When he had seizedπιάσαςhim,ὃνhe alsoκαὶput himἔθετοinεἰςprison,φυλακήνhanding him overπαραδοὺςto fourτέσσαρσινsquads of fourτετραδίοιςsoldiersστρατιωτῶνto guardφυλάσσεινhim,αὐτόνintendingβουλόμενοςafterμετὰthe Passoverτὸ πάσχαto bring him outἀναγαγεῖν αὐτὸνto the people.τῷ λαῷ
SoοὖνPeterὁ Πέτροςwas being keptἐτηρεῖτοinἐνthe prison;τῇ φυλακῇbutδὲprayerπροσευχὴwasἦνbeing madeγινομένηearnestlyἐκτενῶςbyὑπὸthe assemblyτῆς ἐκκλησίαςtoπρὸςGodτὸν θεὸνforπερὶhim.αὐτοῦ
AndδὲwhenὍτεHerodὁ Ἡρῴδηςwas aboutἤμελλενto bring him out,προαγαγεῖν αὐτὸνon thatτῇ ἐκείνῃnightνυκτὶPeterὁ Πέτροςwasἦνsleepingκοιμώμενοςbetweenμεταξὺtwoδύοsoldiers,στρατιωτῶνboundδεδεμένοςwith twoδυσίνchains,ἁλύσεσινandτεguardsφύλακέςbeforeπρὸthe doorτῆς θύραςwere keeping watch overἐτήρουνthe prison.τὴν φυλακήν
Andκαὶlook,ἰδοὺan angelἄγγελοςof the Lordκυρίουstood by,ἐπέστηandκαὶa lightφῶςshoneἔλαμψενinἐνthe cell;τῷ οἰκήματιandδὲstrikingπατάξαςPeter’sτοῦ Πέτρουsideτὴν πλευρὰνhe wokeἤγειρενhim,αὐτὸνsaying,λέγων“Get upἈνάσταquickly.”ἐν τάχειAndκαὶthe chainsαἱ ἁλύσειςfellἐξέπεσανoffἐκhisαὐτοῦhands.τῶν χειρῶν
Andδὲthe angelὁ ἄγγελοςsaidεἶπενtoπρὸςhim,αὐτόν“Fasten your beltΖῶσαιandκαὶtie onὑπόδησαιyour sandals.”τὰ σανδάλιά σουAndδὲhe didἐποίησενso.οὕτωςAndκαὶhe saysλέγειto him,αὐτῷ“Put onΠεριβαλοῦyour cloakτὸ ἱμάτιόν σουandκαὶfollowἀκολούθειme.”μοι
Andκαὶgoing outἐξελθὼνhe was following,ἠκολούθειandκαὶhe did notοὐκknowᾔδειthatὅτιwhatτὸwas happeningγινόμενονthroughδιὰthe angelτοῦ ἀγγέλουwasἐστινreal,ἀληθέςbutδὲhe thoughtἐδόκειhe was seeingβλέπεινa vision.ὅραμα
Andδὲpassingδιελθόντεςa firstπρώτηνguardφυλακὴνandκαὶa second,δευτέρανthey cameἦλθανtoἐπὶthe ironτὴν σιδηρᾶνgateτὴν πύληνthatτὴνleadsφέρουσανintoεἰςthe city,τὴν πόλινwhichἥτιςopenedἠνοίγηfor themαὐτοῖςby itself;αὐτομάτηandκαὶgoing outἐξελθόντεςthey went alongπροῆλθονoneμίανstreet,ῥύμηνandκαὶat onceεὐθέωςthe angelὁ ἄγγελοςleftἀπέστηhim.ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ
AndκαὶPeter,ὁ Πέτροςcomingγενόμενοςtoἐνhimself,ἑαυτῷsaid,εἶπεν“NowΝῦνI knowοἶδαtrulyἀληθῶςthatὅτιthe Lordὁ κύριοςhas sent outἐξαπέστειλενhis angelτὸν ἄγγελον αὐτοῦandκαὶrescuedἐξείλατόmeμεfromἐκthe handχειρὸςof HerodἩρῴδουandκαὶfrom allπάσηςthe expectationτῆς προσδοκίαςof the peopleτοῦ λαοῦof the Jews.”τῶν Ἰουδαίων
Andτεwhen he realized this,Συνιδώνhe wentἦλθενtoἐπὶthe houseτὴν οἰκίανof Mary,τῆς Μαρίαςthe motherτῆς μητρὸςof JohnἸωάννουwhoτοῦwas calledἐπικαλουμένουMark,Μάρκουwhereοὗmanyἱκανοὶwereἦσανgathered togetherσυνηθροισμένοιandκαὶpraying.προσευχόμενοι
Andδὲwhen heαὐτοῦknocked atκρούσαντοςthe doorτὴν θύρανof the gateway,τοῦ πυλῶνοςa servant girlπαιδίσκηnamedὀνόματιRhodaῬόδηcameπροσῆλθεto answer.ὑπακοῦσαι
AndκαὶrecognizingἐπιγνοῦσαPeter’sτοῦ Πέτρουvoice,τὴν φωνὴνforἀπὸjoyτῆς χαρᾶςshe did notοὐκopenἤνοιξενthe gateway,τὸν πυλῶναbutδὲran inεἰσδραμοῦσαand reportedἀπήγγειλενthat Peterτὸν Πέτρονwas standingἑστάναιbeforeπρὸthe gateway.τοῦ πυλῶνος
Butδὲtheyοἱsaidεἶπανtoπρὸςher,αὐτὴν“You are out of your mind.”ΜαίνῃButδὲsheἡkept insistingδιϊσχυρίζετοthat it wasἔχεινso.οὕτωςAndδὲtheyοἱwere saying,ἔλεγον“It isἐστινhis angel.”Ὁ ἄγγελός αὐτοῦ
ButδὲPeterὁ Πέτροςkept onἐπέμενενknocking;κρούωνandδὲwhen they opened,ἀνοίξαντεςthey sawεἶδανhimαὐτὸνandκαὶwere amazed.ἐξέστησαν
Butδὲmotioningκατασείσαςto themαὐτοῖςwith his handτῇ χειρὶto be silent,σιγᾶνhe describedδιηγήσατοto themαὐτοῖςhowπῶςthe Lordὁ κύριοςhad broughtἐξήγαγενhimαὐτὸνout ofἐκthe prison.τῆς φυλακῆςAndτεhe said,εἶπέν“ReportἈπαγγείλατεthese thingsταῦταto JamesἸακώβῳandκαὶto the brothers.”τοῖς ἀδελφοῖςAndκαὶhe went outἐξελθὼνand wentἐπορεύθηtoεἰςanotherἕτερονplace.τόπον

AndδὲHerod,Ἡρῴδηςafter searching forἐπιζητήσαςhimαὐτὸνandκαὶnotμὴfinding him,εὑρὼνexaminedἀνακρίναςthe guardsτοὺς φύλακαςand ordered themἐκέλευσενto be led away;ἀπαχθῆναιandκαὶgoing downκατελθὼνfromἀπὸJudeaτῆς ἸουδαίαςtoεἰςCaesarea,Καισάρειανhe stayed there.διέτριβεν
Nowδὲhe wasἮνfuriousθυμομαχῶνwith the people of TyreΤυρίοιςandκαὶSidon;Σιδωνίοιςandδὲwith one mindὁμοθυμαδὸνthey cameπαρῆσανtoπρὸςhim,αὐτόνandκαὶhaving won overπείσαντεςBlastus,Βλάστονthe king’sτοῦ βασιλέωςchamberlain,τὸν ἐπὶ τοῦ κοιτῶνοςthey were asking forᾐτοῦντοpeace,εἰρήνηνbecauseδιὰ τὸtheirαὐτῶνcountryτὴν χώρανwas fedτρέφεσθαιfromἀπὸthe king’s country.τῆς βασιλικῆς
Andδὲon an appointedτακτῇdayἡμέρᾳHerod,ὁ Ἡρῴδηςhaving put onἐνδυσάμενοςroyalβασιλικὴνclothingἐσθῆταandκαὶtaking his seatκαθίσαςonἐπὶthe tribunal,τοῦ βήματοςwas delivering a public addressἐδημηγόρειtoπρὸςthem.αὐτούς
Andδὲthe peopleὁ δῆμοςkept shouting,ἐπεφώνει“The voiceφωνὴof a godΘεοῦandκαὶnotοὐκof a man.”ἀνθρώπου
Andδὲimmediatelyπαραχρῆμαan angelἄγγελοςof the Lordκυρίουstruckἐπάταξενhim,αὐτὸνbecauseἀνθ’ ὧνhe did notοὐκgiveἔδωκενthe gloryτὴν δόξανto God;τῷ θεῷandκαὶbecomingγενόμενοςeaten by worms,σκωληκόβρωτοςhe breathed his last.ἐξέψυξεν
Butδὲthe wordὉ λόγοςof Godτοῦ θεοῦkept growingηὔξανενandκαὶmultiplying.ἐπληθύνετο
