And it happened,וַיְהִיwhenכִּיhuman beingsהָאָדָםbeganהֵחֵלto multiplyלָרֹבonעַלthe faceפְּנֵיof the ground,הָאֲדָמָהand daughtersוּבָנוֹתwere bornיֻלְּדוּto them,לָהֶם
that the sonsוַ בְנֵיof Elohimהָאֱלֹהִיםsawיִּרְאוּthatכִּיthe daughtersאֶת בְּנוֹתof human beingsהָאָדָםwereהֵנָּהbeautiful;טֹבֹתand they tookוַיִּקְחוּfor themselvesלָהֶםwivesנָשִׁיםfrom allמִכֹּלwhomאֲשֶׁרthey chose.בָּחָרוּ
AndוַYHWHיְהוָהsaid,יֹּאמֶר“My spiritרוּחִיwill notלֹאremainיָדוֹןin the human beingבָאָדָםforever,לְעֹלָםforבְּשַׁheהוּאalsoגַּםisflesh;בָשָׂרandוְhis daysיָמָיוwill beהָיוּa hundredמֵאָהandוְtwentyעֶשְׂרִיםyears.”שָׁנָה
The Nephilimהַנְּפִלִיםwereהָיוּon the earthבָאָרֶץin thoseהָהֵםdays,בַּיָּמִיםand alsoוְגַםafterward,אַחֲרֵי כֵןwhenאֲשֶׁרthe sonsבְּנֵיof Elohimהָאֱלֹהִיםwent inיָבֹאוּto the daughtersאֶל בְּנוֹתof human beingsהָאָדָםand they boreוְיָלְדוּchildrento them;לָהֶםtheyהֵמָּהwerethe mighty menהַגִּבֹּרִיםwhoאֲשֶׁרwereof old,מֵעוֹלָםmenאַנְשֵׁיof renown.הַשֵּׁם
AndוַYHWHיְהוָהsawיַּרְאthatכִּיthe wickednessרָעַתof the human beingהָאָדָםwas greatרַבָּהon the earth,בָּאָרֶץand that everyוְכָלinclinationיֵצֶרof the thoughtsמַחְשְׁבֹתof his heartלִבּוֹwasonlyרַקevilרַעallכָּלthe day.הַיּוֹם
AndוַYHWHיְהוָהwas sorryיִּנָּחֶםthatכִּיhe had madeעָשָׂהthe human beingאֶת הָאָדָםon the earth,בָּאָרֶץand he was grievedוַיִּתְעַצֵּבin his heart.אֶל לִבּוֹ
AndוַYHWHיְהוָהsaid,יֹּאמֶר“I will wipe outאֶמְחֶהthe human beingאֶת הָאָדָםwhomאֲשֶׁרI have createdבָּרָאתִיfrom the faceמֵעַל פְּנֵיof the ground,הָאֲדָמָהfrom human beingמֵאָדָםtoעַדlivestock,בְּהֵמָהtoעַדcreeping thingsרֶמֶשׂand toוְעַדthe birdsעוֹףof the sky,הַשָּׁמָיִםforכִּיI am sorryנִחַמְתִּיthatכִּיI made them.”עֲשִׂיתִם
ButוְNoahנֹחַfoundמָצָאfavorחֵןin the eyesבְּעֵינֵיof YHWH.יְהוָה
Theseאֵלֶּהarethe generationsתּוֹלְדֹתof Noah.נֹחַNoahנֹחַwasהָיָהa righteousצַדִּיקman,אִישׁblamelessתָּמִיםamong his contemporaries;בְּדֹרֹתָיוwith Elohimאֶת הָאֱלֹהִיםNoahנֹחַwalked.הִתְהַלֶּךְ
AndוַNoahנֹחַfatheredיּוֹלֶדthreeשְׁלֹשָׁהsons:בָנִיםShem,אֶת שֵׁםHam,אֶת חָםand Japheth.וְאֶת יָפֶת
Andוַthe earthהָאָרֶץwas corruptתִּשָּׁחֵתbeforeלִפְנֵיElohim,הָאֱלֹהִיםandוַthe earthהָאָרֶץwas filledתִּמָּלֵאwith violence.חָמָס
AndוַElohimאֱלֹהִיםsawיַּרְאthe earth,אֶת הָאָרֶץand look,וְהִנֵּהit was corrupt,נִשְׁחָתָהforכִּיallכָּלfleshבָּשָׂרhad corruptedהִשְׁחִיתits wayאֶת דַּרְכּוֹonעַלthe earth.הָאָרֶץ
AndוַElohimאֱלֹהִיםsaidיֹּאמֶרto Noah,לְנֹחַ“The endקֵץof allכָּלfleshבָּשָׂרhas comeבָּאbefore me,לְפָנַיforכִּיthe earthהָאָרֶץis filledמָלְאָהwith violenceחָמָסbecause of them;מִפְּנֵיהֶםand look,וְהִנְIנִיam going to destroyמַשְׁחִיתָthemםwith the earth.אֶת הָאָרֶץ
Makeעֲשֵׂהyourselfלְךָan arkתֵּבַתof gopherגֹפֶרwood;עֲצֵיwith compartmentsקִנִּיםyou shall makeתַּעֲשֶׂהthe ark,אֶת הַתֵּבָהandוְcoverכָפַרְתָּitאֹתָהּinsideמִבַּיִתand outsideוּמִחוּץwith pitch.בַּכֹּפֶר
And thisוְזֶהishowאֲשֶׁרyou shall makeתַּעֲשֶׂהit:אֹתָהּthe lengthאֹרֶךְof the arkהַתֵּבָהthree hundredשְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹתcubits,אַמָּהits widthרָחְבָּהּfiftyחֲמִשִּׁיםcubits,אַמָּהand its heightוּ קוֹמָתָהּthirtyשְׁלֹשִׁיםcubits.אַמָּה
An openingצֹהַרyou shall makeתַּעֲשֶׂהfor the ark,לַתֵּבָהandוְfinishתְּכַלֶitנָּהto a cubitאֶל אַמָּהfrom above;מִלְמַעְלָהand the doorוּפֶתַחof the arkהַתֵּבָהyou shall putתָּשִׂיםin its side;בְּצִדָּהּwithlower,תַּחְתִּיִּםsecond,שְׁנִיִּםand third decksוּשְׁלִשִׁיםyou shall makeתַּעֲשֶׂit.הָ
And I,וַאֲנִיlook,הִנְנִיI am bringingמֵבִיאthe floodאֶת הַמַּבּוּלof watersמַיִםonעַלthe earth,הָאָרֶץto destroyלְשַׁחֵתallכָּלfleshבָּשָׂרin whichאֲשֶׁר בּוֹisthe spiritרוּחַof life,חַיִּיםfrom underמִתַּחַתthe heavens;הַשָּׁמָיִםeverythingכֹּלthatאֲשֶׁרison the earthבָּאָרֶץwill perish.יִגְוָע
ButוַI will establishהֲקִמֹתִיmy covenantאֶת בְּרִיתִיwith you;אִתָּךְand you will comeוּבָאתָintoאֶלthe ark,הַתֵּבָהyouאַתָּהand your sonsוּבָנֶיךָand your wifeוְאִשְׁתְּךָand the wivesוּנְשֵׁיof your sonsבָנֶיךָwith you.אִתָּךְ
And of everyוּמִכָּלliving thing,הָחַיof allמִכָּלflesh,בָּשָׂרtwoשְׁנַיִםof every kindמִכֹּלyou shall bringתָּבִיאintoאֶלthe ark,הַתֵּבָהto keep them aliveלְהַחֲיֹתwith you;אִתָּךְthey shall beיִהְיוּmaleזָכָרand female.וּנְקֵבָה
Of the birdsמֵהָעוֹףaccording to their kind,לְמִינֵהוּand of the livestockוּמִן הַבְּהֵמָהaccording to their kind,לְמִינָהּof everyמִכֹּלcreeping thingרֶמֶשׂof the groundהָאֲדָמָהaccording to its kind,לְמִינֵהוּtwoשְׁנַיִםof every kindמִכֹּלwill comeיָבֹאוּto youאֵלֶיךָto be kept alive.לְהַחֲיוֹת
And you,וְאַתָּהtakeקַחfor yourselfלְךָof everyמִכָּלfoodמַאֲכָלthatאֲשֶׁרis eaten,יֵאָכֵלandוְgather itאָסַפְתָּto yourself;אֵלֶיךָand it will beוְהָיָהfor youלְךָand for themוְלָהֶםfor food.”לְאָכְלָה
AndוַNoahנֹחַdid so;יַּעַשׂaccording to allכְּכֹלthatאֲשֶׁרElohimאֱלֹהִיםcommandedצִוָּהhim,אֹתוֹsoכֵּןhe did.עָשָׂה
