You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָan altarמִזְבֵּחַfor burningמִקְטַרincense;קְטֹרֶתof acaciaשִׁטִּיםwoodעֲצֵיyou shall makeתַּעֲשֶׂהit.אֹתוֹ
A cubitאַמָּהits lengthאָרְכּוֹand a cubitוְאַמָּהits width;רָחְבּוֹit shall beיִהְיֶהsquare,רָבוּעַand two cubitsוְאַמָּתַיִםits height;קֹמָתוֹits hornsקַרְנֹתָיוshall be of one piece with it.מִמֶּנּוּ
You shall overlayוְצִפִּיתָitאֹתוֹwith pureטָהוֹרgold,זָהָבits topאֶת גַּגּוֹand its sidesוְאֶת קִירֹתָיוall aroundסָבִיבand its horns,וְאֶת קַרְנֹתָיוand you shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָfor itלּוֹa moldingזֵרof goldזָהָבall around.סָבִיב
And twoוּשְׁתֵּיringsטַבְּעֹתof goldזָהָבyou shall makeתַּעֲשֶׂהfor itלּוֹunderמִתַּחַתits molding;לְזֵרוֹonעַלits twoשְׁתֵּיsidesצַלְעֹתָיוyou shall make them,תַּעֲשֶׂהonעַלits twoשְׁנֵיsides,צִדָּיוand they shall beוְהָיָהholdersלְבָתִּיםfor polesלְבַדִּיםto carryלָשֵׂאתitאֹתוֹwith them.בָּהֵמָּה
You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָthe polesאֶת הַבַּדִּיםof acaciaשִׁטִּיםwoodעֲצֵיand overlayוְצִפִּיתָthemאֹתָםwith gold.זָהָב
You shall putוְנָתַתָּהitאֹתוֹin front ofלִפְנֵיthe veilהַפָּרֹכֶתthatאֲשֶׁרis byעַלthe arkאֲרֹןof the testimony,הָעֵדֻתin front ofלִפְנֵיthe cover of expiationהַכַּפֹּרֶתthatאֲשֶׁרis overעַלthe testimony,הָעֵדֻתwhereאֲשֶׁר שָׁמָּהI will meetאִוָּעֵדwith you.לְךָ
Aaronאַהֲרֹןshall offer up in smokeוְהִקְטִירon itעָלָיוfragrantסַמִּיםincense;קְטֹרֶתevery morning,בַּבֹּקֶר בַּבֹּקֶרwhen he tendsבְּהֵיטִיבוֹthe lamps,אֶת הַנֵּרֹתhe shall offer it up in smoke,יַקְטִירֶנָּה
and when Aaronוּבְ אַהֲרֹןlightsהַעֲלֹתthe lampsאֶת הַנֵּרֹתatבֵּיןtwilight,הָעֲרְבַּיִםhe shall offer it up in smoke,יַקְטִירֶנָּהa continualתָּמִידincenseקְטֹרֶתbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWHיְהוָהthroughout your generations.לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם
You shall not offerלֹא תַעֲלוּon itעָלָיוstrangeזָרָהincense,קְטֹרֶתor burnt offeringוְעֹלָהor grain offering,וּמִנְחָהand a libationוְנֵסֶךְyou shall not pourלֹא תִסְּכוּon it.עָלָיו
Aaronאַהֲרֹןshall make expiationוְכִפֶּרonעַלits hornsקַרְנֹתָיוonceאַחַתin the year;בַּשָּׁנָהwithמִthe bloodדַּםof the sin offeringחַטַּאתof expiationהַכִּפֻּרִיםonceאַחַתin the yearבַּשָּׁנָהhe shall make expiationיְכַפֵּרfor itעָלָיוthroughout your generations.לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶםItהוּאis mostקָדָשִׁיםholyקֹדֶשׁto YHWH.”לַיהוָה
YHWHיְהוָהspokeוַיְדַבֵּרtoאֶלMoses,מֹשֶׁהsaying,לֵּאמֹר
“Whenכִּיyou takeתִשָּׂאthe censusאֶת רֹאשׁof the sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלby their numbering,לִפְקֻדֵיהֶםeachוְ אִישׁshall giveנָתְנוּa compensationכֹּפֶרfor his lifeנַפְשׁוֹto YHWHלַיהוָהwhen they are numbered,בִּפְקֹד אֹתָםso that there will beוְ יִהְיֶהnoלֹאplagueנֶגֶףamong themבָהֶםwhen they are numbered.בִּפְקֹד אֹתָם
Thisזֶהthey shall give,יִתְּנוּeveryoneכָּל הָwho passes overעֹבֵרtoעַלthose numbered:הַפְּקֻדִיםhalfמַחֲצִיתa shekel,הַשֶּׁקֶלby the shekelבְּשֶׁקֶלof the sanctuaryהַקֹּדֶשׁ(the shekelהַשֶּׁקֶלis twentyעֶשְׂרִיםgerahs),גֵּרָהhalfמַחֲצִיתa shekelהַשֶּׁקֶלas a contributionתְּרוּמָהto YHWH.לַיהוָה
Everyoneכֹּלwho passes overהָעֹבֵרtoעַלthose numbered,הַפְּקֻדִיםfromמִtwentyעֶשְׂרִיםyears oldבֶּן שָׁנָהand upward,וָמָעְלָהshall giveיִתֵּןthe contributionתְּרוּמַתof YHWH.יְהוָה
The richהֶעָשִׁירshall not give more,לֹא יַרְבֶּהand the poorוְהַדַּלshall not give lessלֹא יַמְעִיטthanמִhalfמַּחֲצִיתa shekel,הַשָּׁקֶלwhen givingלָתֵתthe contributionאֶת תְּרוּמַתof YHWHיְהוָהto make expiationלְכַפֵּרforעַלyour lives.נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם
You shall takeוְלָקַחְתָּthe silverאֶת כֶּסֶףof expiationהַכִּפֻּרִיםfromמֵאֵתthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלand giveוְנָתַתָּitאֹתוֹforעַלthe serviceעֲבֹדַתof the tentאֹהֶלof meeting;מוֹעֵדand it shall beוְהָיָהfor the sonsלִבְנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלa memorialלְזִכָּרוֹןbeforeלִפְנֵיYHWH,יְהוָהto make expiationלְכַפֵּרforעַלyour lives.”נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם
YHWHיְהוָהspokeוַיְדַבֵּרtoאֶלMoses,מֹשֶׁהsaying,לֵּאמֹר
“You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָa basinכִּיּוֹרof bronze,נְחֹשֶׁתwith its standוְכַנּוֹof bronze,נְחֹשֶׁתfor washing,לְרָחְצָהand putוְנָתַתָּitאֹתוֹbetweenבֵּיןthe tentאֹהֶלof meetingמוֹעֵדandוּבֵיןthe altar,הַמִּזְבֵּחַand putוְנָתַתָּwaterמָיִםin it.שָׁמָּה
Aaronאַהֲרֹןand his sonsוּבָנָיוshall washוְרָחֲצוּfrom itמִמֶּנּוּtheir handsאֶת יְדֵיהֶםand their feet.וְאֶת רַגְלֵיהֶם
When they goבְּבֹאָםintoאֶלthe tentאֹהֶלof meeting,מוֹעֵדthey shall washיִרְחֲצוּwith waterמַיִםso that they will not die;וְלֹא יָמֻתוּorאוֹwhen they come nearבְגִשְׁתָּםtoאֶלthe altarהַמִּזְבֵּחַto minister,לְשָׁרֵתto offer up in smokeלְהַקְטִירa fire offeringאִשֶּׁהto YHWH,לַיהוָה
they shall washוְרָחֲצוּtheir handsיְדֵיהֶםand their feetוְרַגְלֵיהֶםso that they will not die;וְלֹא יָמֻתוּand it shall beוְהָיְתָהfor themלָהֶםa statuteחָקforever,עוֹלָםfor himלוֹand for his offspringוּלְזַרְעוֹthroughout their generations.”לְדֹרֹתָם
YHWHיְהוָהspokeוַיְדַבֵּרtoאֶלMoses,מֹשֶׁהsaying,לֵּאמֹר
“And you,וְאַתָּהtakeקַחfor yourselfלְךָthe finestרֹאשׁspices:בְּשָׂמִיםof liquidדְּרוֹרmyrrhמָרfiveחֲמֵשׁhundred,מֵאוֹתand of fragrantבֶּשֶׂםcinnamonוְקִנְּמָןhalf as much,מַחֲצִיתוֹtwo hundredוּמָאתָיִםand fifty,חֲמִשִּׁיםand of fragrantבֹשֶׂםcaneוּקְנֵהtwo hundredוּמָאתָיִםand fifty,חֲמִשִּׁים
and of cassiaוְקִדָּהfiveחֲמֵשׁhundred,מֵאוֹתby the shekelבְּשֶׁקֶלof the sanctuary,הַקֹּדֶשׁand of oliveזַיִתoilוְשֶׁמֶןa hin.הִין
You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָof itאֹתוֹa holyקֹדֶשׁanointingמִשְׁחַתoil,שֶׁמֶןa blendedמִרְקַחַתmixture,רֹקַחthe workמַעֲשֵׂהof a perfumer;רֹקֵחַa holyקֹדֶשׁanointingמִשְׁחַתoilשֶׁמֶןit shall be.יִהְיֶה
With it you shall anointוּמָשַׁחְתָּ בוֹthe tentאֶת אֹהֶלof meetingמוֹעֵדand the arkוְאֵת אֲרוֹןof the testimony,הָעֵדֻת
the tableוְאֶת הַשֻּׁלְחָןand allוְאֶת כָּלits utensils,כֵּלָיוthe lampstandוְאֶת הַמְּנֹרָהand its utensils,וְאֶת כֵּלֶיהָthe altarוְאֵת מִזְבַּחof incense,הַקְּטֹרֶת
the altarוְאֶת מִזְבַּחof burnt offeringהָעֹלָהand allוְאֶת כָּלits utensils,כֵּלָיוand the basinוְאֶת הַכִּיֹּרand its stand.וְאֶת כַּנּוֹ
You shall consecrateוְקִדַּשְׁתָּthem,אֹתָםand they shall beוְהָיוּmostקָדָשִׁיםholy;קֹדֶשׁwhateverכָּל הַtouchesנֹּגֵעַthemבָּהֶםshall become holy.יִקְדָּשׁ
Aaronוְאֶת אַהֲרֹןand his sonsוְאֶת בָּנָיוyou shall anointתִּמְשָׁחand consecrateוְקִדַּשְׁתָּthemאֹתָםto serve as priestsלְכַהֵןfor me.לִי
And toוְאֶלthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלyou shall speak,תְּדַבֵּרsaying,לֵאמֹר‘Thisזֶהshall beיִהְיֶהa holyקֹדֶשׁanointingמִשְׁחַתoilשֶׁמֶןfor meלִיthroughout your generations.לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם
Onעַלthe fleshבְּשַׂרof a human beingאָדָםit shall not be poured,לֹא יִיסָךְand with its formulaוּבְמַתְכֻּנְתּוֹyou shall not make anyלֹא תַעֲשׂוּlike it;כָּמֹהוּitהוּאis holy;קֹדֶשׁholyקֹדֶשׁit shall beיִהְיֶהto you.לָכֶם
Whoeverאִישׁ אֲשֶׁרblendsיִרְקַחany like it,כָּמֹהוּor whoeverוַאֲשֶׁרputsיִתֵּןsome of itמִמֶּנּוּonעַלa stranger,זָרshall be cut offוְנִכְרַתfrom his people.’”מֵעַמָּיו
YHWHיְהוָהsaidוַיֹּאמֶרtoאֶלMoses,מֹשֶׁה“Takeקַחfor yourselfלְךָfragrant spices:סַמִּיםresin,נָטָףonycha,וּשְׁחֵלֶתand galbanum,וְחֶלְבְּנָהfragrant spicesסַמִּיםwith pureוּ זַכָּהfrankincense;לְבֹנָהin equal partsבַּד בְּבַדit shall be.יִהְיֶה
You shall makeוְעָשִׂיתָof itאֹתָהּincense,קְטֹרֶתa blend,רֹקַחthe workמַעֲשֵׂהof a perfumer,רוֹקֵחַsalted,מְמֻלָּחpure,טָהוֹרholy.קֹדֶשׁ
You shall grindוְשָׁחַקְתָּsome of itמִמֶּנָּהvery fineהָדֵקand putוְנָתַתָּהsome of itמִמֶּנָּהbeforeלִפְנֵיthe testimonyהָעֵדֻתin the tentבְּאֹהֶלof meeting,מוֹעֵדwhereאֲשֶׁר שָׁמָּהI will meetאִוָּעֵדwith you;לְךָmostקָדָשִׁיםholyקֹדֶשׁit shall beתִּהְיֶהto you.לָכֶם
And the incenseוְהַקְּטֹרֶתthatאֲשֶׁרyou shall make,תַּעֲשֶׂהwith its formulaבְּמַתְכֻּנְתָּהּyou shall not make anyלֹא תַעֲשׂוּfor yourselves;לָכֶםit shall beתִּהְיֶהholyקֹדֶשׁto youלְךָfor YHWH.לַיהוָה
Whoeverאִישׁ אֲשֶׁרmakesיַעֲשֶׂהany like itכָמוֹהָto smellלְהָרִיחַitבָּהּshall be cut offוְנִכְרַתfrom his people.”מֵעַמָּיו
