָםthey will possess it;יִירָשׁוּהָfrom generationלְדוֹרto generationוָדוֹרthey will dwellיִשְׁכְּנוּin it.בָהּ
