ForכִּיI said,אָמַרְתִּי“Foreverעוֹלָםloyal loveחֶסֶדwill be built up;יִבָּנֶהin the very heavensשָׁמַיִם בָהֶםyou will establishתָּכִןyour faithfulness.”אֱמוּנָתְךָ
I have madeכָּרַתִּיa covenantבְרִיתwith my chosen one;לִבְחִירִיI have swornנִשְׁבַּעְתִּיto Davidלְדָוִדmy servant:עַבְדִּי
Foreverעַד עוֹלָםI will establishאָכִיןyour offspring,זַרְעֶךָand I will buildוּבָנִיתִיfrom generation to generationלְדֹר וָדוֹרyour throne.כִּסְאֲךָSelah.סֶלָה
Andוְthe heavensשָׁמַיִםwill give thanks forיוֹדוּyour wonder,פִּלְאֲךָYHWH,יְהוָהalso forאַףyour faithfulnessאֱמוּנָתְךָin the assemblyבִּקְהַלof the holy ones.קְדֹשִׁים
Forכִּיwhoמִיin the cloudבַשַּׁחַקcan compareיַעֲרֹךְwith YHWH,לַיהוָהwho is likeיִדְמֶהYHWHלַיהוָהamong the sonsבִּבְנֵיof El?אֵלִים
Elאֵלgreatlyרַבָּהfearedנַעֲרָץin the intimate councilבְּסוֹדof the holy ones,קְדֹשִׁיםand fearsomeוְנוֹרָאaboveעַלallכָּלwho surround him.סְבִיבָיו
YHWHיְהוָהElohimאֱלֹהֵיTsevaot,צְבָאוֹתwhoמִיis like you,כָמוֹךָstrongחֲסִיןYah?יָהּAnd your faithfulnessוֶאֱמוּנָתְךָsurrounds you.סְבִיבוֹתֶיךָ
Youאַתָּהruleמוֹשֵׁלthe prideבְּגֵאוּתof the sea;הַיָּםwhen its wavesגַלָּיוrise,בְּשׂוֹאyouאַתָּהstill them.תְשַׁבְּחֵם
YouאַתָּהcrushedדִכִּאתָRahabרָהַבlike one pierced;כֶחָלָלwith the armבִּזְרוֹעַof your strengthעֻזְּךָyou scatteredפִּזַּרְתָּyour enemies.אוֹיְבֶיךָ
Yoursלְךָare the heavens,שָׁמַיִםyoursלְךָalsoאַףthe earth;אָרֶץthe worldתֵּבֵלand what fills it,וּמְלֹאָהּyouאַתָּהfounded them.יְסַדְתָּם
The northצָפוֹןand the south,וְיָמִיןyouאַתָּהcreated them;בְרָאתָםTaborתָּבוֹרand Hermonוְחֶרְמוֹןshout for joyיְרַנֵּנוּin your name.בְּשִׁמְךָ
Yoursלְךָis the armזְרוֹעַwithעִםmight;גְּבוּרָהstrongתָּעֹזis your hand,יָדְךָexaltedתָּרוּםyour right hand.יְמִינֶךָ
Righteousnessצֶדֶקand justiceוּמִשְׁפָּטare the baseמְכוֹןof your throne;כִּסְאֶךָloyal loveחֶסֶדand faithfulnessוֶאֱמֶתcome to meetיְקַדְּמוּyour face.פָנֶיךָ
Happy isאַשְׁרֵיthe peopleהָעָםwho knowיוֹדְעֵיthe acclamation;תְרוּעָהYHWH,יְהוָהin the lightבְּאוֹרof your faceפָּנֶיךָthey walk.יְהַלֵּכוּן
In your nameבְּשִׁמְךָthey rejoiceיְגִילוּןallכָּלthe day,הַיּוֹםand in your righteousnessוּבְצִדְקָתְךָthey are exalted.יָרוּמוּ
Forכִּיthe beautyתִפְאֶרֶתof their strengthעֻזָּמוֹare you,אָתָּהand by your favorוּבִרְצֹנְךָour hornקַרְנֵנוּis exalted.תָּרוּם
Forכִּיto YHWHלַיהוָהbelongs our shield,מָגִנֵּנוּand to the Holy Oneוְלִקְדוֹשׁof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלour king.מַלְכֵּנוּ
Thenאָזyou spokeדִּבַּרְתָּin a visionבְחָזוֹןto your faithful ones,לַחֲסִידֶיךָand said,וַתֹּאמֶר“I have setשִׁוִּיתִיhelpעֵזֶרupon a mighty man;עַל גִּבּוֹרI have exaltedהֲרִימוֹתִיone chosenבָחוּרfrom the people.מֵעָם
I have foundמָצָאתִיDavidדָּוִדmy servant;עַבְדִּיwith my holy oilבְּשֶׁמֶן קָדְשִׁיI have anointed him,מְשַׁחְתִּיו
with whomאֲשֶׁר עִמּוֹmy handיָדִיwill be steadfast;תִּכּוֹןmy armזְרוֹעִיalsoאַףwill strengthen him.תְאַמְּצֶנּוּ
The enemyאוֹיֵבwill notלֹאtake him by surprise,יַשִּׁא בּוֹand the sonוּבֶןof injusticeעַוְלָהwill notלֹאafflict him.יְעַנֶּנּוּ
And I will crush to piecesוְכַתּוֹתִיhis adversariesצָרָיוbefore him,מִפָּנָיוand those who hate himוּמְשַׂנְאָיוI will strike.אֶגּוֹף
And my faithfulnessוֶאֶמוּנָתִיand my loyal loveוְחַסְדִּיwill be with him,עִמּוֹand in my nameוּבִשְׁמִיhis hornקַרְנוֹwill be exalted.תָּרוּם
And I will setוְשַׂמְתִּיhis handיָדוֹon the sea,בַיָּםand his right handיְמִינוֹon the rivers.וּבַנְּהָרוֹת
Heהוּאwill call to me,יִקְרָאֵנִי‘You areאָתָּהmy father,אָבִיmy El,אֵלִיand the Rockוְצוּרof my salvation.’יְשׁוּעָתִי
I alsoאַף אָנִיwill make himאֶתְּנֵהוּfirstborn,בְּכוֹרthe highestעֶלְיוֹןof the kingsלְמַלְכֵיof the earth.אָרֶץ
ForeverלְעוֹלָםI will keepאֶשְׁמָרfor himלוֹmy loyal love,חַסְדִּיand my covenantוּבְרִיתִיwill be firmנֶאֱמֶנֶתfor him.לוֹ
And I will setוְשַׂמְתִּיhis offspringזַרְעוֹforever,לָעַדand his throneוְכִסְאוֹlike the daysכִּימֵיof the heavens.שָׁמָיִם
Ifאִםhis sonsבָנָיוforsakeיַעַזְבוּmy instructionתּוֹרָתִיand do notוּ לֹאwalkיֵלֵכוּןin my ordinances,בְמִשְׁפָּטַי
ifאִםthey profaneיְחַלֵּלוּmy statutesחֻקֹּתַיand do notוּ לֹאkeepיִשְׁמֹרוּmy commandments,מִצְוֺתַי
then I will call to accountוּפָקַדְתִּיtheir transgressionפִּשְׁעָםwith the rod,בְשֵׁבֶטand their iniquityעֲוֺנָםwith blows.וּבִנְגָעִים
But my loyal loveוְחַסְדִּיI will notלֹאwithdrawאָפִירfrom him,מֵעִמּוֹnorוְלֹאbe falseאֲשַׁקֵּרto my faithfulness.בֶּאֱמוּנָתִי
I will notלֹאprofaneאֲחַלֵּלmy covenant,בְּרִיתִיand what has gone outוּמוֹצָאof my lipsשְׂפָתַיI will notלֹאchange.אֲשַׁנֶּה
OnceאַחַתI have swornנִשְׁבַּעְתִּיby my holiness:בְקָדְשִׁיI will notאִםlieאֲכַזֵּבto David.לְדָוִד
His offspringזַרְעוֹwill beיִהְיֶהforever,לְעוֹלָםand his throneוְכִסְאוֹlike the sunכַשֶּׁמֶשׁbefore me;נֶגְדִּי
like the moonכְּיָרֵחַit will be establishedיִכּוֹןforever,עוֹלָםand the witnessוְעֵדin the cloudבַּשַּׁחַקis faithful.”נֶאֱמָןSelah.סֶלָה
But youוְאַתָּהhave rejectedזָנַחְתָּand despised;וַתִּמְאָסyou have become enragedהִתְעַבַּרְתָּwith your anointed.עִם מְשִׁיחֶךָ
You have repudiatedנֵאַרְתָּהthe covenantבְּרִיתof your servant;עַבְדֶּךָyou have profanedחִלַּלְתָּto the groundלָאָרֶץhis diadem.נִזְרוֹ
You have broken throughפָּרַצְתָּallכָלhis fences;גְּדֵרֹתָיוyou have madeשַׂמְתָּhis strongholdsמִבְצָרָיוa ruin.מְחִתָּה
Allכָּלwho passעֹבְרֵיalong the wayדָרֶךְplunder him;שַׁסֻּהוּhe has becomeהָיָהa reproachחֶרְפָּהto his neighbors.לִשְׁכֵנָיו
You have exaltedהֲרִימוֹתָthe right handיְמִיןof his adversaries;צָרָיוyou have made gladהִשְׂמַחְתָּallכָּלhis enemies.אוֹיְבָיו
You alsoאַףturn backתָּשִׁיבthe edgeצוּרof his sword,חַרְבּוֹand have notוְלֹאmade him standהֲקֵימֹתוֹin war.בַּמִּלְחָמָה
You have put an endהִשְׁבַּתָּto his brightness,מִטְּהָרוֹand his throneוְכִסְאוֹto the groundלָאָרֶץyou have hurled down.מִגַּרְתָּה
You have shortenedהִקְצַרְתָּthe daysיְמֵיof his youth;עֲלוּמָיוyou have covered himהֶעֱטִיתָ עָלָיוwith shame.בּוּשָׁהSelah.סֶלָה
How long,עַד מָהYHWH?יְהוָהWill you hide yourselfתִּסָּתֵרforever?לָנֶצַחWill your furyחֲמָתֶךָburnתִּבְעַרlikeכְּמוֹfire?אֵשׁ
Rememberזְכָרwhatמֶהmy lifespan is;אֲנִי חָלֶדfor whatעַל מַהvanityשָּׁוְאhave you createdבָּרָאתָallכָלhuman beings?בְּנֵי אָדָם
Whatמִיmanגֶבֶרwill liveיִחְיֶהand notוְלֹאseeיִרְאֶהdeath,מָּוֶתwho can makeיְמַלֵּטhis soulנַפְשׁוֹescapeיְמַלֵּטfrom the handמִיַּדof Sheol?שְׁאוֹלSelah.סֶלָה
Where areאַיֵּהyour formerהָרִאשֹׁנִיםloyal loves,חֲסָדֶיךָAdonai,אֲדֹנָיwhich you sworeנִשְׁבַּעְתָּto Davidלְדָוִדby your faithfulness?בֶּאֱמוּנָתֶךָ
Remember,זְכֹרAdonai,אֲדֹנָיthe reproachחֶרְפַּתof your servants,עֲבָדֶיךָhow I bearשְׂאֵתִיin my bosomבְחֵיקִיthat ofallכָּלthe manyרַבִּיםpeoples,עַמִּים
with whichאֲשֶׁרyour enemiesאוֹיְבֶיךָhave reproached,חֵרְפוּYHWH,יְהוָהwith whichאֲשֶׁרthey have reproachedחֵרְפוּthe footprintsעִקְּבוֹתof your anointed.מְשִׁיחֶךָ
Blessed beבָּרוּךְYHWHיְהוָהforever.לְעוֹלָםAmenאָמֵןand amen.וְאָמֵן
