A prayerתְּפִלָּהof Moses,לְמֹשֶׁהthe manאִישׁof Elohim.הָאֱלֹהִיםAdonai,אֲדֹנָיyouאַתָּהhave beenהָיִיתָa dwelling placeמָעוֹןfor usלָּנוּfrom generation to generation.בְּדֹר וָדֹר
Beforeבְּטֶרֶםthe mountainsהָרִיםwere born,יֻלָּדוּor you gave birth toוַתְּחוֹלֵלthe earthאֶרֶץand the world,וְתֵבֵלeven from foreverוּמֵעוֹלָםto foreverעַד עוֹלָםyou areאַתָּהEl.אֵל
You turn backתָּשֵׁבthe mortalאֱנוֹשׁto dust,עַד דַּכָּאand say,וַתֹּאמֶר“Return,שׁוּבוּhuman beings.”בְנֵי אָדָם
Forכִּיa thousandאֶלֶףyearsשָׁנִיםin your eyesבְּעֵינֶיךָare like the dayכְּיוֹםof yesterdayאֶתְמוֹלwhenכִּיit passes,יַעֲבֹרand like a watchוְאַשְׁמוּרָהin the night.בַלָּיְלָה
You sweep them away;זְרַמְתָּםthey areיִהְיוּa sleep;שֵׁנָהin the morningבַּבֹּקֶרthey are like grassכֶּחָצִירthat is renewed;יַחֲלֹף
in the morningבַּבֹּקֶרit bloomsיָצִיץand is renewed;וְחָלָףin the eveningלָעֶרֶבit withersיְמוֹלֵלand dries up.וְיָבֵשׁ
Forכִּיwe are consumedכָלִינוּby your anger,בְאַפֶּךָand by your furyוּבַחֲמָתְךָwe are dismayed.נִבְהָלְנוּ
You have setשַׁתָּהour iniquitiesעֲוֺנֹתֵינוּbefore you,לְנֶגְדֶּךָour secretsעֲלֻמֵנוּin the lightלִמְאוֹרof your face.פָּנֶיךָ
Forכִּיallכָלour daysיָמֵינוּdeclineפָּנוּin your wrath;בְעֶבְרָתֶךָwe finishכִּלִּינוּour yearsשָׁנֵינוּlikeכְמוֹa murmur.הֶגֶה
The daysיְמֵיof our yearsשְׁנוֹתֵינוּ—in themבָהֶםseventyשִׁבְעִיםyears,שָׁנָהand ifוְאִםby strengthבִּגְבוּרֹתeightyשְׁמוֹנִיםyears;שָׁנָהand their prideוְרָהְבָּםis sufferingעָמָלand sorrow,וָאָוֶןforכִּיit passesגָזquickly,חִישׁand we fly away.וַנָּעֻפָה
Whoמִיknowsיוֹדֵעַthe strengthעֹזof your anger,אַפֶּךָand,וּaccording to the fear of you,כְיִרְאָתְךָyour wrath?עֶבְרָתֶךָ
To numberלִמְנוֹתour days,יָמֵינוּsoכֵּןteach us,הוֹדַעand we will bringוְנָבִאa heartלְבַבof wisdom.חָכְמָה
Return,שׁוּבָהYHWH!יְהוָהHow long?עַד מָתָיAnd relentוְהִנָּחֵםconcerning your servants.עַל עֲבָדֶיךָ
Satisfy usשַׂבְּעֵנוּin the morningבַבֹּקֶרwith your loyal love,חַסְדֶּךָand we will shout for joyוּנְרַנְּנָהand rejoiceוְנִשְׂמְחָהallבְּכָלour days.יָמֵינוּ
Make us gladשַׂמְּחֵנוּaccording to the daysכִּימוֹתin which you afflicted us,עִנִּיתָנוּthe yearsשְׁנוֹתin which we have seenרָאִינוּevil.רָעָה
Letיֵרָאֶהyour workפָעֳלֶךָappearיֵרָאֶהto your servants,אֶל עֲבָדֶיךָand your majestyוַהֲדָרְךָupon their children.עַל בְּנֵיהֶם
And letוִיהִיthe sweetnessנֹעַםof Adonaiאֲדֹנָיour Elohimאֱלֹהֵינוּbeיהִיupon us;עָלֵינוּand the workוּמַעֲשֵׂהof our handsיָדֵינוּestablishכּוֹנְנָהupon us;עָלֵינוּyes,וּthe workמַעֲשֵׂהof our hands,יָדֵינוּestablish it.כּוֹנְנֵהוּ
