And it shall be,וְהָיָהwhenכִּיyou comeתָבוֹאintoאֶלthe landהָאָרֶץthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָis givingנֹתֵןyouלְךָas an inheritance,נַחֲלָהand you possess itוִירִשְׁתָּהּand liveוְיָשַׁבְתָּin it,בָּהּ
that you shall takeוְלָקַחְתָּsome of the firstמֵרֵאשִׁיתof allכָּלthe fruitפְּרִיof the groundהָאֲדָמָהthatאֲשֶׁרyou bringתָּבִיאfrom your landמֵאַרְצְךָthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָis givingנֹתֵןyou,לָךְand you shall put itוְשַׂמְתָּin the basketבַטֶּנֶאand goוְהָלַכְתָּtoאֶלthe placeהַמָּקוֹםthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָchoosesיִבְחַרto makeלְשַׁכֵּןhis nameשְׁמוֹdwellשַׁכֵּןthere.שָׁם
And you shall comeוּבָאתָtoאֶלthe priestהַכֹּהֵןwhoאֲשֶׁרisיִהְיֶהin office in thoseבַּ הָהֵםdaysיָּמִיםand sayוְאָמַרְתָּto him,אֵלָיו“I declareהִגַּדְתִּיtodayהַיּוֹםto YHWHלַיהוָהyour ElohimאֱלֹהֶיךָthatכִּיI have comeבָאתִיintoאֶלthe landהָאָרֶץthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהsworeנִשְׁבַּעto our fathersלַאֲבֹתֵינוּto giveלָתֶתus.”לָנוּ
And the priestוְ הַכֹּהֵןshall takeלָקַחthe basketהַטֶּנֶאfrom your handמִיָּדֶךָand set it downוְהִנִּיחוֹbeforeלִפְנֵיthe altarמִזְבַּחof YHWHיְהוָהyour Elohim.אֱלֹהֶיךָ
And you shall answerוְעָנִיתָand sayוְאָמַרְתָּbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohim,אֱלֹהֶיךָ“A wanderingאֹבֵדArameanאֲרַמִּיwasmy father;אָבִיand he went downוַיֵּרֶדto Egyptמִצְרַיְמָהand lived there as a foreigner,וַיָּגָר שָׁםwith fewמְעָטmen,בִּמְתֵיand thereוַ שָׁםhe becameיְהִיa great,לְ גָּדוֹלmighty,עָצוּםand numerousוָרָבnation.גוֹי
And the Egyptiansוַ הַמִּצְרִיםtreated us badlyיָּרֵעוּ אֹתָנוּand afflicted usוַיְעַנּוּנוּand laidוַיִּתְּנוּon usעָלֵינוּhardקָשָׁהbondage.עֲבֹדָה
And we cried outוַנִּצְעַקtoאֶלYHWH,יְהוָהthe Elohimאֱלֹהֵיof our fathers,אֲבֹתֵינוּand YHWHוַ יְהוָהheardיִּשְׁמַעour voiceקֹלֵנוּand sawוַיַּרְאour afflictionעָנְיֵנוּand our toilוְ עֲמָלֵנוּand our oppression.וְ לַחֲצֵנוּ
And YHWHוַ יְהוָהbrought us outיּוֹצִאֵנוּof Egyptמִמִּצְרַיִםwith a strongבְּ חֲזָקָהhandיָדand with an outstretchedוּבִ נְטוּיָהarmזְרֹעַand with greatוּבְ גָּדֹלterrorמֹרָאand with signsוּבְאֹתוֹתand with wonders.וּבְמֹפְתִים
And he brought usוַיְבִאֵנוּtoאֶלthisהַזֶּהplaceהַמָּקוֹםand gaveוַיִּתֶּןusלָנוּthisהַזֹּאתland,הָאָרֶץa landאֶרֶץflowingזָבַתwith milkחָלָבand honey.וּדְבָשׁ
And now,וְעַתָּהlook,הִנֵּהI have broughtהֵבֵאתִיthe firstרֵאשִׁיתof the fruitפְּרִיof the groundהָאֲדָמָהthatאֲשֶׁרyou have givenנָתַתָּהme,לִּיYHWH.”יְהוָהAnd you shall set it downוְהִנַּחְתּוֹbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָand bow downוְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתָbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohim.אֱלֹהֶיךָ
And you shall rejoiceוְשָׂמַחְתָּin allבְכָלthe goodהַטּוֹבthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָhas givenנָתַןto youלְךָand to your house,וּלְבֵיתֶךָyouאַתָּהand the Leviteוְהַלֵּוִיand the resident alienוְהַגֵּרwho isאֲשֶׁרin your midst.בְּקִרְבֶּךָ
Whenכִּיyou have finishedתְכַלֶּהtithingלַעְשֵׂרallכָּלthe titheמַעְשַׂרof your produceתְּבוּאָתְךָin the thirdבַּ הַשְּׁלִישִׁתyear,שָּׁנָהthe yearשְׁנַתof the tithe,הַמַּעֲשֵׂרand have given itוְנָתַתָּהto the Levite,לַלֵּוִיto the resident alien,לַגֵּרto the orphan,לַיָּתוֹםand to the widow,וְלָאַלְמָנָהso that they may eatוְאָכְלוּwithin your gatesבִשְׁעָרֶיךָand be satisfied,וְשָׂבֵעוּ
then you shall sayוְאָמַרְתָּbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohim,אֱלֹהֶיךָ“I have removedבִּעַרְתִּיthe holy portionהַקֹּדֶשׁfromמִןthe house,הַבַּיִתandוְI have alsoגַםgiven itנְתַתִּיוto the Leviteלַלֵּוִיand to the resident alien,וְלַגֵּרto the orphan,לַיָּתוֹםand to the widow,וְלָאַלְמָנָהaccording toכְּallכָלyour commandmentמִצְוָתְךָthatאֲשֶׁרyou commanded me.צִוִּיתָנִיI have notלֹאtransgressed anyעָבַרְתִּיof your commandments,מִמִּצְוֺתֶיךָnorוְלֹאhave I forgotten.שָׁכָחְתִּי
I have notלֹאeatenאָכַלְתִּיof itמִמֶּנּוּin my mourning,בְאֹנִיnorוְלֹאhave I removedבִעַרְתִּיany of itמִמֶּנּוּwhile unclean,בְּטָמֵאnorוְלֹאhave I givenנָתַתִּיany of itמִמֶּנּוּfor the dead.לְמֵתI have listenedשָׁמַעְתִּיto the voiceבְּקוֹלof YHWHיְהוָהmy Elohim;אֱלֹהָיI have doneעָשִׂיתִיaccording toכְּallכֹלthatאֲשֶׁרyou commanded me.צִוִּיתָנִי
Look downהַשְׁקִיפָהfrom your holyקָדְשְׁךָdwelling,מִמְּעוֹןfromמִןthe heavens,הַשָּׁמַיִםand blessוּבָרֵךְyour peopleעַמְּךָIsraelיִשְׂרָאֵלand the groundוְ הָאֲדָמָהthatאֲשֶׁרyou have givenנָתַתָּהus,לָנוּasכַּאֲשֶׁרyou sworeנִשְׁבַּעְתָּto our fathers,לַאֲבֹתֵינוּa landאֶרֶץflowingזָבַתwith milkחָלָבand honey.”וּדְבָשׁ
ThisהַזֶּהdayהַיּוֹםYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָcommands youמְצַוְּךָto doלַעֲשׂוֹתtheseהָאֵלֶּהstatutesהַחֻקִּיםand the rules;וְ הַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםso you shall keepוְשָׁמַרְתָּand doוְעָשִׂיתָthemאוֹתָםwith allבְּכָלyour heartלְבָבְךָand with allוּבְכָלyour soul.נַפְשֶׁךָ
You have declaredהֶאֱמַרְתָּtodayהַיּוֹםthat YHWHיְהוָהwill beלִהְיוֹתyourלְךָElohim,לֵאלֹהִיםand that you will walkוְלָלֶכֶתin his waysבִּדְרָכָיוand keepוְלִשְׁמֹרhis statutesחֻקָּיוand his commandmentsוּמִצְוֺתָיוand his rulesוּמִשְׁפָּטָיוand listenוְלִשְׁמֹעַto his voice.בְּקֹלוֹ
And YHWHוַיהוָהhas declared youהֶאֱמִירְךָtodayהַיּוֹםto beלִהְיוֹתhisלוֹpeople,לְעַםhis special treasure,סְגֻלָּהasכַּאֲשֶׁרhe toldדִּבֶּרyou,לָךְand that you are to keepוְלִשְׁמֹרallכָּלhis commandments,מִצְוֺתָיו
and to set youוּלְתִתְּךָhighעֶלְיוֹןaboveעַלallכָּלthe nationsהַגּוֹיִםthatאֲשֶׁרhe has made,עָשָׂהfor praiseלִתְהִלָּהand for renownוּלְשֵׁםand for beauty,וּלְתִפְאָרֶתand that you will beוְלִהְיֹתְךָa holyקָדֹשׁpeopleעַםto YHWHלַיהוָהyour Elohim,אֱלֹהֶיךָasכַּאֲשֶׁרhe has spoken.דִּבֵּר
