AndδὲPaulΠαῦλοςsaid,εἶπεν“JohnἸωάννηςimmersedἐβάπτισενwithan immersionβάπτισμαof change of mind,μετανοίαςtellingλέγωνthe peopleτῷ λαῷthatἵναthey should believeπιστεύσωσινinεἰςthe one comingτὸν ἐρχόμενονafterμετ’him,αὐτὸνthat is,τοῦτ’ ἔστινinεἰςJesus.”τὸν Ἰησοῦν

Butδὲthe evilτὸ πονηρὸνspiritτὸ πνεῦμαansweredἀποκριθὲνandsaidεἶπενto them,αὐτοῖς“I knowγινώσκωJesus,Τὸν ἸησοῦνandκαὶI am acquainted withἐπίσταμαιPaul,τὸν Παῦλονbutδὲwhoτίνεςareἐστέyou?”ὑμεῖς

Andτεmanyπολλοίof those who had believedτῶν πεπιστευκότωνwere coming,ἤρχοντοconfessingἐξομολογούμενοιandκαὶdisclosingἀναγγέλλοντεςtheirαὐτῶνpractices.τὰς πράξεις
Andδὲa numberἱκανοὶof those who had practicedτῶν πραξάντωνmagicτὰ περίεργαbrought togetherσυνενέγκαντεςtheir booksτὰς βίβλουςandwere burning themκατέκαιονbeforeἐνώπιονeveryone;πάντωνandκαὶthey counted upσυνεψήφισανtheirαὐτῶνvalueτὰς τιμὰςandκαὶfound it to beεὗρονfifty thousandμυριάδας πέντεpiecesof silver.ἀργυρίου

He gatheredσυναθροίσαςtheseοὓςtogether withκαὶthe workersτοὺς ἐργάταςinπερὶsimilar tradesτὰ τοιαῦταandsaid,εἶπεν“Men,Ἄνδρεςyou knowἐπίστασθεthatὅτιfromἐκthisταύτηςbusinessτῆς ἐργασίαςwe haveἡμῖν ἐστινour prosperity.ἡ εὐπορία
