ButδὲI wantθέλωyouὑμᾶςto knowεἰδέναιthatὅτιthe headἡ κεφαλὴof everyπαντὸςmanἀνδρὸςisἐστινthe Messiah,ὁ Χριστόςandδὲthe headκεφαλὴof the womanγυναικὸςisthe man,ὁ ἀνήρandδὲthe headκεφαλὴof the Messiahτοῦ ΧριστοῦisGod.ὁ θεός
Everyπᾶςmanἀνὴρwho praysπροσευχόμενοςorἢprophesiesπροφητεύωνhaving somethingἔχωνdown overκατὰhis headκεφαλῆςdishonorsκαταισχύνειhis head.τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ
Butδὲeveryπᾶσαwomanγυνὴwho praysπροσευχομένηorἢprophesiesπροφητεύουσαwith her headτῇ κεφαλῇuncoveredἀκατακαλύπτῳdishonorsκαταισχύνειher head;τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτῆςforγάρit isἐστινoneἓνandκαὶthe same thingτὸ αὐτὸas the womanτῇwho has been shaved.ἐξυρημένῃ
Forγὰρifεἰa womanγυνήis notοὐcovered,κατακαλύπτεταιlet her alsoκαὶhave her hair cut short;κειράσθωbutδὲifεἰit isshamefulαἰσχρὸνfor a womanγυναικὶto have her hair cut shortτὸ κείρασθαιorἢto be shaved,ξυρᾶσθαιlet her be covered.κατακαλυπτέσθω
Forγὰρa manἀνὴρ μὲνoughtὀφείλειnotοὐκto coverκατακαλύπτεσθαιhis head,τὴν κεφαλήνsince he isὑπάρχωνthe imageεἰκὼνandκαὶgloryδόξαof God;θεοῦbutδὲthe womanἡ γυνὴisἐστινthe gloryδόξαof man.ἀνδρός
Forγάρmanἀνὴρisἐστινnotοὐfromἐκwoman,γυναικόςbutἀλλὰwomanγυνὴfromἐξman;ἀνδρός
for indeedκαὶ γὰρmanἀνὴρwas notοὐκcreatedἐκτίσθηfor the sake ofδιὰthe woman,τὴν γυναῖκαbutἀλλὰwomanγυνὴfor the sake ofδιὰthe man.τὸν ἄνδρα
For this reasonδιὰ τοῦτοthe womanἡ γυνὴoughtὀφείλειto haveἔχεινauthorityἐξουσίανonἐπὶher head,τῆς κεφαλῆςbecause ofδιὰthe angels.τοὺς ἀγγέλους
Nevertheless,πλὴνneither isοὔτεwomanγυνὴwithoutχωρὶςmanἀνδρὸςnorοὔτεmanἀνὴρwithoutχωρὶςwomanγυναικὸςinἐνthe Lord;κυρίῳ
forγὰρjust asὥσπερthe womanἡ γυνὴisfromἐκthe man,τοῦ ἀνδρόςsoοὕτωςalsoκαὶthe manὁ ἀνὴρisthroughδιὰthe woman;τῆς γυναικόςbutδὲall thingsτὰ πάνταarefromἐκGod.τοῦ θεοῦ
Judgeκρίνατεamongἐνyourselves:ὑμῖν αὐτοῖςis itἐστὶνfittingπρέπονfor a womanγυναῖκαto prayπροσεύχεσθαιto Godτῷ θεῷuncovered?ἀκατακάλυπτον
Does not evenοὐδὲnatureἡ φύσιςitselfαὐτὴteachδιδάσκειyouὑμᾶςthatὅτιifἐὰνa manἀνὴρ μὲνhas long hair,κομᾷit isἐστινa dishonorἀτιμίαto him,αὐτῷ
butδὲifἐὰνa womanγυνὴhas long hair,κομᾷit isἐστινa gloryδόξαto her?αὐτῇForὅτιher hairἡ κόμηhas been givenδέδοταιto herinstead ofἀντὶa covering.περιβολαίου
Butδέifεἰanyoneτιςis inclinedδοκεῖto beεἶναιcontentious,φιλόνεικοςweἡμεῖςdo notοὐκhaveἔχομενsuchτοιαύτηνa custom,συνήθειανnor doοὐδὲthe assembliesαἱ ἐκκλησίαιof God.τοῦ θεοῦ
Butδὲin giving this instructionΤοῦτο παραγγέλλωνI do notοὐκpraise you,ἐπαινῶbecauseὅτιyou come togetherσυνέρχεσθεnotοὐκforεἰςthe betterτὸ κρεῖσσονbutἀλλὰforεἰςthe worse.τὸ ἧσσον
Forγὰρfirst of all,πρῶτον μὲνwhen youὑμῶνcome togetherσυνερχομένωνinἐνassembly,ἐκκλησίᾳI hearἀκούωthat there areὑπάρχεινdivisionsσχίσματαamongἐνyou,ὑμῖνandκαὶin partμέρος τιI believe it.πιστεύω
Forγὰρthere mustδεῖalsoκαὶbeεἶναιfactionsαἱρέσειςamongἐνyou,ὑμῖνso thatἵναthose who are approvedοἱ δόκιμοιmay alsoκαὶbecomeγένωνταιevidentφανεροὶamongἐνyou.ὑμῖν
Soοὖνwhen youὑμῶνcome togetherσυνερχομένωνin the same place,ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸit isἔστινnotοὐκto eatφαγεῖνthe Lord’sκυριακὸνsupper,δεῖπνον
forγὰρinἐνeating,τῷ φαγεῖνeach oneἕκαστοςgoes ahead withπρολαμβάνειhis ownτὸ ἴδιονsupper,δεῖπνονandκαὶoneὃς μὲνis hungryπεινᾷand anotherὃς δὲgets drunk.μεθύει
Forγὰρit is notμὴthat you do notοὐκhaveἔχετεhousesοἰκίαςin whichεἰς τὸto eatἐσθίεινandκαὶdrink,πίνεινis it?Orἢdo you despiseκαταφρονεῖτεthe assemblyτῆς ἐκκλησίαςof Godτοῦ θεοῦandκαὶhumiliateκαταισχύνετεthose whoτοὺςhave nothing?μὴ ἔχονταςWhatτίshould I sayεἴπωto you?ὑμῖνShould I praiseἐπαινέσωyou?ὑμᾶςInἐνthisτούτῳI do notοὐκpraise you.ἐπαινῶ
ForγὰρIἘγὼreceivedπαρέλαβονfromἀπὸthe Lordτοῦ κυρίουwhatὃI alsoκαὶhanded onπαρέδωκαto you,ὑμῖνthatὅτιthe Lordὁ κύριοςJesus,Ἰησοῦςonἐνthe nightτῇ νυκτὶin whichᾗhe was being handed over,παρεδίδετοtookἔλαβενbread,ἄρτον
andκαὶafter giving thanksεὐχαριστήσαςhe broke itἔκλασενandκαὶsaid,εἶπενThisΤοῦτόisἐστινmyμούbody,τὸ σῶμαwhichτὸisforὑπὲρyou;ὑμῶνdoποιεῖτεthisτοῦτοinεἰςremembrance of me.τὴν ἐμὴν ἀνάμνησιν
In the same wayὡσαύτωςhe tookalsoκαὶthe cup,τὸ ποτήριονafterμετὰsupper,τὸ δειπνῆσαιsaying,λέγωνThisΤοῦτοcupτὸ ποτήριονisἐστὶνthe newἡ καινὴcovenantδιαθήκηinἐνmyτῷ ἐμῷblood;αἵματιdoποιεῖτεthis,τοῦτοas often asὁσάκις ἐὰνyou drink it,πίνητεinεἰςremembrance of me.τὴν ἐμὴν ἀνάμνησιν
Forγὰρas often asὁσάκις ἐὰνyou eatἐσθίητεthisτοῦτονbreadτὸν ἄρτονandκαὶdrinkπίνητεthe cup,τὸ ποτήριονyou proclaimκαταγγέλλετεthe deathτὸν θάνατονof the Lordτοῦ κυρίουuntilἄχρι οὗhe comes.ἔλθῃ
So then,Ὥστεwhoeverὃς ἂνeatsἐσθίῃthe breadτὸν ἄρτονorἢdrinksπίνῃthe cupτὸ ποτήριονof the Lordτοῦ κυρίουunworthilyἀναξίωςwill beἔσταιguiltyἔνοχοςof the bodyτοῦ σώματοςandκαὶthe bloodτοῦ αἵματοςof the Lord.τοῦ κυρίου
Butδὲlet a personἄνθρωποςexamineδοκιμαζέτωhimself,ἑαυτόνandκαὶsoοὕτωςlet him eatἐσθιέτωofἐκthe breadτοῦ ἄρτουandκαὶdrinkπινέτωofἐκthe cup.τοῦ ποτηρίου
Forγὰρthe one whoὁeatsἐσθίωνandκαὶdrinksπίνωνeatsἐσθίειandκαὶdrinksπίνειjudgmentκρίμαon himselfἑαυτῷif he does notμὴdiscernδιακρίνωνthe body.τὸ σῶμα
For this reasonδιὰ τοῦτοmanyπολλοὶamongἐνyouὑμῖνareweakἀσθενεῖςandκαὶsick,ἄρρωστοιandκαὶa good numberἱκανοίsleep.κοιμῶνται
Butδὲifεἰwe discernedδιεκρίνομενourselves,ἑαυτοὺςwe would notοὐκ ἂνbe judged.ἐκρινόμεθα
Butδὲwhen we are judgedκρινόμενοιbyὑπὸthe Lord,κυρίουwe are being disciplined,παιδευόμεθαso thatἵναwe may notμὴbe condemnedκατακριθῶμενalong withσὺνthe world.τῷ κόσμῳ
So then,Ὥστεmy brothers,ἀδελφοί μουwhen you come togetherσυνερχόμενοιtoεἰς τὸeat,φαγεῖνwait forἐκδέχεσθεone another.ἀλλήλους
Ifεἴanyoneτιςis hungry,πεινᾷlet him eatἐσθιέτωatἐνhome,οἴκῳso thatἵναyou may notμὴcome togetherσυνέρχησθεforεἰςjudgment.κρίμαAndδὲthe restΤὰ λοιπὰI will set in orderδιατάξομαιwheneverὡς ἂνI come.ἔλθω
