You shall loveוְאָהַבְתָּYHWHאֵת יְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָand keepוְשָׁמַרְתָּhis charge,מִשְׁמַרְתּוֹhis statutes,וְחֻקֹּתָיוhis rules,וּמִשְׁפָּטָיוand his commandments,וּמִצְוֺתָיוallכָּלthe days.הַיָּמִים
Knowוִידַעְתֶּםtodayהַיּוֹם—forכִּיI am not speaking withלֹא אֶתyour children,בְּנֵיכֶםwhoאֲשֶׁרhave notלֹאknownיָדְעוּand whoוַאֲשֶׁרhave notלֹאseen—רָאוּthe disciplineאֶת מוּסַרof YHWHיְהוָהyour Elohim,אֱלֹהֵיכֶםhis greatness,אֶת גָּדְלוֹhis strongהַחֲזָקָהhand,אֶת יָדוֹand his outstretchedוּ הַנְּטוּיָהarm,זְרֹעוֹ
his signsוְאֶת אֹתֹתָיוand his worksוְאֶת מַעֲשָׂיוthatאֲשֶׁרhe didעָשָׂהin the midstבְּתוֹךְof Egyptמִצְרָיִםto Pharaohלְפַרְעֹהkingמֶלֶךְof Egyptמִצְרַיִםand to allוּלְכָלhis land;אַרְצוֹ
and whatוַאֲשֶׁרhe didעָשָׂהto the armyלְחֵילof Egypt,מִצְרַיִםto its horsesלְסוּסָיוand to its chariots,וּלְרִכְבּוֹhowאֲשֶׁרhe madeהֵצִיףthe watersאֶת מֵיof the Seaיַםof Reedsסוּףflowהֵצִיףover their facesעַל פְּנֵיהֶםwhen they pursuedבְּרָדְפָםyou,אַחֲרֵיכֶםand YHWHוַ יְהוָהmade them perishיְאַבְּדֵםtoעַדthisהַזֶּהday;הַיּוֹם
and whatוַאֲשֶׁרhe didעָשָׂהfor youלָכֶםin the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּרuntilעַדyou cameבֹּאֲכֶםtoעַדthisהַזֶּהplace;הַמָּקוֹם
and whatוַאֲשֶׁרhe didעָשָׂהto Dathanלְדָתָןand Abiram,וְלַאֲבִירָםthe sonsבְּנֵיof Eliab,אֱלִיאָבsonבֶּןof Reuben,רְאוּבֵןwhenאֲשֶׁרthe earthהָאָרֶץopenedפָּצְתָהits mouthאֶת פִּיהָand swallowed themוַתִּבְלָעֵםand their housesוְאֶת בָּתֵּיהֶםand their tentsוְאֶת אָהֳלֵיהֶםand allוְאֵת כָּלthatאֲשֶׁרexistedהַיְקוּםat their feet,בְּרַגְלֵיהֶםin the midstבְּקֶרֶבof allכָּלIsrael.יִשְׂרָאֵל
Forכִּיyour eyesעֵינֵיכֶםare the ones that have seenהָרֹאֹתallאֶת כָּלthe greatהַגָּדֹלworkמַעֲשֵׂהof YHWHיְהוָהthatאֲשֶׁרhe did.עָשָׂה
So keepוּשְׁמַרְתֶּםallאֶת כָּלthe commandmentהַמִּצְוָהthatאֲשֶׁרIאָנֹכִיam commanding youמְצַוְּךָtoday,הַיּוֹםso thatלְמַעַןyou may be strongתֶּחֶזְקוּand go inוּבָאתֶםand take possession ofוִירִשְׁתֶּםthe landאֶת הָאָרֶץinto whichאֲשֶׁר שָׁמָּהyouאַתֶּםare crossingעֹבְרִיםto take possession of it,לְרִשְׁתָּהּ
and so thatוּלְמַעַןyou may prolongתַּאֲרִיכוּyour daysיָמִיםonעַלthe landהָאֲדָמָהthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהsworeנִשְׁבַּעto your fathersלַאֲבֹתֵיכֶםto giveלָתֵתto themלָהֶםand to their offspring,וּלְזַרְעָםa landאֶרֶץflowingזָבַתwith milkחָלָבand honey.וּדְבָשׁ
Forכִּיthe landהָאָרֶץinto whichאֲשֶׁר שָׁמָּהyouאַתָּהare goingבָאto take possession of itלְרִשְׁתָּהּis notלֹא הִואlike the landכְאֶרֶץof Egypt,מִצְרַיִםfrom whichאֲשֶׁר מִשָּׁםyou came out,יְצָאתֶםwhereאֲשֶׁרyou would sowתִּזְרַעyour seedאֶת זַרְעֲךָand water itוְהִשְׁקִיתָwith your foot,בְרַגְלְךָlike a gardenכְּגַןof vegetables.הַיָּרָק
But the landוְהָאָרֶץinto whichאֲשֶׁר שָׁמָּהyouאַתֶּםare crossingעֹבְרִיםto take possession of itלְרִשְׁתָּהּis a landאֶרֶץof mountainsהָרִיםand plains;וּבְקָעֹתit drinksתִּשְׁתֶּהwaterמָּיִםfrom the rainלִמְטַרof the heavens,הַשָּׁמַיִם
a landאֶרֶץthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָcares for;דֹּרֵשׁ אֹתָהּthe eyesעֵינֵיof YHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָare alwaysתָּמִידon it,בָּהּfrom the beginningמֵרֵשִׁיתof the yearהַשָּׁנָהtoוְעַדthe endאַחֲרִיתof the year.שָׁנָה
And it will be,וְהָיָהifאִםyou truly listenשָׁמֹעַ תִּשְׁמְעוּtoאֶלmy commandmentsמִצְוֺתַיthatאֲשֶׁרIאָנֹכִיam commandingמְצַוֶּהyouאֶתְכֶםtoday,הַיּוֹםto loveלְאַהֲבָהYHWHאֶת יְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֵיכֶםand to serve himוּלְעָבְדוֹwith allבְּכָלyour heartלְבַבְכֶםand with allוּבְכָלyour soul,נַפְשְׁכֶם
that I will giveוְנָתַתִּיthe rainמְטַרof your landאַרְצְכֶםin its season,בְּעִתּוֹthe early rainיוֹרֶהand the late rain,וּמַלְקוֹשׁand you will gatherוְאָסַפְתָּyour grain,דְגָנֶךָyour new wine,וְתִירֹשְׁךָand your oil.וְיִצְהָרֶךָ
I will giveוְנָתַתִּיgrassעֵשֶׂבin your fieldבְּשָׂדְךָfor your livestock,לִבְהֶמְתֶּךָand you will eatוְאָכַלְתָּand be satisfied.וְשָׂבָעְתָּ
Guard yourselves,הִשָּׁמְרוּ לָכֶםlestפֶּןyour heartלְבַבְכֶםbe seducedיִפְתֶּהand you turn asideוְסַרְתֶּםand serveוַעֲבַדְתֶּםotherאֲחֵרִיםgodsאֱלֹהִיםand bow downוְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶםto them,לָהֶם
and the angerוְ אַףof YHWHיְהוָהbe kindledחָרָהagainst you,בָּכֶםand he shut upוְעָצַרthe heavensאֶת הַשָּׁמַיִםso that there isוְ יִהְיֶהnoלֹאrain,מָטָרand the groundוְהָאֲדָמָהdoes notלֹאyieldתִתֵּןits produce,אֶת יְבוּלָהּand you perishוַאֲבַדְתֶּםquicklyמְהֵרָהfromמֵעַלthe goodהַטֹּבָהlandהָאָרֶץthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהis givingנֹתֵןyou.לָכֶם
So you shall putוְשַׂמְתֶּםtheseאֵלֶּהwords of mineאֶת דְּבָרַיonעַלyour heartלְבַבְכֶםand onוְעַלyour soul,נַפְשְׁכֶםand bindוּקְשַׁרְתֶּםthemאֹתָםas a signלְאוֹתon your hand,עַל יֶדְכֶםand they shall beוְהָיוּas frontletsלְטוֹטָפֹתbetween your eyes.בֵּין עֵינֵיכֶם
You shall teachוְלִמַּדְתֶּםthemאֹתָםto your children,אֶת בְּנֵיכֶםspeakingלְדַבֵּרof themבָּםwhen you sitבְּשִׁבְתְּךָin your houseבְּבֵיתֶךָand when you walkוּבְלֶכְתְּךָby the way,בַדֶּרֶךְand when you lie downוּבְשָׁכְבְּךָand when you rise.וּבְקוּמֶךָ
You shall write themוּכְתַבְתָּםon the doorpostsעַל מְזוּזוֹתof your houseבֵּיתֶךָand on your gates,וּבִשְׁעָרֶיךָ
so thatלְמַעַןyour daysיְמֵיכֶםand the daysוִימֵיof your childrenבְנֵיכֶםmay be manyיִרְבּוּonעַלthe landהָאֲדָמָהthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהsworeנִשְׁבַּעto your fathersלַאֲבֹתֵיכֶםto giveלָתֵתthem,לָהֶםas the daysכִּימֵיof the heavensהַשָּׁמַיִםoverעַלthe earth.הָאָרֶץ
Forכִּיifאִםyou carefully keepשָׁמֹר תִּשְׁמְרוּןallאֶת כָּלthisהַזֹּאתcommandmentהַמִּצְוָהthatאֲשֶׁרIאָנֹכִיam commandingמְצַוֶּהyouאֶתְכֶםto do,לַעֲשֹׂתָהּlovingלְאַהֲבָהYHWHאֶת יְהוָהyour Elohim,אֱלֹהֵיכֶםwalkingלָלֶכֶתin allבְּכָלhis ways,דְּרָכָיוand clingingוּלְדָבְקָהto him,בוֹ
YHWHיְהוָהwill dispossessוְהוֹרִישׁallאֶת כָּלtheseהָאֵלֶּהnationsהַגּוֹיִםfrom before you,מִלִּפְנֵיכֶםand you will dispossessוִירִשְׁתֶּםnationsגּוֹיִםgreaterגְּדֹלִיםand mightierוַעֲצֻמִיםthan you.מִכֶּם
Everyכָּלplaceהַמָּקוֹםon whichאֲשֶׁר בּוֹthe soleכַּףof your footרַגְלְכֶםtreadsתִּדְרֹךְshall beיִהְיֶהyours:לָכֶםfromמִןthe wildernessהַמִּדְבָּרand Lebanon,וְהַלְּבָנוֹןfromמִןthe River,הַנָּהָרthe riverנְהַרEuphrates,פְּרָתtoוְעַדthe westernהָאַחֲרוֹןseaהַיָּםshall beיִהְיֶהyour territory.גְּבֻלְכֶם
Noלֹאmanאִישׁwill standיִתְיַצֵּבbefore you;בִּפְנֵיכֶםthe dread of youפַּחְדְּכֶםand the terror of youוּמוֹרַאֲכֶםYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֵיכֶםwill putיִתֵּןonעַלthe faceפְּנֵיof allכָלthe landהָאָרֶץon whichאֲשֶׁר בָהּyou tread,תִּדְרְכוּasכַּאֲשֶׁרhe has spokenדִּבֶּרto you.לָכֶם
See,רְאֵהIאָנֹכִיam settingנֹתֵןbefore youלִפְנֵיכֶםtodayהַיּוֹםa blessingבְּרָכָהand a curse:וּקְלָלָה
the blessing,אֶת הַבְּרָכָהifאֲשֶׁרyou listenתִּשְׁמְעוּtoאֶלthe commandmentsמִצְוֺתof YHWHיְהוָהyour ElohimאֱלֹהֵיכֶםthatאֲשֶׁרIאָנֹכִיam commandingמְצַוֶּהyouאֶתְכֶםtoday;הַיּוֹם
and the curse,וְהַקְּלָלָהifאִםyou do notלֹאlistenתִשְׁמְעוּtoאֶלthe commandmentsמִצְוֺתof YHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֵיכֶםand turn asideוְסַרְתֶּםfromמִןthe wayהַדֶּרֶךְthatאֲשֶׁרIאָנֹכִיam commandingמְצַוֶּהyouאֶתְכֶםtoday,הַיּוֹםto goלָלֶכֶתafterאַחֲרֵיotherאֲחֵרִיםgodsאֱלֹהִיםthatאֲשֶׁרyou have notלֹאknown.יְדַעְתֶּם
And whenוְהָיָה כִּיYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָbrings youיְבִיאֲךָintoאֶלthe landהָאָרֶץinto whichאֲשֶׁר שָׁמָּהyouאַתָּהare goingבָאto take possession of it,לְרִשְׁתָּהּyou shall setוְנָתַתָּהthe blessingאֶת הַבְּרָכָהonעַלMountהַרGerizimגְּרִזִיםand the curseוְאֶת הַקְּלָלָהonעַלMountהַרEbal.עֵיבָל
Are theyהֲ הֵמָּהnotלֹאbeyondבְּעֵבֶרthe Jordan,הַיַּרְדֵּןbehindאַחֲרֵיthe roadדֶּרֶךְof the sunset,מְבוֹא הַשֶּׁמֶשׁin the landבְּאֶרֶץof the Canaaniteהַכְּנַעֲנִיwho livesהַיֹּשֵׁבin the Arabah,בָּעֲרָבָהoppositeמוּלGilgal,הַגִּלְגָּלbesideאֵצֶלthe oaksאֵלוֹנֵיof Moreh?מֹרֶה
Forכִּיyouאַתֶּםare crossingעֹבְרִיםthe Jordanאֶת הַיַּרְדֵּןto go inלָבֹאto take possession ofלָרֶשֶׁתthe landאֶת הָאָרֶץthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֵיכֶםis givingנֹתֵןyou;לָכֶםyou will take possession ofוִירִשְׁתֶּםitאֹתָהּand liveוִישַׁבְתֶּםin it.בָּהּ
Be carefulוּשְׁמַרְתֶּםto carry outלַעֲשׂוֹתallאֵת כָּלthe statutesהַחֻקִּיםand the rulesוְאֶת הַמִּשְׁפָּטִיםthatאֲשֶׁרIאָנֹכִיam settingנֹתֵןbefore youלִפְנֵיכֶםtoday.הַיּוֹם
